Surely you mean Huggy Gord. The reason there is a lack of atmosphere now compared to the Norties is the team then were very fan freindly. A chappie i know use to sponsor a rider back then. The rider in question always made time for him prior to the meeting and had a drink with him after the meeting. The same Chappie then sponsored another rider when we moved up into the Elite League. When he paid the rider a visit prior to the meeting, the rider completely ignored him and in fact had no idea who he even was. Thats just one example of how things have changed. Ive said it before the top riders in the Elite League now are just Hired Guns. Tuesday Night Sweden, Wed Night UK, Thurs Night Denmark, Sunday Poland, throw in a couple of individual meets into the mix. Trees question for you. Would you prefer it now or back in the day when we had the likes of Doolan TT etc ? Or going even further back to the days of Betts, Turner, Hellsen etc ? The Sport has lost its way. Trees we all have opinions on the sport and indeed The Stars. Look at yourself when Lynn Dropped out of the Elite and Into the Prem, who threw their toys out of the pram over that one ?

Some people see the light a lot earlier than others.

If riders can miss a few meetings for your club while they ride for one of their X Number of other clubs then no harm supporters missing the odd few meets.

The build up for a City game starts way before match day. The PR that you find on the net and EDP Social media is massive. When you arrive at Carrot Road you can cut the atmosphere with a knife the excitment level is massive. It then builds duing the period to kick off, players out on the pitch warming up etc... Then The Guy on the mic really ramps it up. Its Noisy, its exciting, it colourful you just get carried along on the wave of expectation and excitement. The time flys by, then when City score the place errupts, players running over to receive the plaudits from the fans and of course its freely given. Players supporters all in it together. They are City fans and City Players. Those players are on decent money, but its all about the passion for them, giving their all for the Club, Team and its supporters. Its called Entertainment. Any Bits Ive missed Baggy ?

Thats Brilliant on your part GRW, and that works for you. However, we are not all the same. Some people cannot afford to throw £50 ( 2 PEOPLE, FUEL PROG, EATS, DRINKS) every week at Speedway. For that kind of money should people not expect something in return, like that old fashioned word called entertainment ? For me, to stand out in freezing cold weather watching precessional Speedway is not high up on my priorty list these days. If that makes me fine weather supporter/ occasional supporter, well I can live with that. Maybe You could consider it mght not be the fault of the supporter but the the fault of what the Sport now has to offer for the price asked. Speedway has stiff competition for the £ these days.

Well thats me out of the equation then. I have never been called a Dosser although I have to admit it has sounded pretty close to that. I think by the time you get here the Queue will have stretched back to the Southgates.

You could say maybe, just maybe GB has something special on their hands. Or should we be getting the bunting out over 2 riders coming up for 30. -

What can you say about a track that makes two Premier League riders look World beaters ? As for Kenny B he will get himself sorted. Form is temporary class is permanent. I can't read to much into that result today, but I know where my money would go out of these 2 teams for a play off bet -

Kevin Doolan is an interesting choice as guest. Not sure that we wouldn't be better with R/R. Can think of one Stars fan who will be pleased though -

Interesting reading about Young Lambert and him winning races from the gate. Last season is gating was the main thing letting him down. Anyone know why the change over the winter ? -

Who can take Porsing's rides ? Would Ben Morley be available to replace Kerr or is he racing elsewhere. Garrity looks a good call though. This meeting last season saw PUK hit a 21 pointer max.. Robert Lambert also went well there. -

World Class Kennett ? All I can think is the term World Class is very much over used. World Class to me, capable of mixing it at Grand Prix level. Saddlebow has never been a favourite track of Kennetts. I really think he has found his level in the Premier League. -

I agree Trees, to a point. Then again do you feel like a fan these days at Lynn or just a customer ? I am sure the fans would more than do there bit, but it is something that has to work both ways. Fans dont want to feel or be treated like customers, but I am afraid thats the way things feel at Saddlebow right now. Buster could do a lot more. For example last week was only a glorified freindly yet he charges top dollar for it. This week we have the meeting live on Sky yet no mention of reduced admission to try and encourage the Fans to attend. Long gone are the days when all Speedway Promotions had to do was throw open the gates and wait for the fans to hand their cash over. Will Lessons be learnt before it tips itself over the edge ? -

Does Buster have anyone doing any form of marketing these days ? His Boy was very good at that, and as far as I am aware he has not been replaced at either the Speedway or the football. I understand the fan base at The Football has dropped off alarmingly. The other person that is proving to be a massive massive miss is of course Mike Bennett. That was always going to be a tough one to replace. The guy was a total pro and understood the Sport, and he had that certain way about him around the riders. Tough act to follow. -

Promotions dont want meets over too quickly, they need to sell their over priced food and drink. GRW had the right idea last night, he said he was taking his own. -

Of course Buster gets it wrong, from time to time. He is human. People seem to forget he only took the job on a few years back, after Huggy was ( cough) moved on. Now that guy was a real a real Craftsman. I dont remember him EVER producing a dodgy one. Mind the Memory isnt what it once was. -

Sounds very much like I made a good call in not going. As for an Interval, well there can only be one reason for that. Looking forward to the proper opening meeting next week, weather permitting. -
