I didn't say anything about spitting my dummy out, did I? I think Cook would've been the better number 1 but the point of my post was to spark a debate amongst us all on why they went with Batch over Cookie.
-
So Mr.Baines has stated the departure of Cookie was purely down to numbers. However, cookie, with his reduction, would've fit in the team over Batch. Therefore, they have decided to choose Batch over Cook. I think having Batch at number 1 puts us in a position where we have one of the worst number 1s in the league.

Wasn't 2022 a much stronger league though?
-
Who we thinking ladies and gents? I can't help but think it'll be hook. He's an aussie like the majority of the other riders and he fits quite well in to the remaining pts
-
Probably but it was only a couple of weeks ago he was saying he doesn't have a team yet.
-
The last thing I heard was that he hasn't gotten an offer for next season
-
That isn't going to happen.

We kicking opposition riders off their bikes while winning?

Where the hell have you pulled this from?

It's funny that this is coming out now and not several months ago

So he's quitting speedway? -
Is hook a definite? For me, i would prefer Riss. Feel like he's a very talented, no fear, never gives up rider. When he guested for us he done superbly.
-
Is it our no.1 or no.5 announcement?
-
Signing number 2 tomorrow at 7am.
-
What a absolute disaster. I'm disappointed.
-
I hope this isn't true. Have you heard he hasn't signed? If so, I'll just have to trust the lads in charge.
-
Keep your hands off. He wants to return to Workington.
-
What you going on about?
-
Who's your four? I have Cook, tate, vuolas. Maybe starke

Just looking at u19 champ results. Some good riders amongst them. Who would you take out them all for reserve rider(s)? I'm a bit torn on Ace. He's obviously got potential, done well yesterday, but got dropped by Glasgow this year. He's on a 3.01 average. There's also Jody Scott and Freddy Hodder who would be worth a shout. I'm not sure if they'll come, and I reckon Oxford have first dibs on Scott.

Comets reserves are somewhat similar before starke. Sam couldn't get any lower than 2 but if it was possible he would have. Likewise, celina couldn't get lower than 4 but if she could it would have been around 2.

Couldn't have put it better myself. At home he was unstoppable. Down that back straight he picks up some incredible speed. His equipment seems top notch and his brother must be a top mechanic. He can consistently score 10+ at home but his away form requires improvement. I'm hoping the experience he got this season with us and Belle Vue will help him improve.

To add to this, while on the topic of USA riders, Young Alex Martin who also featured in the ben fund, qualified for a Btitish League Visa for next year after finishing 4th in the AMA national championship series.

I personally don't know where you'd fit joe. Dan could maybe come in as no.5.

It's not often I agree with a post on this forum in its entirety. I'd keep cookie. Although there are better number 1s out there, his home and away performances have been solid. If he has a good off season he'll be even better next year. I liked his speech during the Poole fixture. Tate is a no brainer. Most exciting rider I've seen around northside. When we were out there getting beat by Poole, I just kept thinking about tate and what he could've done against those big hitters. Vuolas is also a no brainer. Yes he struggled around some away tracks, but his performances at home and more recently in the prem have been top notch. Definitely an asset as baines said and it sounds like he'll be back. Claus had some good results and some bad results. I feel like we were rushed into this signing due to lack of availability of other riders. Not a bad rider, likes the longer tracks, wouldn't have him back. I'm sure he'll be at Glasgow next year. Although he did love berwick too. Batch was a pleasant surprise. Didn't expect his performances this year. Gave it a real good go and scored some much needed points. His performances at redcar were my highlight. One fan was heard stating "no one beats danny king or charles wright twice around their own track". Cheers Batch, I loved seeing his face after that performance. I can't see him back though, he might end up as a no.1 somewhere though. Paul Starke was brilliant at reserve. He was what we needed to push onto the playoffs. Scored points that our reserves just weren't doing. Probably a wise choice to bring him back on his average. He just needs to get that machinery sorted. As for sam, I liked the kid. In the NDL he put some exciting performances in and I really thought he would've pushed on and made some progress. He was very competitive last year against some good riders, but this year it seemed every reserve rider was better.
