  1. Edinburgh have the 29th May reserved for a potential home leg of BSN semi, 3rd July for KO Cup semi and 17th July for BSN final on their fixture list so hopefully it is the weeks either side of that that are reserved for all teams progressing in cups, then those that don’t can rearrange any rain offs or other fixtures as required
  2. Ben fund is a 6pm tapes up from memory so plenty of time for an early afternoon p+p then a doddle up to Ashfield
  3. 2025 rulebook there was no minimum amount of matches that I can see but there was a deadline after 75% of a clubs matches. There also used to be a rule that if you reintroduced a rider that was in your team the year before that didn’t start the year in your team this needed special dispensation but can’t see that in the rulebook now either (albeit it’s 120+ pages so might have missed it)
  4. The harm is in how speedway presents itself In a time where we have seen all of the work that has gone on to make the sport look more professional and modern in its presentation on tv etc how do you sell that to potential sponsors and media partners if they then go on the associations official social media and see this. What large company would put their name to something as amateurish If we accept stuff like this as ok then we are accepting that speedway is now an amateur colloquial sport that will never be taken seriously.
  5. Could argue Gusts and Knudsen were on the sidelines last year as well the amount of meetings they missed
  6. British riders only so your first two wouldn’t qualify
  7. The trouble clubs have is that only the diehards want 2h2a the floating fan doesn’t actually care about this and in some cases see this as a negative. I can’t remember the exact figure but from memory Edinburgh announced that back when it was 2h/2a the crowd for the second time a club visited was down something like 15% on average from the first. The sad thing being most clubs now don’t have enough diehards to break even so if clubs are potentially losing money per match this being made up with sponsorship etc then less matches is a better financial model for clubs.
  8. Jordy Loftus back with the Monarchs, nice bookends to the team in Dan and Jordy
  9. This might be the worst idea yet You would be closing down all but your 8 clubs in the league instantly
  10. Would slot in pretty nicely behind Masters at Oxford as 2nd heat leader

  12. Can’t say I’m a massive fan of restricting team building beyond an overall limit but the one over 8 thing doesn’t really weaken the league or teams that much imo This year only 2 teams started with 2 8+ riders these being Berwick and Redcar. The name of the game has and always will be finding riders who can improve their average so restricting teams to 1 8+ rider doesn’t change that.
  13. Don’t forget the (and this isn’t Tigers related really but just because it was them) ’Glasgow are the real champions as they finished top of the regular league table’
  14. Complete one track line tonight if you don’t hit the dirt early and have the commitment to stay there you are going nowhere. Sadly (and hopefully I’m wrong) I don’t think that Hodder/MPT crash will be the last
  15. Dan has ridden 14 heats at Armadale this season and has 12 wins/paid wins and 2 second places good for a 11.43cma so while it may not weaken Glasgow depending on what Nicolai does there is no guest who strengthens them in regards Dan as even if Nicolai goes through the card, Dan may well have done the same. Wood is a definite upgrade on Perry I’d say and as for Lambert/Nagal who knows as Nagal may have scored ten or none as an Armadale debutant
  16. Is that the ‘we are the people’s champions’ or does that risk alienating half the fanbase 😉
  17. I think Hooky gave Tate his Armadale engine to use tonight as well and that certainly helped
  18. I’d be very surprised if Erik is being deemed as withholding his services, a doctors line won’t be hard to get when suffering from his symptoms
  19. A fine accusation you’ve made there any facts or figures to back it up or just having a wee howl at the moon to yourself?
  20. Paid 14 on his return for the Monarchs Academy at Redcar yesterday so looks like he is good to go

  22. Jeez yeah Jordy Nelson was a wide receiver for the Green Bay packers a few years ago, god knows how that was in my head, thankfully wasn’t me writing the release haha
  23. Welcome to the Blue and Gold Jordy Loftus https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2025-06-09/jordy-loftus-joins-monarchs
  24. The slight difference here being that when this fixture was announced none of the missing Oxford riders would have been expected to be missing. the SGP2 qualifier date has been moved twice, Gusts wasn’t in the team and realistically the expectation would not have been that Knudsen would be riding in the Polish top tier. The argument on whether once these were known could the fixture be rearranged is a more complex one but the issue with that being things like the cost of the things that putting a meeting on requires would all have been booked and paid for, sadly speedway clubs in this country can’t afford to take the hit on those. As it was Oxford we’re still competitive albeit without the backing to Masters required to ever really challenge. Would a full Oxford team have done much better? I’m not so sure, they got 15 from Gusts and McDermid’s replacements which would have taken a fair effort from two Armadale debutants, Scott was only beaten by Palovaara x2, Palm Toft and Thomson x2 so not sure Killeen would have done much more and the same for Knudsen as Morley was beaten by Palovaara x2, Sedgmen and Thomson
