Rebels got away with a point they shouldn't gave got. Fair play to the Lions select team for adapting to the track after a poor start. Lynch should surely have used the tactical on Starke when he was off gate 1 in heat 7, even a 5-3 is better than a 3-3 as Bewley hadn't looked great all evening. Even so the Rebels were saved by the rain believe Leicester would have had the choice of gate positions in heat 15 by which time Nicholls & King were flying. Two terrific rides. The best was Nicholls in heat 11, to stay behind the slower Riss when there was only one real racing line while keeping Lawson at bay. Wright in the following heat was almost as terrific. Newman in heat 14 also note worthy. Unfortunately it didn't help either teams cause in the long term, dropped points for the Rebels who due to the recent poor form of Poole, the team changes Kings Lynn have virtually been forced into & Rye Houses lack of form all season had a sniff of a play off spot. The 2 points will do little help Leicester avoid the wooden spoon.

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17

Hilarious result. Clearly Kasprzak is not in next years plans as he didn't average reduction memo. -
Rospiggarna from champions to relegated?

King's Lynn V Somerset 7/8/17(£10 Adults)
Col replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just watched this meeting without knowing the result. Congrats to the Rebels on a well deserved away win. Fairly gutted for Kings Lynn who are experiencing an awful year, but at least you had 7 riders that tried throughout the night. Palm Toft & Porsing were absolutely dreadful. Unlucky with Huckenbeck's chain snapping which was crucial. I do wonder how long it takes a van with two bikes in it to get from Vetlanda to Kings Lynn, but THJ did not disgrace himself. -
I quite agree, but he is not South Coast certainty next year.

I cannot comment on the racing since I was not there, but have heard it has not been up to usual standards of late. This was a tough fixture for your new recruits without doubt. Swindon have been on a roll with or without Doyle. Personally I cannot comment on the state of the track for the visit of Poole. But Holder going AWOL was expected. I've never had much faith in Batchelor doing anything that wasn't in the best interests of Batchelor. So maybe he is hoping for a South Coast return next year. They have their wish, low averages so if Fatt Maud doesn't mess up his team building next year, the Pirates are all set. Lets hope any other club is capable of ruining their party

Mostly sums up my feelings towards Speedway in this country.

What a result for Wroclaw.

Wouldn't see the point in using Kasprzak in heat 15, even if he is the Rockets best rider on the night. which is entirely likely. If he is a reserve he could have 7 rides prior to heat 15, may as well win the meeting before heat 15 if you can.

Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
Col replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why? Because he has never tried to kill anyone on track? I agree that Janowski is as likely as anyone to have a stinker of a round for no apparent reason, as consistent as he has been I don't see Dudek winning a final. -
Swindon V Poole Thurs 27/07/
Col replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I have been pretty surprised by how well Morris & Bellego have performed which has been the Robins bonus. Tobias Musielak will undoubtedly improve things and hopefully Ellis can recapture some form while at reserve. Robins are set fair to make the play offs now, along with Wolves & Belle Vue. It is a shame Kings Lynn have underperformed. A playoffs without the Pirates would be a blessing on the sport in this country. Somerset winning away was a start, we just need a competitive Leicester. And a return of the Bee's, and a few more top level teams, a few teams moving from conference to championship and we'll be set fair! -
Would it not be hilarious if they got relegated. That was some bad team building that went on.

Poole Pirates Vs Somerset Rebels 26/07/17

Well done Lawson, Wright et al. Isn't it fun when the riders you use as guests on an almost weekly basis previously come back to bite you on the ass. That result has made my week. -
Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
Col replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Doyle should have won last year when he was a class apart, from June on wards. He has not quite reached that level this year. The accident he was involved in was certainly not his fault, I guess that makes it worse mentally to get over. Have to say on a World scale Janowski has sadly been a class above in the last 6 weeks. -
Just watched this, recorded on BT last night. Hats off to Tungate, Bjerre & Bewley who won the meeting for the Aces. Sentiment has no part in Speedway, Aces will struggle to win the playoffs with Smith in the 1-7, although he was better tonight than he has been when I have seen him before. That could well in part be due to Wolves failings. Not that Greaves or Perks looked that bad, could be the track. I do wonder what Adams was thinking, Lindgren could have 6 rides, why put him off gate 4 for 50% of those rides. Wolves were fairly poor Masters aside. Considering the performances of Schlien & Barker at the British Final, they were poor.

Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 19/07/17
Col replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done the Robins, you are on a roll. -
If KL can dump every rider except Huckenbeck & Lambert, bring in Lebedevs & Milik do it. Win 46-44 at home, lose 75-15 away in appalling fashion. Get all riders low averages, bring on next year. I hate British Speedway, it is corrupt to the core. Holder has achieved his goal of having a low average to return to Poole next year and quite frankly Batchelor is even more disgraceful. Pulling out of his home match for the team he has signed for, a team that first gave him a chance in this country (if I remember correctly) then guesting for Swindon away twice in a week. The first time a day after his wrist was "injured".

Leicester Lions Vs Swindon Robins 17/07/17
Col replied to The Observer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just watched this recorded meeting. If Leicester naming a #8 is still allowed and that rider could have taken a ride I hope from this point forward Leicester always name a #8. Hope all the injured riders are not badly injured. Hope Eric Riss thinks about where his team mate could be in the future. Fair play to Swindon for taking advantage of Leicester misfortune. -
As long as it is Belle Vue, Swindon, Wolves, Rye House, Leicester or Somerset I don't care. I mostly hate British Speedway.

Rye House V Wolves Saturday 15th July.
Col replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In average reduction mode, as is Lindgren. Let Schlien, Howarth & Masters score the points - Lindgren & Thorsell are coming back next year. Their play off spot is all but confirmed, Wolves will not lose at home, why win away when they can pick up the odd point & send the home fans home victorious? Political gain. Thorsell was mentioned by many Swindon fans as being the only real guest replacement for Doyle in some threads, so they obviously rate him in Wiltshire. -
Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 17/07/17
Col replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ford too bung Lindgren & Thorsell enough dosh, so they only look like they are trying, but score very little. Yet Pirates to inept to win anyway. 46-44.
