  1. I keep seeing posts like this. Why wouldn't we run? The facilities are being continuously improved, there are a lot of sponsors on board, and the ultimate goal is to get the stadium to FIM standards.
  2. The forecast didnt help yesterday. There was due to be rain and it didn't happen. You either risk watering it and hope it doesnt rain, or don't water and hope for natural watering. Id go for the latter because even if it didnt rain, you can still ride regardless of the dust. If the track was watered and then it rained, then you risk a very wet track that may stop the racing
  3. The grahn pass was the hardest for him. The rest of the races he was just trying to slow down the riders to help the other rider pass. He was interviewed afterwards and his mechanic said he'd counted how many times he looked over his shoulder in one of the heats. On one lap alone, he looked over 5 times. Good team rider to have and you dont see that often
  4. Very reactionary from you on the back of a few bad results. I, personally, wouldn't have changed much in comets team. Cook was the biggest gamble going and it failed. NHJ is struggling in his first season but id have him back next year on his current average. Batch has been our best rider of the last few season, started this season really well, and has been poor for past few. On his average last season, less than 7, I'd have kept him. Especially as a third heat leader. You just seem to be judging everything on hindsight, and that isnt realistic
  5. It's a difficult one. We aren't performing well but we should be beating Edinburgh. Klindt loves our track and I expect our reserves to be competing with theres. Sedgeman hasn't really taken to our track when ive seen him around northside. Expecting comets to nick it but it'll be a close competition. 48-42.

  7. They couldn't fit vuolas in anyways unless they made 2 changes.
  8. You must have some rose tinted goggles on. I haven't missed a home meeting since we started back up 3 years ago. Recently, the numbers have been down. There's three types of real fans - some who attend for the love of the racing, some who attend wanting their team to win, and some who are both. Constantly losing at home will soon have a negative impact on the numbers coming through the gate. Thats true for all sports.
  9. Dipping into the foreign market works but it has to be done wisely. No one could've predicted Jakobsen would have flopped as much as he has. Doing so has put a lot of pressure on Vinnie, who really could have done with the season spent as reserve. It worked two seasons ago when we brought in Tate and Antti but this season it wasn't meant to be. Dropping Antti was the right choice for me, at the time - we needed strength home and away. With the team we had, on paper, we should have been winning at home and competing strongly away. Unfortunately, Cookies antics put a stop to any hope we all had
  10. I have to disagree with the batch comment. Batch has been our best rider of the last 3 years. This season he's had one or two bad performances snd the rest acceptable. I would've brought batch back this season as well after his performances as number 1 last season. Hind sight is a wonderful thing but im sure the promotion probably thought jeppesen and cookie would be 1 and 5, with batch at 3.
  11. Not the same. He had unexpected mechanical gremlins at redcar that they desperately tried to sort out. Yesterday was a mistake on Foords behalf when he pulled forward to the tapes about a second too late
  12. Batch gets a lot of hate on all public forums/social media platforms. As a comets fan, I dont have a bad word to say about him. Yes its frustrating when he pulls up at the back, but the guy has quite often saved us from being an embarrassment over the last couple of seasons. He hasnt missed a single meeting for us and often scores 8+ points a meeting. We would have had a lot of thrashings last season, more so than we got, if it weren't for batch.
  13. Heard he gave up his ride to the young Mickie Simpson to give him track time
  14. Wait till you find out he's riding in the British Final
  15. Some changes to line-up for Saturday's memorial meeting. One to note is Kemp in for Batchelor. Unsure where Batchelor is, but he hasn't missed a meeting for us in two years, so must be something important. More track time for Kemp is a positive though.
  16. Id have to get your lazy rear out of it first mate
  17. He was gating poor like the rest of the team and trying too hard. In the earlier heats he was going really wide when that outside line wasn't working. I'm sure he'll come good, but he needs to get that setup dialled in plus fix those mechanical gremlins that he often has
  18. Yeh, the transponders are always 100% accurate, aren't they?🙄
  19. Im a bit calmer now but that is an embarrassing result at home. Im not sure what the issues were but maybe the track conditions caught out our riders. Everyone seemed so slow at first and Glasgow were flying out the gates. End of the meeting provided some good quality racing and im thankful because I was going home a stinker otherwise. Although it doesnt matter, im still adamant tate pipped Harris on the line. I would like to see that one again
  20. Expecting a close meeting tomorrow. Harris has never dominated at our spot, but i expect all the other riders will do well.
  21. Etherington and Workington parted ways mutually. He knew he was no where near ready. Spencer is a better rider than Whalley, although Whalley may have a higher ceiling. Also, it isnt the same. Having a British Passport may make you British, but he's still and Aussie
  22. Riders start the sport at different ages. Rising star shouldnt necessarily mean a young person. In this case, they are replacing a British lad with an Aussie who, by all accounts, has been performing well at ndl level but in the reserve berth. Doesn't sit right with me
