  1. Converted National League average maybe as he took a year out of championship?
  2. Oxford - Weakest reserves in the league but best top 5 (sounds familiar 🤔), think they'll be very strong at the start of the season and will be able to hold the top spot though might not be as strong playoff time as I think the reserves will hold them back over 2 legs. Hopetully Erik stays well this season as he'll be scoring big points. Poole - Potentially the strongest reserve pair by the end of the season (though think they'll end up being better away than at home) and a very good 1 and 5. Gilkes just back from a big injury so might be a bit slow at the start but think he'll grow into a very important rider for the Pirates. Kerr and Bowes are inconsistent which could hurt against stronger teams. Glasgow - All depends on how Mario and Kevin do, if they do well (6+ average) Glasgow could dominate but if they are just staying around their 5 point average or lower the team could just struggle to get any momentum. Otherwise probably the most solid team of the 9, Bomber, Howarth and Flint make a very good top 3 and Hodder and Hagon should be a strong pair. Plymouth - As long as Klima rides most meetings I think Plymouth have a great chance this year, lots of experience and will always have the strongest reserve. Really want to see Plymouth do well. Workington - Team relies on Cook in my opinion, if he doesn't disappear the team has a good chance at the league, JJ I think will only get better from last year and Batch is a good rider to have at 3 or 5, if Cook does disappear though I don't think the team can cover him and they'll struggle. Think Tate will come back to form this year and Jakobsen will be interesting to watch. Edinburgh - Solid looking team but I feel Paco, Kye and Sedgeman can disappear at points in the season which could hold them back. Will be interesting to see if Dan can keep up his improvement and see how he does at number 1. Loftus is also an exciting prospect. Berwick - Quite like the look of the team but everytime I predict them doing well the riders all end up in an ambulance by the end of May it seems. Kildemand, Palovaara and Morris make a strong top 3. Redcar - Not convinced by this team, if Ace keeps up last years form they have the strongest reserve pair for the early season (though think Poole's pair will overtake them) and a good number 1 but not convinced there is much improvement in the 2-5. Not enough power in the middle will make it difficult to claw back if they go down early but also will be difficult to build a lead. Scunthorpe - Strong number 1 and I rate Harrison, apart from that nothing much going for them. Maybe they can make some changes when Picko gets an average but who is out there to bring in? Think the 1-3 can be in any order and 4-8 is incredibly close so should be a very entertaining year. Think the favorites all have different strengths so will be interesting to see over 2 legs who'll come out on top.
  3. If he can get back to the level he was at before breaking his wrist and also keep up last years performances at Edinburgh (38+1/42 points scored) he has a chance but he will have to do it at number 1 so will be tough. I think if he can break into the 9 point range and hold it he would have had a great season
  4. He managed to get above 5 at reserve for Glasgow last year. It did drop when he was I the main body but he has shown he can score well, he needs to get his confidence up a bit because he can score well when he has some momentum.
  5. 0.02 over 40 if Andersen is a 5 pointer but he could be a 6 pointer not 100% sure.
  6. Since he skipped a year in the championship he gets a sort of assessed average converted from his premiership one until he completes a meeting that influences his average, then his average goes back to being based on his championship scores from when he last rode in the league. Pretty sure he's guaranteed to drop to around a 9 no matter how well he scores.
  7. How about something like this, not sure about Smith but couldn't think of anyone else to fit in. With a 40 limit I think this could be quite strong. D Thompson 8.50 J Thompson 5.87 K Thomson 5.93 Palovaara 7.35 Paco 7.05 Smith 2.61 Loftus 2.19 39.50
  8. I get that at 42.44, Rowe, Flint, Howarth and Bomber together are 31.15 so the bottom 3 would have to be much weaker.

    Motogp

I believe (also not an expert) that Superbike uses modified production bikes while Motogp are purpose built prototypes. This means that there is more tech on a gp bike which helps them go faster. I see it as Motogp is the F1 of bike racing while Superbike is the GT3 but with less of a performance gap.
  10. If you rearrange the letters in scunthorpe you get 'hup cornets' which sounds like how they say their team name so I think it's fine
  11. Sam at reserve at a track he can perform well on will do him the world of good. A few good scoring meetings to boost his confidence and I think you'll see his overall average fly up.
  12. If that's the point of the league there should be team building rules to allow that but there isn't and we built a team to the rules that didn't even end up winning a trophy so obviously we're not the only ones who can sign the best riders, does our 2024 team look like something a team with infinite money bags would put together? Why should Glasgow take the risk into a top league that is killing every other team that goes into it, giving up our Friday race night and isolating ourselves from our local clubs? Glasgow owners also sponsor the championship, will they stop that to save money in turn starting the championship on a downward spiral? Glasgow's closest club in the top league is Belle Vue, between those two clubs you have not just Berwick and Edinburgh but Redcar and Workington with Scunthorpe around equal distance. Glasgow is trying to get families coming with their kids to enjoy speedway, a Friday night works well since parents don't have to worry about kids getting home too late on a school night. Finally Glasgow isn't a speedway city, the owners have mentioned it before but no one cares if Tai Woffinden of Emil Sayfutdinov are in town, most people who you'd tell would look at you like you're insane. You wouldn't get a big draw of new fans flooding in for these top league names, maybe a couple fans from Edinburgh/Berwick but not enough to balance the increased wages. I understand being a premiership team fan wanting a competitive exciting league, despite all the above points I'd love for us to give the top league a go as long as it means the club won't die in a year but what are the actual benefits to moving up from a business perspective? From your posts it just sounds like you want to punish Glasgow for doing a good job .
  13. How about this for a 40 point limit with only 1 rider over 8, think some of the rider are unlikely but an just an idea of a team structure (hope I got the averages right). Bomber 8.90 Flint 6.95 Nagel 7.39 Harrison 4.97 Zischke 5.43 Hagon 3.52 Hodder 2.63 39.79 Or Bomber 8.90 Flint 6.95 Howarth 7.92 Kevin JP 5.00 Harrison 4.97 Hagon 3.52 Hodder 2.63 39.89
  14. If you are giving up Poland would that not suggest Championship? Thought I had seen something on here about him and Glasgow talking last year when Worrall was ill.
  15. Thought Rushen's weren't allowed in the SGPs?
  16. If Cook wanted to end his season early or fork out a lot of money for mangled bikes then he might have technically been better coming off but I'm not sure if Kyle actually did touch him so the ref might have ended up excluding Zach anyway (personally thought it was a wee bit dirty from Kyle and wouldn't have argued if he did get excluded in this scenario) For the Ace-Tobius one it just depends on the ref, most fans on here seemed to have to think Ace should have went and I'm sure a few refs would agree. I was 50/50 on first watch of the incident and every replay shown made me change my mind so it can just be down to luck, Tobi was the rider on the outside at Poole and he still got excluded for example even though Kyle moved onto his line a bit.
  17. Heartbraking to lose after clawing it back to equal but incredible effort from both teams. 2 equal teams fighting it out over 30 heats and it goes to a golden heat, either team deserved the win but well done to Poole for getting it over the line. Villads engine failure could have been the decider for us but Lawson's and Tobi's exclusions could have easily went the other way so cannot complain. Track took a few heats to warm up but really picked up towards the end, coincidentally coincided with Bomber starting to miss the gate 🤔 Both captains put in true captains displays tonight as well, great riding from both of them. Hard to say if it was a mistake keeping Kyle in the golden heat, Dan looked a bit slow in heat 12 and Villads had an engine failure in his final race. Could have used Leon but he rides the exact same line as bomber wants so they might have gotten in each others way. Hope some of the tension in the stadium made it through on stream, think the fan's heart rates were all higher than the riders.
  18. Hope that engine failure doesn't cost us, think Villads had at least Cook there
  19. Same story as last time, kept them close then dropped it in the last 5 heats where a top heavy team is supposed to be strongest but I think it's still very doable on Friday. Impossible to pass and not that exciting to watch unfortunatly, our riders like sending it wide and pulling their arms out in some grip which you can't quite do here, they're also not gaters aside from Dan which doesn't help but that's home track advantage for you and it's up to our guys to work it out. I can imagine actually being there is a different story entertainment wise, the riders are close together and there was always threats of a pass. Add on a large crowd giving some atmosphere and it could be a great night, it just doesn't come across on stream well.
  20. Hope there is drug testing tonight, Cairns said Poole's one of the best tracks in England on the track walk
  21. Hodder 2.70, Smith 2.68 as of 01/10 so can guest both legs, might be the best guest if Freddy isn't fit for home, not sure about his Poole form though.
  22. Fricke is the only one I agree with finishing 3 points from the top 7 to qualify automatically. Personally I think Doyle is past it at this level, still a great rider at league level but at most can maybe have one or 2 gps with a decent score. Woffy inclusion is a joke to be honest, not had a competitive race since his horrible crash (and barely any/none since the injury before it too) and back in the GPs, what basis other than popularity/sponsors is he back in?
  23. The championship is a very huge jump from the NDL, you're riding against some premiership number 1s and riders that have been at the highest level. Max and Freddy last season were struggling for points (Max was even dropped). At the start of this season they'd have had a good meeting if they scored a point outside of heat 2 but now they're scoring 6+ points and really contributing. While they've not suddenly doubled their average like Cairns did I don't think it was really expected they would. They have definitely had a big improvement, Max and Freddy would run laps around their start of season selves, If they just had a bit better consistency and could carry their home form to more away tracks they would make a significant gain on their average but again it's a tough league so they'll need more time to build on that.
  24. While maybe slightly over excited we scraped though to the final where we only lead the tie after heat 15 against our closest rivals after what was basically 3 do or die heats. The tension in the packed stadium was extremly high and it just released.
