  1. Careful what you say about Vatcher - you'll get the website shutdown !!!! As for the comments abut Rye fans bleating on about things - once again it you Lakeside fans that keep making confrontational comments. Will I be returning - Not a chance in hell.
  2. Interesting negative spin on a what was a positive question. The question was asked and the majority said no, which is absolutely fine. I was trying to engage with the customers who come onto the forum You could have asked the question yourself as you are still a member.
  3. Yep, that is what I meant. Thanks Bryce
  4. So the most important thing about speedway is the car park!! How any Lakeside supporter can call Rye house facilities basic is crazy. Lakeside is so cold and bleak. Your miles from the track and not a seat in sight. Even though they have taken down the seats on the bends, there is still plenty of seating at Rye house. Lakeside has nothing - diddly squat. Nobody is ranting about how good it is there, just stating the plain fact that it is better. Plus also it was cheaper to watch than Lakeside was in 2016. As for loyalty I think many peoples heart as with teams no longer with us - Hackney, West Ham etc
  5. Hi Mark, I'm more than happy to continue with the forum and enjoy the varied opinions and occasional banter. I only opened it because the old was was taken away from us rather pathetically. What I don't like is people making judgements about how I should think just because I am the admin. My opinion is no more important that any one else, so why should I have to think a particular way. I don't want the club to fail, I don't want any club to fail, but if I don't like how it's being run I am not going to part with any money, especially when I have an alternative.
  6. Thank you for your high praise, but do you think I'm the only one who no longer attends having had enough of the perceived issues and not prepared to hand over my well earned cash. Yes I am admin of the forum, but as I have made clear I now attend Rye House and have no inclination to go back to Lakeside. Perhaps I should just close the forum, but that would be rather inconsiderate - like the owner of the previous forum. remind me who that was again!!!
  7. Stadiums do not come cheap, but it was Cook who said he was looking for one, or a place to build one. As for supporting your club, why continue to hand over money to the man who is running it into the ground. Even since Stuart stopped his day to day involvement the place has gone downhill year after year and the decision to drop down has been a disaster. Better to not attend and hopefully he will leave and somebody else will come in to run the club. If not and it closes, well, it is going to happen anyway.
  8. Daytripper, very interesting comments. 1. Agree with you. Jon was OK when he had Stuart and his Business Acumen to steer the club. Post Stuart at Lakeside he's got even worse than he was at Eastbourne. 2. Agree the sport is in a mess. However, clubs like Somerset, Glasgow, Rye House and Eastbourne seem to generating enthusiasm and are taking their clubs forward. 3. If it's a small minority of fans, then it really isn't a problem for the club. Also, standing up at a Fans Forum is not the answer. Vote with your feet and do not attend is the only true way, which is what a majority have done.
  9. I was never a favour of Martin ever since I watched him intentionally hit and knock off Rob Ledwith after the race had finished, just because Rob had the audacity to beat him. However, if he has made Eastbourne a club again and galvanised the fans then I applaud him. That is what had rekindled me to Rye as the same kind of positivity is happening there.
  10. Seeing as it's in the future, how can you say it's not true. I agree with Waco's opinion and it's very sad for the club (a club that had Leigh Adams, Mark Loram Lee Richardson etc ride for them) You are generally correct in that the ones that are moaning are the ones that haven't attended. But that's the very reason. Things are promised and then just forgotten about. When it happens year on year people get annoyed at how they feel treated. 7 riders who have given everything this year, have,by Cook's announcement, been put out of a job. ZAch will/should end up at Swindon, so only Ben may be back there. Where is the public thanks from Cook ?
  11. I know how you feel Claret. Didn't go to Lakeside at all this year, never had any inclination. Treated like sh1te one too many times. Thankfully Rye has saved me from walking away from the sport. Not perfect, due to the sport as a whole, but 1000 times better than Lakeside and cheaper too.
  12. What team would that be Liam? Some of us would give anything to see our teams one more time, win or lose. When they have gone we still love our sport, so if we can we go to the most convenient team and develop some passion towards them. None of us want to see that club close as we know the pain that comes with closure. So when we see a promoter, showing such contempt for fans, spouting nonsense and ultimately making decisions which reduces the fans base, it outright annoys some of us.
  13. Well I intend to win the lottery next year, drive an Aston Martin, fly to Mars and back and achieve world peace. I will confirm later.
  14. KK, Bomber and Scotty I would hope are bankers. Ricky was a solid second string and deserves a spot. Ellis Perks needs to be bought back at reserve and I'd have Jye Etheridge at reserve. Leaving just one to fill once the limit is known.
  15. Thanks for the info Shads. If we go to set night racing then maybe we can get him at Rye.
  16. Etheridge impressed me tonight. Him and Perks at reserve sounds exciting.
  17. As somebody that has switched from lakeside to Rye I have to ask myself several questions: 1. Journey time - Rye is 15 minutes further. 2. Cost - Rye is cheaper than Lakeside (last year) for admittance and program 3. Officials - Rye staff always seem happy and part of a team 4. Promoters - Huge respect from what they are trying to achieve at Rye and I just cannot trust Cook ever again. To much negativity and talking rubbish. 5. Viewing - Much closer viewing and plenty of seating at Rye 6. Weather - Rye stadium is much better protected from the weather 7. Atmosphere - Positive atmosphere and sense of belonging at Rye. The opposite at Lakeside 8. Racing - Maybe its the better viewing but I think the racing is better at Rye. The comments following the TV match were very positive. Before anyone says where is your loyalty, well that will always be for Waterden Road. So will I be back, Nope.
  18. If that was the case then why did John Cook state that was the reason Lakeside were dropping down to the National League?
  19. Holy Crap - That's a lot of meetings. I would hope a deal would offered to tempt people - more so that the £12 for Mondays TV meeting.
  20. Have to agree racing was poor last night. It seems to have got worse the last few weeks. Had to move from the back straight as it was so dusty, more water was needed. The time it was taking to grade the track took almost as long as the 4 heats in between. Wouldn't have minded if the racing was top draw but it wasn't. Still a good crowd in attendance and I liked the centre green announcer, especially the humour. Looking forward to a good few meetings over the next 3 weeks.
  21. Yes of course it is 😂 Clearly obvious that you statements are well thought out and truthful
  22. If that is correct then he's either sh1te stirring or blind as a bat. There is more dirt on the Rye track then either Lakeside or Kent.
