With no TV deal whats the point of a media day
-
Given the importance of this new venture, they are going to need a big star to front the team. Got to be Tai surely.
-
Whatever is going on, is not good. Probably the usual they want new teams in the league, but they want to constrict them. It's no wonder the sport is dying.
-
Having lost Dan to Leicester, maybe they are trying to get Jason and/or Emil back. They would be mad not to try. The team posted yesterday will be on a hiding to nothing. Crowds would drop significantly.
-
I'm sure if the delay was just contained within Ipswich, then the club could/would make some announcements as to riders etc. The fact that nothing has been broadcast means that the issue is due to a wider issue within the premiership.
-
The longer this goes on the more worrying this becomes. Maybe certain riders are wanted by Ipswich but they are being held back for Northampton or wherever. Ipswich are then threatening to pull out if they are not being allowed to sign riders, which would be understandable.
-
All this reminds me of Hackney 1988. Team wins the league in a class of their own. During the close season the team gets ripped apart ( funnily enough half of them go to Ipswich). Three years late Hackney closed.

How About 1. T. Woffinden 8.45 2. S. Nicholls ? 3. Richard Lawson 6.83 4. K. Rew 6.19 5. T. Brennan 7.05 6. J. Jenkins 3.46 7. J. Edwards (RS)

and where has that been said? apart from a few people of here making suggestions?

I see Dan as a level headed and smart guy. Not sure he would chase the money and seems to understand the importance of being at a well run and supportive club.

Can't believe Ipswich would let Dan Thompson go, that would be madness

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
KevtheRev replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree with your first point, however, if you had promotion and relegation, you'll get teams wanting to lose so they don't get promoted! -
I would hope that Jason, Dan and Tom are the priorities for next year. If the averages allow, then Emil would surely be next. I also think Adam should stay. He seemingly was just finding some good form and he's a good team player. Whenever someone crashed, it was always Adam that was out first to check on them.

Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
KevtheRev replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree with all the comments you've made. Messing around with the riding order is just plain dumb. Very poor display last night - again. IF we don't like a slick track why prepare it like that - Yes yes the rain, but I'd rather see a meeting postponed with it being prepared how we like it, rather than watch another meeting slick track, resulting in a loss and lack of excitement If the riders were holding back, then that is unfair to the paying public. Clearly, with the low attendance, some clearly saw this coming. Crunch time now, results are wiped and the 4 teams start from the same place. Just can't see us progressing. This great team, riding for the last time together are going to falter. -
I've not suggested watering down our league, quite the opposite. Do this to ensure we keep hold of the top guys

I think the answer is to create an Anglo Saxon league. 5 teams for the UK 5 from Denmark 5 from Sweden No Poland. Meet every team one, that's 14 matches. Could add the KO Cup for local teams and maybe even a test match series.

Is It Finally Time For One League?
KevtheRev replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shame I thought that would work, but keep Poland out, just three countries, 5/6 teams each. -

How are Sweden and Denmark doing? How about an Anglo-Saxon League - 5 teams from UK, 5 from Sweden and 5 from Denmark? Better still 6 if possible, and then a local KO Cup. Would that work? -
Same here, Don't recall ever leaving a stadium pissed off and angry before, but last night I was fuming. Don't want to hear any excuses, ah so and so had bike problems, a bit of bad luck etc. It's happened one too many times now. This team is not going to win anything this year if they continue to perform like this. Kings Lynn were fired up and fighting for every point, that was clear, we just seemed to be out for a gentle stroll. With the team we have on paper, these performances are just not good enough.

Ipswich Witches v Belle Vue 10th July
KevtheRev replied to blue witch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well watered and heavy track but given the circumstances better than a dusty slick blue groove nightmare. It produced some great racing as mentioned. No idea what the texter was watching.
