  1. WTF was the music they played when Laguta was on top of the rostrum? Didn't sound like the Russian anthem..... I haven't watched any podiums all season so they could have played that music all season.
  2. Looks like it's all over, can't see Zmarzlik making up 9 points on Laguta for 1st. Lindgren making up 9 points on Sayfutdinov for 3rd or Madsen making up 16 points on Woffinden for 6th. Didn't think the racing was bad last night, watched 10 heats before going to the pub and the rest when I got back, but not as good as some Ekstraliga meetings I've watched from Torun this year. Can't understand why the FIM people take over track preparation/grading/watering, just let the guys that do it week in week out for the league meetings look after it, they clearly know it better.
  3. Ah yes, was engrossed in the grand final of autobiography wars on TalkSport, didn't read anything, wasn't reporting as cancelled on BSPA site when I checked before posting but it is now. Not sure I can do next Saturday, as I'm working.
  4. What's weather like in Leicester this morning? Can I pay by card on the gate or is it cash only?
  5. Haha. If J10 is shut I'll get on M5 and trip my way along the Black Country Route, should be empty by the time I hit it.
  6. The weather forecast for Saturday is not good but all being well I will be there for second leg, my first visit to Beaumont Sports Complex. My first "new" British track since NSS opened. What is car parking situation?
  7. With the rolling averages they can't change as much. How Castagna remained at reserve with Shanes & Grobauer in the team is beyond odd.
  8. An Edinburgh fan I was fortunate enough to spend the evening talking to said Riss was likely to give British Speedway a miss next year, doesn't like the tracks. Don't think he's been intentionally lowering his average, has had a poor season for Kings Lynn also. Certainly not the rider who romped to a 15 point maximum for Redcar in 2019.
  9. So that's it... season over. Time for grades. Harris.. B- most entertaining rider at PB, misses the gate too often but always has. Grobauer. F. Anonymous in terms of racing & scores. Morris. C. Inconsistently infuriating. Shanes. E. Can be the fastest rider at PB, after the first lap Performances have deteriorated badly as the season came to an end. Riss. D. Not the heat leader I thought he'd be. Castagna. B+. The only reason Brummies win at home. Thomas. C+. Has got better, can be too tentative at times when track is tricky. Promotion. D. Nobody wants to hear promoters whining. Track Staff. Z. Just awful, dusty, bumpy, unraceable, inconsistent... everything you don't want.
  10. Absolutely terrible performance from the hosts, 3 heat wins all night for the Brummies. Track offered little, one line an inch from the fence. Edinburgh only needed 4 riders, 2 of whom got full maximums. Harris wasn't gating but was involved in the only two heats which can be considered "races" of the night, heat 13 battle for a point with Worrall and heat 15 with Pickering. Thomas and to a lesser extent Morris performed acceptably and if that was the real Grobauer its a shame he didn't show up in May. Hat's off to Ruml & Kemp, barely scored a point between them but at least they were trying different lines in an attempt to pass. Hopefully that immediately forgettable meeting won't be the last at Perry Barr.
  11. It was OK last week, the evening closures stopped on 17th September I believe. But it was shut all weekend. If I know the M6 J10 is bad I can go M5 & Black Country Route home, yes it's slower but it's far from disastrous.
  12. Dillon Ruml was Plymouth's best rider on their visit to PB.
  13. My attendance at this is dependent upon me finding a petrol station in Wolverhampton that sells some unleaded petrol!
  14. Weaker. Two rides for Castagna, one each for Shanes & Morris. Unless averages have changed recently. Frankly two rides for each reserve is likely to yield more points than Grobauer.
  15. It wasn't a great advert for Speedway but conditions taken into account it was decent, enough. Just shows the benefit of having a few riders who'll give their all regardless of track conditions rather than riders who only bother when the track suits them
  16. Just out of interest, with Bewley & Woffinden becoming Ekstraliga winners, who was the last Brit to win it?
  17. Err don't two 1-5's (however unlikely) make it 45-45, 90-90? Or if that happens do Wroclaw win because they finished higher in the league (or got the aggregate bonus in the league)?
  18. Release Sayfutdinov sign Bellego WTF? Did Leszno get bored of winning?
  19. Midlands The track cycling is in bloody East London! Allot of the events at Birmingham Uni.
  20. Well if that was the final outing for the Diamonds and the final league meeting at Perry Barr it was as forgettable as it was historic. Dusty from heat 1. Newcastle generally subdued with the exception for Barker. Heat 5, what I could see through the dust looked a cracker. Harris seemed to have an extra 50cc to everyone else, didn't matter if the gated, didn't need to. Smart first corners and riding the fence. Roynon winning heat 14 made me smile, allot of water under the bridge, broken bones & years have passed since he was a Brummie. But for injuries he'd have broken the PB track record that year many times easily and been so entertaining in the process. Still not sure how Brummies didn't score 60. The awarded heat was a dreadful decision. Shanes was up Wright's exhaust and Roynon was up Shanes' when Thomas fell.
