Edinburgh v Redcar Championship 10th July 7.30pm
gmuncie replied to eide67's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tremendous level of sour grapes there, kudos To say there was no passing is nonsense Heat 4, Thomson gets third on the line almost second Heat 6 Grahn and Foord passed and repassed Heat 9 Paco on Allen Heat 10 Dan on Allen heat 14 Edwards on Cluff, Paco on Scott Heat 15 all 4 riders changed position at one point or another With a few other exciting enough races thrown in with Klindt buzzing about Thompson in 13 amongst them I’m not saying Armadale is gonna be confused with Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz anytime soon but to say there was no passing is laughably wrong. -
Yes, Flint guests according to the Berwick thread

Oxford Cheetahs v Glasgow Tigers 17/6/26 19:30

The issue is while not everyone likes football many many speedway fans do and most will choose one or the other When even losing 10% of your crowd can make for a catastrophic night for most clubs then running against the football is financial suicide for the night, add in the fact that the match is on BSN so people can watch the speedway after the football should they decide to stay home and this seems like horrific planning albeit I can see why Glasgow wouldn’t want to rearrange giving it must be a rare Wednesday that KJP is available -

Erik is classed as third as he had a lower average than Rowe on the previous averages so no r/r for Sam -

Poole confirm that Dan Gilkes has stood down bit.ly/4s6CfGp

If that Newcastle was signed to ride in the championship this year with relevant reductions etc I make it about 2.6 points over

Edinburgh have the 29th May reserved for a potential home leg of BSN semi, 3rd July for KO Cup semi and 17th July for BSN final on their fixture list so hopefully it is the weeks either side of that that are reserved for all teams progressing in cups, then those that don’t can rearrange any rain offs or other fixtures as required

Ben fund is a 6pm tapes up from memory so plenty of time for an early afternoon p+p then a doddle up to Ashfield

2025 rulebook there was no minimum amount of matches that I can see but there was a deadline after 75% of a clubs matches. There also used to be a rule that if you reintroduced a rider that was in your team the year before that didn’t start the year in your team this needed special dispensation but can’t see that in the rulebook now either (albeit it’s 120+ pages so might have missed it)

Championship KO Cup Draw
gmuncie replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The harm is in how speedway presents itself In a time where we have seen all of the work that has gone on to make the sport look more professional and modern in its presentation on tv etc how do you sell that to potential sponsors and media partners if they then go on the associations official social media and see this. What large company would put their name to something as amateurish If we accept stuff like this as ok then we are accepting that speedway is now an amateur colloquial sport that will never be taken seriously. -
Could argue Gusts and Knudsen were on the sidelines last year as well the amount of meetings they missed

British riders only so your first two wouldn’t qualify

The trouble clubs have is that only the diehards want 2h2a the floating fan doesn’t actually care about this and in some cases see this as a negative. I can’t remember the exact figure but from memory Edinburgh announced that back when it was 2h/2a the crowd for the second time a club visited was down something like 15% on average from the first. The sad thing being most clubs now don’t have enough diehards to break even so if clubs are potentially losing money per match this being made up with sponsorship etc then less matches is a better financial model for clubs.

Jordy Loftus back with the Monarchs, nice bookends to the team in Dan and Jordy

This might be the worst idea yet You would be closing down all but your 8 clubs in the league instantly

Would slot in pretty nicely behind Masters at Oxford as 2nd heat leader
