  1. My excitement for the 26 season is starting to return. Sheffield, the team with the amazing track and fair minded fans is confirmed so that makes 4 and now I see Bomber is confirmed too. And Strictly finishes tonight. Happy days …
  2. I’d be going and I’d drag the mrs along so that would be at least 2
  3. Could it be all those surplus two team scarves from last season’s grand final between Ipswich and Leicester. The teams with the nicest most sporting fans ?
  4. I wonder if Jake Paul fancies a seat on the speedway futures committee. Anyone who can pull in 70 mill for his taking the pi55 fight with AJ obviously has the Midas touch. Something sadly lacking in the custodians of our once great sport.
  5. I’ll have half of what you’re on 👍
  6. If his heart is not in it he has every right to move on from it . The hours, effort and hard work, not to mention expense reserves him that right, 100%. Good luck to him and his family. A speedway family. Used to love watching his dad flying round The Shay alongside KC and Doug Wyer.
  7. Nobody wants to see teams fold . More than enough have gone by the wayside over the years. But if Ipswich and Sheffield don’t complete their sales in time for next season, is a 3 team league a possibility in their eyes ? The alternative being the 3 remaining clubs join the championship. Hey presto .. one big league .
  8. Would it excite you if Ipswich or Sheffield or both didn’t come to the tapes in 26 through lack of a sale in time ? . A 3 or 4 team league. Whilst I’d never want to see people out of work and fans lose their clubs ( I lost Halifax and then Bradford) , the chaos and fall out from this would certainly be eye opening.
  9. Couldn’t agree more with you. Until the sport is put before personal gain then it will always be in the state it’s in. Yes there will definitely be some of them that are pro active, though sadly not enough.
  10. No successful business wants to lose money. They want to thrive in a thriving industry. Which speedway isn’t and won’t be any time soon. No I don’t know their business plan but I know it won’t involve speedway long term. Nobody’s will.
  11. If Glasgow and Poole were in the premiership then that would go a long way to making it more of a prestigious league. One that if they came out on top of, their ambitions would be possibly met. But I’m talking sporting ambitions, not just business ones with local derbies etc. I understand that businesses have to be profitable and sustainable, but therein lies the problem. Everyone is out to look after themselves and not look at the bigger picture of saving our sport. That’s why it’s going down the pan rapidly. And Glasgows business plan will amount to nothing.
  12. I can’t honestly say I have any faith in that lot improving anything in any amount of time really.
  13. So a 5 team league for 2026 it is then. All the debating, second guessing , presuming, forecasting etc about what will happen has in fact resulted in absolutely nothing. If anything it’s gone backwards. A championship where only two ambitionless ( if that’s a word) teams can win it with the rest just making up the numbers. And a so called top league where even two less teams than last year can succeed and you can finish second bottom and be crowned champions??? A thrilling season with record attendances awaits.. in the promotors dreams
  14. Can’t beat seeing the true facts spoken instead of the rubbish just to suit people’s agendas.
  15. Let’s hope this 5 team league provides more fun and excitement than what Mo Salah is getting right now, going by his face like a smacked ar5e look today
  16. If the premiership should be the target for all clubs , the pinnacle as you say, how do you achieve that without a route to it if it’s to be a credible sport? Promotion and relegation could be an answer. Jeopardy, credibility, meanfull meetings would then apply . A total fresh start would be the answer in my opinion.
  17. There in lies the problem. It might not be what everyone wants. So if you don’t want it , please come along and pay your dough anyway. That’s the attitude that’s ruined our once great sport. His surname is very apt.
  18. Agreed . That’s why it’s ridiculous to say he’d only ride for 1 club . He’d ride where he’d get the most dough. Rightly.
  19. How does it go ? If you cut him open he’d bleed black white yellow and blue etc. They’re all mercenaries at the end of the day . There’s no loyalty in professional sport.
  20. Philip Davies the Tory mp from Shipley Yorkshire? He’s promised plenty around that neck of the woods. Still a rubbishhole. Billy bullrubbishter. I have my doubts he can lead us back to the heady days 😁
  21. The Doyle news being another nail in the coffin of this once great sport. From the early days and that magical smell to summer USA test matches at Hyde Road etc . Televised coverage to the point where everyone knew about speedway. It’s been destroyed by those in privileged positions with no regard to the future. But then it’s a different world now. All we of a certain age can do now is reminisce. Today’s generation don’t even have this sport in their mindset. It was always going to reach a conclusion one day. That day has almost definitely come.
  22. Heckmondwike could be an option for a new club in the premier league. But there’s just 3 concerns with it . It’s a 90 metre track . Their average crowd is nowhere near as big as Ipswich and worst of all , they’re only prepared to compete in the championship. Cycle speedway… it’s the future
  23. Scunthorpe could always sign his brother Ronnie. Do you know who he is?
  24. There’s only one Barons . The sadly defunct Bradford Barons .
