  1. Superb meeting i really enjoyed that, great effort by Sheffield i was predicting an easy home win so full credit to them, it would have been interesting to see Morris back at Leicester. Congratulations to the Lions dug in and got over the line, still unsure about Becker v R/R though, Good luck Leicester in the final i hope you win it.
  2. If reports he got booed at Sheffield are correct think he wont need much firing up 😉 Sheffield are capable of springing a good result away as we have seen this season a couple of times, But with Fricke who has been brilliant this season, Masters and Douglas also going well its a difficult task, Hopefully Becker picks up his form for the Lions, that was my one doubt with the Lions as R/R worked so well. Having said all that im going for a comfortable home win.
  3. No it used to happen at Wolves, Cradley, Coventry, every club has its clowns.
  4. I always thought Becker coming back could could affect Lions as R/R had worked so well for them be interesting over the two meetings to see if thats the case.
  5. UK clubs are not the priority for riders nowadays, sad but true remember the passion at the Belle Vue v Leicester meeting at Hyde road when you beat us and heat 13 was abandoned and Lions getting a police escort out of the stadium? That was real rider passion for their respective clubs. Think it was in 1971 not sure.
  6. Some on here dont seem to think Polish bosses pull rank, what Brady is doing here could also apply to Emil.
  7. Have to say well done Ipswich, were the better team anyway and would have knocked us out whatever the track conditions, hopefully the weather plays ball for the next semi final and final.
  8. Probably wont ride for us again depending on the structure next year.
  9. And mate you need to get over your Zmarslik can walk on water obsession
  10. If he was going for his first world title Saturday he wouldnt be risking his neck flying round, actually his Polish bosses wouldnt want him riding on this track in these conditions so would probably stop him anyway.
  11. Lets hope the weather is better for Sheffield v Leicester meetings.
  12. No, is the answer to that, UK tracks not for him.
  13. Very true but nowadays riders dont have that type of loyalty/connection to their clubs here.
  14. Poor conditions but Witches having no problems passing.
  15. I said the deficit would be wiped out in six races, track conditions are tricky but we took the better gates winning the toss, surprised at Dan there these type of conditions dont usually faze him, goodnight Vienna now, Brady would be stupid to risk anything here with Saturday in mind.
  16. I wouldnt worry about that i cant see us getting close going off our away form in general this season. Too many passengers.
  17. I know people who were going to attend then found the price increase and stayed at home to watch on tv, i wonder how many others did? It appears the increase in price actually cost them money.
  18. I agree with that, supporters dont have that bond with their clubs that they used to have. When clubs had riders that were their riders that had an affinity with the club it was different, Belle Vue had Wilkie, PC, and Mort, Ipswich J Louis, Sanders, Davey, Kings Lynn Betts, Lee, Leicester Wilson, Coventry Boocock for example, fans and riders had that loyalty to their particular club. Today the riders are hired hands in comparison, but you could say the same about football too, times change and loyalty today is to Poland and the big money. Cant blame the riders considering the risks in the sport.
  19. Talk of Ipswich roughing up the track, i dont think theres any need for them to do that to pull back six points against us, given our performances at Foxhall this season and our weakness at No2 and 6 and 7.
  20. Good points, but it should be a comfortable win for you.
  21. I can see the lead being overturned within six heats, home 4-2 in heat 1 and a 5-1 in heat two and its going to be a long night for us.
