Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
Col replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Dire stuff. I expected Leicester to win, but wasn't expecting to be this one sided. Next Monday will be even worse viewing. -
Wolves -v Belle Vue 10th/11th October Ko Cup Final
Col replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It really is a Premiership select team that face BV. -
I don't think there is any way Vaculik will score 18 points in Australia, so Lindgren's spot is assured. Either way I would say both (Lindgren & Vaculik) deserve a Wildcard. Hancock deserves a Wildcard. A Dane will get a Wildcard. I'd chose Iversen if fully fit, if not then Jepsen-Jensen. Sorry Pedersen fans, he just wasn't looking competitive this year. And Madsen has never done anything to suggest he would be competitive at GP level. Then it is to me, a straight choice between Milik & Lebedevs. And I would give it to whichever one wins the SEC, unless Jonsson or Laguta overhaul both in which case I would give it choose Milik for his performances in the GP's this year. Both Holder & Lindback have has dire series. The only form Lindback has shown all year was at the SWC, when he was admittedly superb.

Can't happen can it? Assuming Kildamand has a spot in the Polish Ekstraliga. If the Polish Ekstraliga continue to demand that any rider riding in it only competes in 2 other leagues, one of them being their 'domestic' league. Is Kildemand going to not ride in the Elitserien so he can ride in Britain?

Yes, the E&S is rubbish. There are rumors that Cradley won't be able to run the following closed season, every closed season if still based at Monmore. But what else are Ladbrooks going to do with that Stadium? Greyhound Racing only accounts for 2 evenings & 3 afternoons. As for Wolves 2018. Who knows with regards to injuries & potential restructure of leagues, surely Lindgren & Greaves will be retained if possible. As Piotr Pawlicki has absolutely no chance realistically making the top 8 in this years SGP (18 points behind 8th placed Zagar, with Vaculik & Holder in between) could he be tempted back? Unlikely, but it would be a hell of a coup if they could.

Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17
Col replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No he didn't Bellego won from the gate, BWD lifted on the back straight to allow Greaves through. Schlien's good ride was heat 12. Which was probably the last heat worth watching of the night. Whether he could have breezed past Musielak had Musilak been riding his own bike rather than Morris bike is a different matter. And no doubt some numpty will say "Morris bike looked quick enough in heats 13 & 15 hahaha" but a riders bike setup is surely personal. -
Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17
Col replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Still not perfect tonight. Riss should have been in heat 8, Greaves in heat 9. I thought the track was awful in the later heats, but it started off Ok. I don't expect many passes at Swindon but Jan O Pedersen (circa 1988) could have had 30 laps to pass Nigel Leaver on that track after heat 15 & not got close. Thought Carr should have been excluded heat 2 & no way did Morris make the 2 mins in heat 13. -
I have 0 sympathy after Monday. If Belle Vue had signed a rider who can control a Speedway bike rather than simply chasing dirt in hope of drive as Tungate does. Thorsell wouldn't have a broken vertebrae. The meeting would have been over by heat 10 tonight. I have not seen tonight's meeting so can only comment on what others have posted. Lindgren probably wouldn't have felt under as much pressure to score heavy, so probably wouldn't have made a mistake that took other riders down. He is not a dangerous rider generally. He had his moments in his youth. I never Wolves want to win the league again, but after Tungate's actions Monday I didn't want BV to win either. Now I have sympathy for Wolves & I pretty much hate Rosco. Why can't Leicester win the league.

Sheffield V Ipswich 1st Leg 28/0917
Col replied to Moranboys's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Absolutely gutted I couldn't go to Owlerton tonight, due to circumstances.. It has been too long since my last visit. Despite everything the Tigers seem to have put themselves in title winning position. If Sheffield win, who does Bates ride for in the Leicester relegation/promotion play off? I could repeat the same question if Ipswich win, who does King ride for? -
Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
Col replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is Leicester v either Sheffield or Ipswich? Busy night for Danny King as Sheffield have been crippled by injuries. What a joke. -
Why would any team sign either Holder? Signing both or either Kurtz is bad enough. Go on Poole make my day & sign all four.
-
Why are you being so negative? Thorsells injury was unfortunate. Lindgren can take an R/R, which means if he is on his game he can score 18, he is a class above every Belle Vue rider, this year. If Schlein, Riss & Masters can add a few second places Wednesday, 13 points is a defend-able advantage to take to NSS. Howarth & Greaves need to nick a few thirds also.

Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
Col replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I just caught up with this on the TV box. What an awful meeting it was. Poole were dreadful. The track was awful. The referee was awful. Heat 8 was it's only redeeming feature. -
Swedish Elitserien Championship Cup
Col replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
How messed up is Swedish Speedway. If Smederna win the league & Piraterna are relegated The bookies, if betting on speedway is allowed in Sweden will be aghast. I still don't get how the playoffs are decided. Unless the league table on the SGP site is wrong. Have Dackarna & Lejonen broken rules? -
Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
Col replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Neither am I, but he deserved to be World Champion last year. I am not certain he will this year, I think one of Woffinden (who looked out of it a few rounds ago) & Janowski will pip him too it. I don't see Dudek winning the series overall, but he has been very consistent. -
Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.
Col replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This was the first time I have ever seen a meeting from Rye House, the odd YouTube clip in the past didn't fill me with much excitement at the prospect. But I didn't think it was a bad meeting at all, I'd rather watch that racing than what is usually served up on TV's visits to Swindon & Leicester and in the past Lakeside & Eastbourne. -
I'm sure getting Holder & Batchelor on 14.99 for next year having made a mockery of Kings Lynn Speedway will soften your KK loss.
-
Would THJ commit for a full season? Will other clubs offering bigger pay packets come calling? Do you really want to rely on him, he's a bit on a nomad. No Dane with a spot in the Ekstraliga is going to ride in Britain. Your 3 current Danes are difficult to judge, they blow very, very hot & cold. The first rider you should try to sign next year is Lebedevs. He hasn't got a GP spot by right, so will be relying on a Wildcard unless he wins the SEC, if that gets him a spot. All very political. If riders from smaller Speedway nations, Zagar & Vaculik qualify, I don't rate his chances. I would suggest Lambert stays, but for his own progression he maybe better served having a year away. Depends if he can get a regular spot in Swedish Elitserien and a spot in the Polish Nice League. Which would be better for him than spending another year in the Championship. Surely P'boro, would be an easier commute, than Newcastle. And it is a new track to get used to.

Kings Lynn Vs Wolves ( Double Header) 23.08,17
Col replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hope the racing was good, else it would have been a fairly depressing night to be a Stars fan. -
Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 21/8/17
Col replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shovlar has been a long time Poole forum marketing machine. I have been to Wimbourne Rd twice, while holidaying in the area. P'boro's visit in 2012 was reasonable racing wise, Lakeside's visit in 2016 was pathetic. They have had their stinkers at that track on Sky & had a few epics. Until this year, when turns 1&2 have appeared to be little more than a bouncy castle, who can stay on the bike. I love the racing at Sheffield. Never been to any track further North. Ipswich meetings I have never bothered watching when televised, track is horrible, or at least was last time I watched a televised meeting from it. Smallmead was also dishwater drivel when televised, I went once as on a training course from work in Bracknell. The most interesting thing as where was that horrible stench coming from. Never been a fan of EoESg racing, having visited a few times and watched televised meetings. The rider that can get his front wheel but not his back wheel over the white line on entering the first corner then wipe out any other rider speed off as he barely turn the bike until mid corner and near the fence gets 3 points. -
Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017
Col replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You can say many things about Billy Janniro but he was the last rider who regularly graced these shores who could properly team ride. I thought Scott Nicholls did a good job when the opportunity presented itself when he was last involved in a televised Speedway meeting. The irony that Billy Janniro, Sam Ermolenko & Bobby Schwartz are without doubt the best 3 team riders I have ever seen when they come from California where there is almost no team Speedway is not lost on me. Not sure I have ever seen Adams have the opportunity to team ride properly on a regular basis. Allot depends on the two riders on track chemistry, at Dudley Wood Alan Grahame alongside Phil Collins, Simon Cross or Jan O Pedersen was fantastic. When paired with Gert Handberg it just did not work. I have watched little Speedway other than that on TV in recent years, the last time I saw a pair operating in total unison was Gary Havelock & Tony Rickardsson for Arena Essex. That wasn't a bad meeting from Blunsdon, having just finished watching it, better than most televised meetings at the Abbey. Shame Kings Lynn don't have a "big gun" who may have got them a point, they're team that is basically based on the hope they will not finish last, to win. 7 riders averaging 8-5. It is a shame they have been forced into this position due to Holder & Batchelor's lack of man sacks.
