  8. Due to some unforseen circumstances, there is a spare place with Chivsy Travel for Big Josh in September. If anyone is interested it is from the Thursday to Monday. Send me a PM if you are interested
  9. So tell us all the date you have booked then Nickat?
  10. I didnt want the stresses and strains of having to choose two riders on a saturday night every few weeks
  11. superguest, some tips for you tomorrow contact ryanair and explain due to the problems today that you were refused check in etc etc etc - they should give you an address to write to to claim back a refund. If they say you cant just ask them for their Customer Services address anyway - they have to give you that. Put in writing the whole episode, including what you were informed by their staff and send it off to them. If you had got travel insurance booked for your weekend, also contact them and ask them what you need to provide them with as you will be losing money on accommodation and stadium tickets. You will also be able to claim something back on that. I know you would have preferred to be in Sweden, but you will get some kind of compensation back through these methods which I am sure will soften the blow.
  12. Also FWIW, with the weather conditions last week there wouldn't have been one track in England that wouldn't have dusted up like Reading did after 2 practice sessions and 2 full 25 heat meetings including re-runs Some tracks wouldnt have had the nasty blue groove, but every track would have dusted up.
  13. What is the problem here? Harris laid it down, Hans got excluded end of. It happens in a lot of meetings up and down the country every week - cos it was on TV people are getting irate about it. Hans laid it down in cardiff last year - every rider does it - its part of the sport - exactly like when they tempt another rider through the tapes by moving first. Just get over it
  14. I am not condoning any of the bottle throwing or abuse however the above quote for me is a bit far fetched. It wont forever be known as that at all - maybe over the next day or so - but soon you will get memories of some good races, big incidents and the controversy that happened throughout the meeting.
  15. A big thing in the SWC is also the funding each team gets. I think it is quite clear that the Poles, Danes and possibly Swedes have better funding for the tournament. Maybe next year if our funding includes super charged machinery as well - we might get a bit closer
  16. I don't think there is anything wrong with congratulating them on a rostrum positions. Biggest thing of note was Crump throwing away a Silver medal for his team just so he could go for a maximum - maybe it wasnt a team event after all
  17. Whether you like him or not - Hans Andersen is needed in Speedway. Everyone loves a bad boy in the sport, and to be fair to him tonight the referee's decision was a terrible one. One thing that I think he does need to watch is the way he celebrates afterwards. Part of his job is to take a bit of stick, but the way he celebrates can rub people up the wrong way. He is class. Whether he goes on to become World Champion depends on if he stays injury free - but with the list of riders who he has had clashes with - that could end up being his biggest problem. One thing is certain - he owes BSI a lot. He became too comfy and the dropping from the GP series make him sharpen his act up - cos if they hadnt of dropped him this year he would be nowhere near the level he is now
  18. It is amusing to hear people asking for more shale here and more shale there. Reading isnt a track you can just dump a load of shale on and expect it to work. The thunderstorms throughout the day will help the track - the watering is always best when you get natural rain on it, but if they have put more dirt down, combine that with the thunderstorms and all you will get is a track that no-one will be able to race on - ride yes - race no. Agreed it was very very dusty on thursday and after a few races the blue groove was visible, but there will be no inbetween - it will either be dusty and blue groove, or because of the weather it will be tricky and heavy.
  19. But you are only going to see 25 minutes of action spread over 3 hours F4E
  20. Tomorrow wont be much different if the weather is the same. Dougie was always going to have his work cut out having 50+ races (including re-runs) in 3 days - and then Practices before both meetings Just plain crazy. As for these people saying it was hot where they were and the track was good etc etc - people just dont realise how much a practice session takes out of the track. Good luck to Dougie and Eric - they will be praying for a thunderstorm - cos at least they wouldn't get the abuse they have so far.
  21. I must admit to shouting at the tv just as Scott moved inside Hans over the start line. It was something along the lines of "stuff the dirty ******". For me Hans is a top top rider - but the "normal unbiaised" speedway fan loses a lot of respect for a rider when they pull moves like he did last night. Riders like Hancock, Crump, Rickardsson, Gollob will always give you just enough room to be safe on the bike - something Hans might like to learn - and pretty quickly.
