  1. Poole need to stay well away from the prem, i would have preferred Belle Vue to go Championship, more variety and it actually resembles a league, and the same riders with the exception of a handful.
  2. Got to go with a home win but Sheffield could be pushed by an improving Leicester side. The addition of Pickering i think will be the move to bring the Tigers overall success this season.
  3. Impressed with Tarasenko and Niels appeared to have bike problems when those were sorted he looked fast, Worrall terrible, Andersen really needs to call it a day and as for basso there has been quite a bit of hype about him over the past couple of seasons buy when ive seen him not been impressed at all.
  4. Think the Lions will win this one they have been improving since our last visit and can see them developing into a solid unit. I went into the chippy in the shopping centre last time and have to say the fish and chips were good quality. Walked into Anstey to try the real ale in the old hare and hounds, they do food all day too.
  5. I think the Witches will perform better than some of their fans are expecting, im going with a home win 49-41
  6. Totally agree with you, tracks like Monmore were the reason all the top riders made our league the best in the world throughout the seventies alongside the likes of Hyde Road and Somerton Park there was a mix of different styles from big to small, rough, smooth etc, hence why riders stated to win a world title you need to hone your skills on the British tracks and the variety helped their skill set. Today i just think the modern day rocket ships have outgrown some of the more technical tracks yet as Emil has proven the top riders can adapt their skills today. I always remember the great Ivan Mauger saying when asked what was his favourite type of track, i dont have a favourite they are all there to be ridden.
  7. Both meetings produced good racing and were enjoyable, it will be a travesty if we lose Monmore Green, i always enjoy these double headers and my trips down there.
  8. Solid performance from Lions who appear to be settling in at home now, good to see Max back to form, just one of those days for Tigers, Holder and Musielak are quality and will always do their job, disappointing night for Howarth i was expecting more from him around here, Bellego must be a worry and Ellis will be fine once hes collected a few more cornflake packet tops.
  9. I was never a big fan of the GP,s but the series was something new and i embraced it, but it became played out for me a few seasons ago, apart from being mainly a closed shop its becoming a one horse race, Zmarslik was always going to win last season and barring injury and mechanical issues cannot see any serious challenger for his title, hes a great talent and a nice bloke not his fault hes way above the rest but the series is becoming boring.
  10. Bit of inexperience there from Dan i think giving up the inside, good ride from Lindgren at least theres one more race for Tatum to remind us whos world champion.
  11. Having not been for a couple of seasons the work put in was apparent, not a fan of the superheat i dont understand the aversion to a drawn meeting especially when you get an aggregate bonus point, yes we get an extra heat but at one time we used to get a full second half with all the top riders, i thought last night a draw would have been a fair result a point apiece.
  12. No doubt he should be fired up to prove a point tonight, if im being perfectly honest ive thought for a couple of seasons now he hasnt got that much improvement in him as regards to being a major player at GP level, he will always be capable of banging in one big performance as weve seen but then returns to mediocrity. Last season i was expecting him to be up there with Doyle in a weak league but have to say he wasnt the no1 i expected him to be. As i say he should need no extra motivation tonight and would expect double figures from him at least around 11. I like Max hope hoes well after tonight of course
  13. Signed. A lot of people enjoy having a pop at Monmore but now with this news reality kicks in, speedway cant afford to lose another club, these small technical tracks were always a big reason it used to be said in the past a rider needs to ride in the UK to be in with a chance of winning the world title. Times have changed machinery has changed but tracks like Monmore helps riders to hone different skills.
  14. Looking at the teams i would have to go with a home win, im not sure how Kurtz goes round Leicester but a bummer not having a full team, looking at the Lions they look like a team that should go well around their own track. Quick question, if parking at the shopping centre is there a regular bus service into the city centre? Fancy spending some time in the centre as the weather looks decent, cheers.
  15. Terrible news but with greyhounds also in decline and most bets being online now instead of punters going to the track could this be to sell off the site for commercial use? I really hope this doesnt happen, if this goes ahead with Peterborough also under threat i think the sports had it in this country.
  16. I would expect this to be an easy home win based on our performances so far.
  17. Funny how some that complain then go out of their way to justify their own club making a similar move, no actual rules were broken in our case they were manipulated due to the wording of the rules something Poole have been very clever in doing over the years and promoters like Ian Thomas in the past, it took us long enough to catch on after losing out to injuries in the past and we still had two riders out last season in the final, neither case was correct in my mind.
  18. No doubt we are out the cup so im turning up hoping to see some good racing, Wolves tend to go well round our place so think we could have an entertaining meeting.
  19. Not surprised at all after looking at the met office site last night, better than having fans travelling with the threat of rain hanging over the meeting especially on a bank holiday monday.
  20. I always travelled to Cornwall overnight as there is less traffic but as you say you then have to negotiate all the closures, at least the diversions are quieter in the early hours, the motorway network is terrible,
  21. M6 has been an ongoing nightmare for years, had many problems with closures etc when driving down to Cornwall over the past few years, think i will use the A34 Monday as there is plenty of time to get to Monmore.
  22. Agree Lisa but even so 9 last places out of 15 is terrible.
  23. As i was saying Sheffield were the better side, deserved to win, too many last places for us, we didnt deserve anything.
  24. Sheffield have riders that can get round our place, certainly cant take anything for granted.
