  1. Falcace, did you drive down from Ljublijna to Krsko? how were the roads? We are going this year and have already got our flight tickets and are going to hire a car from the airport. Any advice please.
  2. Why not try Wroclaw, okay the racing might not be as good as Bydgoszcz, but the city square is brilliant for good cheap food and drink (but good quality). The atmosphere around the city is great and at the stadium. The Poles are very friendly and all ages seem to mix happily together from what I have seen. We stay at the Raddisson SAS which is high quality and very reasonable price wise(90Euros for double room a night we managed). Flights from East Midlands direct to Wroclaw were available when we booked.
  3. Thanks all, we have booked up at the hotel Terme now. Hope to see some of you there.
  4. Gemini, you can't really compare Wembley and Cardiff. Don't forget that Wembley was a one off final, and many of the crowd were from other countries. Now I suspect that some of those fans just stay and watch their own countries GP. And also I don't remember Wembley being televised. It would be interesting to see how many people watched the GP's around the world last year on television. I think the GP series and the World cup are great but still could be better. As for attracting people through the turnstiles, I wonder, more and more people are armchair fans and not just for speedway.
  5. I hope who ever wins next year gives the same commitment as Jason has done in 2006, as for Jason himself good luck to him again for next year. Nicki for me is the one who might beat him, why because I saw the mess his arms were in and don't know how anyone can say that he was at his best mid GP's last year, also his less aggressive manner to me is a sign that he is more sure of his own abilities.I would love a Brit to win and still think that Scott can move to a higher level. Gooed luck to them all I say so long as they give us good racing.
  6. We want to go to Krsko in 07 and would like ideas from anyone who has travelled there in 05 or 06. Where to stay and car hire are the main needs. Thanks for your help.
  7. What a great trip, i think this GP was the best for racing i have ever seen. Mal and i met some wonderful people on the trip, it seems that we make new friends at each GP. And as for the Polish people, you are great.
  8. I just hope the weather is warm, suncream covered with a little shale dust is a great way of getting rid of those wrinkles.
  9. I can not argue with what you say Barrow boy, if Hans was British he would still have been in this years series.
  10. Yes AndyM, that is what I mean. Every rider should have the chance to qualify for the series, I can understand the reasoning behind picking a certain few riders from each country, but it still seems a little false to me.
  11. I hope that we have Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris in the GP's next year. Scott is getting better all the time, and his rivalry with Hans Andersen is pushing him to new heights. Don't forget that Hans was dropped from the GP's because he didn't finish in the top eight last year. Now he has hit a patch of form which showes his true class. Scott I think was his equal before this season and I think we may see him become equally as good or close to. As for Chris, he is improving fast and with him and Scott being at the same club, there is bound to be a rivalry growing between them, both wanting to be number one at their club and also the best British rider in the GP series. As for Mark Loram I thgink he is still good enough, but I doubt he will be given the chance. Bring back a full qualification system, and make it fair for all.
  12. If in Ivan's day they had used the GP system he would have won many more World championships. If he had needed to win ten rounds to win the crown, i would bet that he would have done so. That is my view, Mauger was the best because he was the rider who i worshipped, but saying that Jason is my new hero, he is always on the edge, and that's what i pay my money for. Hi Britney it was lovely to meet you, and I'm glad Swindon should make the play off's for you.
  13. I had a perspex program board, it was great for watching Ivan Mauger flying around the boards at Hyde Road.
  14. I'm Amazed, but the city do well I would have thought
  15. The union jack maybe in tatters but I will still wave it when ever the oppertunity allows. As for when will there be a British winner, the next GP of course and the one after that and the one after that and so on.
  16. I never thought of that SCB, but what I can't understand is why we don't build a stadium like Cardiff in the Midlands. If Brum built one with the city night life and great bars in the day, they could make it pay like Cardiff.
  17. I thought that the grass for Cardiff was taken out of the stadium to grow, it's a pity a permenent speedway track base could not be constructed underneath. As for Wembley, I for one am happy with Cardiff. I would hate to think what the costs of tickets would be if it was run at Wembley
  18. What a great win for Jason, no woner he had a huge smile on his face.
  19. I think Tabby3 more or less sums up the situation. Scott is a bit ragged at the moment, I think he and Hans are pushing harder than most to move up to real championship contenders, they are both riding on the edge, just like Jason does all the time. Don't forget to be an average speedway rider is hard enough, so don't be so hard on them. Greg is probably the fairest rider in the GP's but it probably stops him becoming World Champion again.
  20. I can't see Jason do anything else but try and win all the GP's, I don't think he will take the easy way. Have to say I have enjoyed his all out style so far.
  21. All the moaning about team selection and what happens GB put up a great fight, and were unlucky. I predict they will win on Thursday and lift the cup on Saturday night. GB a team to be proud of.
