  1. Not surprised with the rain off. Was through Workington today between 18:45 and 20:15 and it chucked it down throughout. Forecast looks awful too. Oh well, half of me is gutted, the other half is happy because in my own little mind, the season still has a little left for us!
  2. I was at Scunny at the start of the season and was shocked by the low numbers. Us comets fans probably made up a high percentage of the total.
  3. They all, apart from Kemp, struggled to get out the gate. That isn't so vital at Scunny but today it will be
  4. Stream today was horrendous. Constantly freezing throughout. Good meeting though. Hopefully we make a return next season because I don't want to lose speedway at Workington
  5. Im getting bored now. I've said that the comment was said in jest.
  6. I didn't say they were dirty? You can clearly see it says "took them out". Yes it was accidental, and my comment prior to this one was in jest. Also, if you watched the stream, you'd have seen the interview with Baz where he said taking Max out was due to him feeling the effects of the crash
  7. Mitch took out max on the back straight with Max coming second due to Mitch's exclusion. Max still had a programmed ride and was replaced by Jakobsen. Drew was taking out by Killeen near first bend
  8. Oxford riders were trying their best to take out our riders. Poor max had to withdraw and kemps sore
  9. I wouldnt be surprised to see Vinnie taking a break from speedway soon.
  10. Only Workington did turn them over. UTC! Guests, in the end, made the difference I think. Harris started poor but his two wins at the end were vital. Boring racing at start but picked up at the end. Especially with Harris bombing around the outside and up the inside
  11. That Workington team are going to turn you lot over. I hope
  12. Poor lad. Gonna be scared off from British Speedway when he rides that rubbishshow of a track.
  13. It's a strange one. I feel like it was ages ago when they announced he was nearly ready to return. Hopefully his health troubles are now over for good and he gets a team place next season somewhere. Very good rider and I wouldnt mind him at Comets (if we return next season)
  14. Some interesting articles in the speedway forum this week. I would recommend giving it a read. Im slightly more optimistic now than I was after only knowing what Denham has been saying.
  15. Dropping batch is an outrageous decision to be honest. He's posted today saying he has been doing physio and would have been back for this week's fixture. You've now replaced batch who in his last two meetings had top scored for Northampton with a young Aussie who has never rode around Northampton or many of the Premier League tracks at that. Baffling decision, especially when you have others in the team scoring close to zero every meeting.
  16. Bunch of muppets in here. Batch has never missed a meeting for Comets since he started. To suggest he simply didnt want to ride a track so has pulled out of every meeting this week is ridiculous. Yous lot can't put your hate for Batch aside for one second even though you have riders scoring 0 every meeting.
  17. The whole thing makes you wonder if the rules are right. One of our best riders around northside gets taken out by an opposition rider in his third race. That means there are two races that require covering from a lesser average rider. That could have lost us the meeting. They should allow remaining races (if he hasnt completed 3 or more races), to be taken by one above and rest below.

  19. You can call it a racing incident but it was numb from an experienced rider. He didn't try to avoid Tate at all though. Highlights on BSN Facebook page if you'd like to have a look. Poor riding from an experienced rider.
  20. VP has been decent for yous today. PK has let you down most of the meeting
  21. Ive also been thinking about ways that they could save the sport and reduce costs. More consistent fixtures would be a good start. Id also cap wages and, if the top dogs dont want to ride for that amount, let them go. I'd rather see current middle pack riders move up to no.1 than have no speedway at all.
  22. Glasgow owners may have helped out last season but that was to get them out the situation we were in then. They are there on a consulting role more than anything. This isn't a "workington" issue. Speedway is in a sorry state in general and most clubs will be running at a loss. Just look at Edinburgh who are heavily reliant on supporters charitable donations to stay alive. The more supported clubs will obviously run at a profit but that will mean nothing when they have no other teams to play. Something needs to change and we've all knew that for years. Will it change? Absolutely not. Shame, Ive really fallen back in love with Speedway since comets came to tapes
  23. Like ive said on the championship section - all reports from clubs and promotion are "taking time away". Kyle's own post suggests he could be done for good. No indication given of a return.
