  1. Funny how some that complain then go out of their way to justify their own club making a similar move, no actual rules were broken in our case they were manipulated due to the wording of the rules something Poole have been very clever in doing over the years and promoters like Ian Thomas in the past, it took us long enough to catch on after losing out to injuries in the past and we still had two riders out last season in the final, neither case was correct in my mind.
  2. No doubt we are out the cup so im turning up hoping to see some good racing, Wolves tend to go well round our place so think we could have an entertaining meeting.
  3. Not surprised at all after looking at the met office site last night, better than having fans travelling with the threat of rain hanging over the meeting especially on a bank holiday monday.
  4. I always travelled to Cornwall overnight as there is less traffic but as you say you then have to negotiate all the closures, at least the diversions are quieter in the early hours, the motorway network is terrible,
  5. M6 has been an ongoing nightmare for years, had many problems with closures etc when driving down to Cornwall over the past few years, think i will use the A34 Monday as there is plenty of time to get to Monmore.
  6. Agree Lisa but even so 9 last places out of 15 is terrible.
  7. As i was saying Sheffield were the better side, deserved to win, too many last places for us, we didnt deserve anything.
  8. Sheffield have riders that can get round our place, certainly cant take anything for granted.
  9. Max was well capable of going through the card at home, who would have predicted Jack Holder underperforming as he did, we were still missing two riders, broke no rules so get over it
  10. Ive never been a fan of the play offs but i understand the reasoning behind them, yes the semis and final bring in good crowds for 4 teams but throughout the season are they counter productive when you look at the sparse crowds, it seems people are staying away from league matches as they are nothing but a series of qualifying rounds and come out in force for the play offs, so what promoters are gaining on the swings they are losing on the roundabouts, or does the revenue from play offs cover the shocking crowds throughout the league campaign and that would only benefit four teams.
  11. Max might not have been up in the GP rankings with Lambert but Roberts BL average was under and without a doubt Max was well capable of going through the card at home and at least equalling Roberts score around Owlerton, we also going back through the years have fallen fould of certain rules that have benefitted other clubs Its not just a wolves thing.
  12. We lost Bjerre against Coventry r/r and Kurtz last season r/r which cost us two titles so brought in a guest with a lesser average this season with no rules broken. Badly written rules have been exploited for years Matt Ford and Ian Thomas are two that spring to mind and fair play to them despite all the stick Poole got they didnt break rules, interestingly the football authorities are looking into changing the wording of the financial fair play rules as clubs have been using lawyers to get around breaching the ffp, a poorly written rulebook doesnt seem to be just a speedway problem, Man City have been charged with over 100 offences puts all the hot air over Lambert into perspective,
  13. Think the biggest reason you lost was the non performance of your number 1 at the NSS, weve had bad luck in all our finals and suffered some controversal decisions but still lost with good grace, we even lost two riders last season one a Sheffield track specialist so bringing in a replacement for Max with a lesser average which was within the rules was good management, wasnt there some debate on the signing of Kerr at the time too?
  14. Maybe we should have just used Jack Smith for Max?
  15. I received 24 Dec and 31 Dec copies today so all caught up.
  16. Received Dec 17th yesterday still missing the 10th
  17. I bought this weeks at tesco as im missing last weeks and this, dont mind buying it as it supports the mag and in the past when its not been delivered pinegen have sent a replacement then mine eventually got delivered leaving me with two copies. News team were terrible, when i actually got a delivery it was the daily star, will continue as i am at the moment, as it not pinegens fault.
  18. Im now two mags missing no doubt the postal strike, if this weeks isnt here by Saturday im going to get it from Tesco who have it in stock.
  19. Thats the play offs for you, we lost out after finishing top and suffering the obligatory injury,
  20. I wonder how many stay away from regular season matches seeing the as only qualifiers and turn out for the play offs? Could be counter productive.
  21. Ive always thought the team that finishes top at the end of the regular season should be crowned champions and im not changing my opinion because my team are involved, we have finished top and lost out too, injury again. Obviously i want the Aces to win but it wont feel the same as winning over the full season and sitting on top of the pile.
  22. Yes choking is a ludicrous accusation when two riders are out injured, but injuries, play offs, and Belle Vue appear to go hand in hand. Easy home win for me, Sheffields second strings and reserves will own ours.
  23. I dont know all the ins and outs like the Swindon fans but firstly im gutted what has happened Swindon are a great club with a great history and its a disgrace GI were allowed to close down the stadium by stealth under a tissue of lies. I will certainly miss my trips down there always was one of my favourite away days. Hopefully a new facility can be found and we see the club return.
