  1. Thanks for the tip. That would be at the limit of my range.
  2. Agreed this or medical cover not being in place.
  3. I agree Leicester are possibly the most reliable track regarding start time but even they have delays the start to a meeting I attended this season. I am never keen to rely on the last train which means I need to be back at the station for 22:10 and the local cabs/taxi/Uber struggle to find the speedway car park.
  4. Speedway fans know if they turn up late the meeting will be delayed. It makes it harder for me as I rely on trains to get to meetings. One late start has already cost me £185 for a unexpected hotel room. But the issue is a professional sport should start at the time stated. 19:30 start for me means ready to start heat 1, which also means 2 minutes goes on at 19:28 and a parade should start at 19:23. Not start time at 19:30 and first race gets underway at 19:45 or later.
  5. Yes. How many other sports delay the start time as regularly as Speedway. I have already been to five meetings this season that has started late which is unacceptable for a professional sport.
  6. Thanks for posting Roger. The studio presentation looked very corporate and reflected well on the new club. Fingers crossed that the promotion are doing enough to engage with locals so that they are not reliant on the general speedway fans attending but develop new local speedway fans.
  7. I feel very sorry for Joe. Although I have been critical of his selection in the past this year he has done a very good job. However, he has not "go to hell he’s kicked out" as his fixed term contract has come to an end. That is different from being kicked out. He has agreed to provide a service for 28 days. He did provide a service for 28 days. The club used his services for 28 days. The contract was fore filled by both parties.
  8. Joe earns enough to buy his own decent engine
  9. For me it's clear cut. Gilkes is very injury prone and Thompson is riding well. So I would keep Thompson. Second in the R/S list is good enough for me.
  10. O was told by a Clerk of the Course that the PZM have come into line with the SCB on this for the 2026 season.
  11. That is a red herring it is all to do with recovery time. If a mouthguard in rugger can can have an impact sensor in it why can we not have one in a helmet?
  12. The problem is building any team under 37 points for 6 riders with 26.73% of the total used for one rider.
  13. At no point did I say Fricke was the problem. The problem is his high average and to accommodate it the compromises that have to be made elsewhere to get below the points limit.
  14. Are they? 7 days minimum in Speedway. 21 days minimum in Rugby Union. And if my understanding is correct 21 days is becoming the standard globally across most sports. Are the concussions in rugby really three times worse than speedway? Or is it more to do with financial consideration in Speedway?
  15. For me its.... 1. Sheffield, I look at their team and wonder how they got it under the points limit - very strong 2. Leicester, if Kemp becomes a 6 point plus rider they will challenge Sheffield 3. Ipswich a solid team that will not loose much at home and pick up bonus points away 4. Belle Vue, unbeatable at home but will struggle on the road 5. Northampton, solid but uninspiring team, cannot believe their heat leaders will stay injury free 6. Kings Lynn just have to compromise on overall strength to get Fricke into the team
  16. What this result show is that Leicester were correct in not signing Fricke. His average is to high for the six man limit below 40 points. As a result they have to run an inexperienced No6 who is going to find it tough at this level. Cooper is a great talent as shown by his paid max at Poole so I hope that riding at 6 does not hurt his confidence. I suspect its going to be another long old season for Lynn fans.
  17. Speaking to an official at Poole he said that the ACU had sent out two emails on this subject but the read receipt was in single digits. This sounds partly like the classic case of trying to blame ignorance which is no legal defence.
  18. Now it could be just me but does the Rising Star spot appear doomed at Leicester? Go back to the time of Josh Bates and it's not a good track record they have.
  19. He dropped what he was asking from Belle Vue to get a ride at Ipswich.
  20. Northampton could race away from home to build up a profile in the local media before starting their home fixtures at say either of the May Bank Holidays. That gives them a minimum of 8 weeks to sort everything out.
  21. And yet in the last two seasons he is the Lion that has increased his average by the greatest amount in each season.
  22. Yes, there should be change and the Chair needs to be independent so I would put forward Phil Morris.
  23. Douglas was 5th in last years averages. That makes him an out and out number 1.
  24. I see that side as solid and without a tail. With a decent rising star it will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
  25. I think Leicester should be congratulated for their use of social media in the last few weeks. They were the first, if not only club to update their supporters on what their plans were, then they announce the departure of their best rider (with Max confirming this 15 minutes later) but within 12 hours announce the signing of Thompson. Anyone would think they actually have put some thought into how they use social media & have a strategy. If this is the case can other clubs please take note....
