  1. Suppose that depends on who your 1 to 7 is really. As well as injuries etc. Hopefully one day you’ll work out that you can’t predict results more than 6 months in advance.
  2. A 5 team league? Will the fans of the team who tops the other 4 seriously celebrate it as a wonderful achievement? It’s embarrassing if you think about it. What a shame its sank to this.
  3. What happens if Sheffield don’t run ? No league meetings. Just straight to the play offs ? Maybe the 4 remaining clubs in the prem should do a Poole and insist on only running in the championship. One big league. Yippee. What a shambles our sport has become.
  4. Great post. That’s it in a nutshell. There has to be motivation to reach higher levels in any sport as well as life in general. This choosing what league they will race in makes a shambles of the sport and goes against everything that sport should represent.
  5. The Polish league have got it right. Promotion and relegation from all 3 divisions. Ambition shown by all teams year in year out. None of this deciding what league they will only race in bollox.. The only team sport in this country that puts up with that crap . It’s only a matter of time before it all goes to the wall . On the plus side United beat the scousers 👍
  6. While continuing to dominate that second rate league 👍.
  7. Kenny Carter used to ride Cradley well didn’t he. Bet he got plenty of stick there too because of his clashes with Bruce .
  8. The team that started my love of speedway was Bradford Northern at Odsal stadium. My dad used to take me from the age of 6 onwards. We used to stand on the first bend and got splattered by the shale on every lap. And that smell !!! Nothing like it . My team included Alan Knapkin, Dave Baugh , Alf Wells . Robin Adlington , Dave Schofield, Alan Bridgett, Sid Sheldrick ( in his white leathers) as well as others . Also the mercurial and sadly missed Gary Petersen. Wonderful days that started it off. Still love the sport now though that’s tested a lot more these days but that’s a different discussion.
  9. Bradford has got the crowd capacity with over 25,000 . The stadium is right alongside motorway network . The track I agree would cost money to upgrade as well as Installing a new safety fence. However Cardiff must have cost a fortune to install the track etc . Manchester must cost plenty to install the extra capacity. Yes everything would be costly. But just imagine a 20 odd thousand crowd at a speedway meeting in this country again and best of all, outdoors. It certainly tops hard to get to Ipswich. If it’s true there was around 10,000 there the other night and the atmosphere was apparently amazing, then almost treble that and you’d have Odsal on gp night.
  10. There’s talk of another Uk venue holding a GP other than Manchester. Ipswich has been mentioned. There’s the infrastructure which they don’t have . Not the easiest of places to get to. Then the all important track that has to produce exciting racing. Which again, they don’t have. Granted the odd exciting race but doesn’t everywhere else. Odsal , Bradford would have both those things. And is tried and tested too. If we’re looking at regular racetracks then I’d look at Glasgow.
  11. Well Tai says he’ll be there or thereabouts if he stays fit . So there you have it woffy doubters….. .
  12. Ipswich have been the best team from day one . They’ve carried nobody. Belle Vue and Sheffield may have the top gp riders but they’ve been let down in other areas. Same with Leicester. They will be deserved champions. But then surprises do sometimes happen. Can’t see it in this case though.
  13. Don’t get too carried away though. You only had to get the better of 3 other teams as I’m sure you’ll agree, the rest were crap. But congratulations. You did the job last night.
  14. Bet they’re all getting on like an house on fire eh . With their half and half scarves on . Needs a few Sheffield and Belle Vue fans down there to liven it up a bit 😁
  15. Would like to have seen Parnitskyi in the lineup as I definitely think he would have added something new and raw and also be unfazed by the opposition. The powers that be obviously rate him by naming him reserve . He’ll get his chance as there’ll definitely be injuries . Difference is he won’t get a run at it and grow into it , just the odd opportunity. As for Tai . Shocked with that though it definitely adds interest.
  16. Don’t take my opinions to heart like you’re doing. The problem with your quartet is they aren’t challengers either except for the odd race . Doyle was but his days at the top consistently are behind him. I’d like to see some new faces to freshen it up. Preferably youngsters who won’t be intimidated. Parnitskyi is definitely one . There’s one . And if the reason behind huckenbeck and kvetch are applied, although not ideal , Becker will be one . I agree it’s hard but like in football with promotion and relegation, you’re guaranteed new faces every year . It’s not stale .
  17. Brady Kurtz is so good . He’s got to start favourite in next year’s gp . Hopefully some of the others will also lower Bartosz colours from time to time to help him achieve it.
  18. It’s looking like Kurtz has got Zmarzlik’s number if going by the last few meetings between the 2 is anything to go by. He’s certainly not intimidated in any way. Hopefully that carries on next season or it’ll be another bore fest in the gp’s . Fricke Michelsen Doyle . I’ve lost count how many gp’s they won between them last season. But yes , they’ll challenge in the odd race so that’ll do.
