I'd forgotten Wictor Lampart when I said Jakub Miskowiak would be stand out Ekstraliga reserve! Understood on new rules mean Doyle had to move (didn't stay to upto date with stuff over winter), Lindgren & Madsen have been with Lions for a few years and are at least his equal (apart from 2016 & 2017). I'll only really notice Poles I've never heard of before when they beat someone I wouldn't expect them to beat - see Pawliczak earlier. Swidnicki was exciting to watch last year, if Częstochowa have 3 capable reserves that's a real bonus for them, any other young Poles to keep an eye out for?

I may have been harsh but compared to Zmarzlik's first outing of the year I know who looks more likely to be World Champion this year! They will surely be the main contenders (again). I suspect had it mattered Woffinden would have put more into heat 15 and suspect he didn't have set-up quite right in his first outing (often seems to happen to him), was better in 2/3/4 rides.

Should be a barn storming affair in Częstochowa later, I'm sure Doyle & Semktala will be looking to show their former employers what they are missing out on. Could the Lions not afford to keep Doyle? I don't follow Polish speedway that closely but Miskowiak could be the standout reserve this season, what happened to Swidnicki?

Just YoutubedFridays action. Torun did much better in Worclaw than I suspoected. Disappointing first & last rides for Woffinden, you'd have thought he'd be able to get the better of both Holders on his home track. Dropped less points to Torun than his fellow Wroclaw GP riders I guess. Until heat 14 - Good night for Bewley, looked quick, got a good heat wins in 10 and held off Lambert in heat 12. Lambert will surely be disappointed to be out performed by Przedpełski & the Holders. Great heat 14 win for Lambert over Laguta who seemed to lack pace, Bewlwy disappointingly last. Meeting almost completely devoid of passing, Miedziński & Chugunov both poor ^ I can't get used to hearing Lewandowski during a speedway meeting. I do wish the before heat graphics would indicate which Holder brother it is, can't tell until heat 1 is complete and the in-race graphics pop up. More passing first 2 heats in Zielona Gora than all night in Torun. Who is Pawliczak? Never heard of him (nor surprising as I don't follow Polish speedway that much), but good heat win over Pr Pawlicki, Protasiewicz & Bjerre. And again in heat 11 over current/former GP regulars. Much better meeting with decent racing almost every heat. The Pedersen v Fricke/Zagar v Kasprzak being the pick of them. Pedersen (in particular) & Pawlicki kept the meeting closer than I thought Grudziadz would but comfortable home win.

Three big home wins before Leszno's visit to the City of the Black Madonna.. Which I'm not brave enough to call, losing at home will have hurt the Champions, Bulls may have advantage as Lions haven't raced yet but the home reserves should have beating of visiting 6-7. Will Torun manage 30 points. Dont think so.

Premiership League Prediction 2021
Col replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looking at that bunch of poor excuses for top tier teams. Sheffield will romp it, only resistance on the other side of the Peninnes. I might have a lower age than the Panthers average age! -
Just YouTubed my way through the completed round 1 meetings. It's good Torun got a win at home, it's no good for the club or the league as a whole to have one team adrift at the foot of the table. Not sure they'd have won but for Zagars fall & exclusion in heat 13, until then Dudek was looking peerless in this company. Reasonable debut for Lambert stuck at #8 although I don't think he'll be savouring future heats paired with Miedzinski. Is this a season to far for Protasiewicz? Time will tell, sure he'll perform better at home. Torun will come unstuck against Wroclaw, Gorzow & Leszno when it matters home & away. Speaking of Leszno wasn't it nice to see them lose at home! Time will tell if they will regret allowing Smektala & Kubera to leave so they could keep Lidsey, I suspect they will. Interesting Pawlicki exclusion from the coming together with Karczmarz although I suspect correct having eventually seen the footage of the action as they went down the back straight - looks like he caught Karczmarz footrest as he passed. From all other camera angles shown it looks like Karczmarz turned into him after being passed. Zmarzlik's form looks frightening for his GP opponents.

Birmingham Brummies 2020

I would expect Harris & Riss to be able to ride the track no matter what the conditions, I'd worry about Shanes & Castagne more. -

The outside will work later in the meeting, more important to keep the inside grippy. Shanes passes mostly on the inside & Castagne refuses to venture far from it! -

You think I have an issue with watching competitive meetings? That is all I wanted. -

Just had a quick look at the declared teams.. Glasgow look strong. Eastbourne & Leicester look as good as Brummies. Think Newcastle could pull off a few surprises. -

Pretty sure it's down to Government not club decision. Poland are in full lockdown currently, I believe. No idea on infection rates in Germany, Poland, San Marino or Albania. -

It's been suggested that Robert Lewandowski may not be able to represent Poland against England in a Football World Cup qualifier on Wednesday as he can't leave Germany, where he plays for Bayern Munich, to enter his home country. So I'm not convinced Wittstock will be riding many fixtures! Speedway authorities don't have the funds to throw at testing football does. -

I was a doubter, unimpressed quite frankly with the first 6 signings but always said one very good heat leader added to that 6 could make a decent team, Riss was the best visitor I witnessed in 2019 at Perry Barr. I haven't looked at any other team line-ups as yet so can't comment on how competitive I think this team will be as yet. -

Pedersen? As in B*yawn*e? If do Harris will feel like a spring chicken! -

Erik Riss was superb when visiting Perry Barr for Redcar a few years ago - the Brummies "Couldn't land a blow". Let's hope Covid restrictions allow. -

Being at tapes in 2021 is no more fortunate for Brummies than any other team & I'm sure absolutely every other championship team will field a stronger line-up than Birmingham who have had my season ticket money for 16 months! I'd really love the final rider to make the team competitive but I just can't see it happening. Harris, Morris, Castagne & Shanes signings fine. Basis of a decent team, it's what you put around them. Thomas fine... If you sign two riders above Morris in the averages... Another second string, fine if you plan to have Harris as second heat leader... It could still happen, I just don't see it. -

Building a team way below the points limit is absolutely insanity & wreaks of penny pinching. -

Well ... 1 never quite managed to gate GP winner, 3 reserves & 2 second strings look good, any possibility of a rider who can win a heat? -
Four qualification rounds will take place on May 1st and 8th. The competition will be hosted in Plzeň - Czechia (01.05.), Debrecen - Hungary (01.05.), Pocking - Germany (08.05.) and Rivne Ukraine (08.05.).
