Shame really. Absolutely superb around Northside but his away form has probably left him without a team. I thought he'd be at Scunny for sure. Strange how he worded his statement though - "change of plan". Wonder if a team, such as scunny, has had a change of heart

Its going to be a a rider around 2 pts. Would you rather have Max Perry or a Kyle Bickley?
-
I think Bickley is worth the risk on such a low average. He's 23 years old, would be coming in to a league that is considerably weaker than years gone by, and he'd be able to compete at reserve level.
-
He finished 2023 with 2.62 and didnt ride in 2024 or 2025. Now, I'm presuming he'll get his 2.5% reduction for 2024, plus the two lots of 8% for not riding in 2024 and 2025. That would put him at 2.16. If he didnt get the 2.5%, it would be 2.22

One of the most awkward interviews ive ever seen. Some good talking points though. Andrew mentioned he may be looking further afield (outside UK). He also claimed that Ashton Boughen is wanting to make a return to speedway.
-
What was this interview on?
-
I'd rather it the other way around. Cookie at home was very good two seasons ago. Batch is so much better away than he is at home
-
7.99

Hopefully he wants to make up for his last stint at Northside. I know he's been smashing the gym a lot, so maybe a fit, motivated Cookie will arrive come the start of the season.

Signing #5 is Lambert. Jk...I hope
-
Signing #5 incoming

They weren't going to say any different though, were they? Dont think they'd come out and say we've struggled, no-one wants to come here, etc.
-
Thinking about it, they should really have a rising star position in the championship. Number 7 goes to an up and coming rider from the NDL level.
-
Everything wrong with speedway in a nutshell. Jacob performs exceptionally well last season, beats some top riders, and ends up losing out the following season with no team place. No wonder young riders are giving up the sport so easy.
-
I wasnt, but now youve brought him up, lets discuss. His speedway star article was interesting, and he seems to have turned a corner. Maybe someone should give him a second chance.
-
Brill, if thats the case, there are some very good talents who could return on ridiculously low averages.
-
Think we need a bit more clarity of this new rule. Is it an accumulated percentage reduction, like yiu have calculated, or is it exponential reduction. For example, it could be 8% × 5 seasons = 40%, which would be 5.27×0.6 = 3.16. Or, is if, 5.27×0.92^5 = 3.47.

Theres probably numerous degree trained people browsing this forum. Degree in engineering here and I also dont know for certain 🤣

You round up the answer. Is the answer the reduction of the average? Reduction = average × 0.025.

Mathematical convention is to round up if its 0.5, 0.05, etc. 2.5% of 8.2 is 0.205. Rounded up is 0.21, giving him an average of 7.99. However, it does matter how its calculated. You can remove 2.5% off 8.2 by multiplying it by 0.975, which would give you 7.995. Is the average the figure to be rounded or the reduction?

Which is what? Don't suggest there is a reason and not tell everyone

Or maybe Harris can't ride northside and got beat by the better rider on the day? Since we returned, I dont think Harris has had a good performance at Northside. He done okay when he guested for us but that's about it
-
Just also like to add that there's still a chance Hook returns, unless he's signed elsewhere. The longer the signing drought goes on, the more plausible it is that we havent signed our full team yet.
-
I also find it baffling but zischke has been amongst the main body of the team for 2 seasons. Hook excelled at reserve and beat some good riders over the course of the season. However, when he guested in the main body of other teams, he was poor. Thats not to say Hook wouldn't have been good in the main body over time, but I partially understand the hesitation from the promotion. Still believe he deserved a chance after his performances last season. I remember him rounding Chris Harris at Northside.
