  1. Because we would be deluged with SCB press releases saying rider x tested negative for drugs and rider y has a legal sized engine. Neither of these are newsworthy
  2. Yet who were the top 5 in yesterday's Polish Final? The current Polish GP riders (including Janowski and Dudek who many want to get rid of) and those spritely youngsters Hampel and Kolodziej.
  3. Have you checked your medication?
  4. Calling it restriction of trade is not really correct. Those are simply the competition rules. After all nobody shouts 'age discrimination' because SGP2 is restricted to under 21s.
  5. Full details here https://speedwaynews.pl/zuzel/odpowiedz-dunczykow-polacy-z-drugim-miejscem-w-motali/
  6. But Kim did qualify. No system is perfect. The best I can come up with is you, me and 'RacersandRoyals' decide who the best 15 riders in the world are at the end of the season and announce them as next year's field
  7. $9,875,525 in prize money last year. Add sponsorship and it is probably double that. (But still less than Robert Lewandowski I'd guess [salary alone of €18m])
  8. Yes 13 July 2021 heat 3 Jake Allen originally excluded, but after a conversation with the pits Allen was reinstated and Paul Starke excluded. Si Humphrey-Kennett in case you are wondering.
  9. Not sure the rulebook gives an answer, but precedent certainly does, as it has happened before, so I would imagine Bailey will ride
  10. Posters, myself included, rarely hesitate to critisize Discovery (no Australian GP, track surfaces etc) but time to say something positive. SGP 3 has been a huge sucess. The competition has been going since 2010, barely noticed by most, but thanks to its rebranding and broadcasting it has become a major event.
  11. From prog editorial (unsigned) "[Peterborough speedway] is now in the hands of the BSPL. We are unable to make further comment at this stage ..."
  12. Furthermore the 'special' rule covering drug test enforced absence meant that despite the complete silence from Birmingham it looked pretty obvious that this was the cause of Morris' non-appearance.
  13. The Young Lions are always looking for sponsorship https://www.younglionsspeedway.co.uk/partners/
  14. Since May 2021 Leicester have staged matches at Beamont Park on: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Saturday Sunday They did ride a home meeting on a Friday, but it was run at King's Lynn (last November)
  15. Yes, Raak, the Finn is also listed in the averages for Latvia
  16. I clearly stated that I was including all OFFICIAL fixtures. Of course they count, I never claimed to be restricting my analysis just to matches counting for GSA. General rule of statistics, the more data you use the better. I have simply used more of the available data.
  17. Given Andersen's Swedish form, a bit of a turn up! (Good to see that young Latvian Wm Cairns in that list!) 250cc-serien 2023 * Föraren har inte officiellt snitt # Förare Lag Matcher Heat Poäng Snitt 1. Mikkel Andersen * Danmark 7 42 123 2,929 2. William Cairns * Lettland 4 22 56 2,545 3. Villads Pedersen * Danmark 2 12 30 2,500 4. Rasmus Karlsson * Indianerna Speedway 7 40 100 2,500 5. Leo Klasson * Smederna/Örnarna 10 58 134 2,310 6. Dante Johansson * Rospiggarna 5 28 64 2,286 7. Damir Filimonov * Lettland 7 40 78 1,950
  18. Your colleague is right. Ronnie Moore was the true master of team riding
  19. The stewards dealt with it well and I'm sure it was an isolated incident. I have made many enjoyable visits to the NSS both before and since.
  20. No you have only included Premiership matches, King has also ridden in 3 Cup matches
  21. http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/averagelist.php?mc1=x&mc2=a&mc3=y&mc4=x&search=all&sort=average&meets=All&bp=not&hora=all&num=&league=A&oleague=A&mleague=A&above=&lower=&upper=&below=
  22. 2023 all official fixtures (exc bonus)) King is 11th making him not just the best third heat leader but a pretty decent second one. He has a better average than all the Wolves riders bar Masters. So based on actual points scored in real matches King is more than doing his job (and his average is up on last year)
