  1. Would seem logical and I tend to agree. Rick's keen on positive press and he gets plenty of that with Rathbone at the helm. Rick and Julie can now protect their asset for another successful year to coincide with the end of the 2 year deal at Poole, at least in it's present form (I'm not aware of any extension or greater involvement). Then they'll have something to sell at Peterborough if they want to or they can return and run it themselves if they have the time and inclination, or they can get more involved at Poole. I suspect Readypower will just stick to sponsorship now, so what they have works well I'd imagine.
  2. Which fan is that? Is it just your mentalist self or are there others?
  3. They don't do long term though and everything is short term even though it isn't dressed up like that. I agree that it's always reactive in response to self created problems. They just hope that it bottoms out at some point, but they started a snowball going downhill and it shows no sign of stopping. Until the lunatics are not running the asylum, isn't it naïve to think that self interest will not continue, whatever they come up with.
  4. The league structure used to nurture progression perfectly well. That's the post of an apologist for the annual rule and structure tinkering in speedway's continued race to the bottom. You might also add that if we lose more fans then it's a price worth paying for a wholesome local product.
  5. Yes, I must say, Mr Taps, we appreciate your involvement on the creative side, but, sadly, the Panthers team builder job description does not include the requirement "Must have intellectual capacity of a boiled potato." Now, return to your tractor and drive off to where the sun don’t shine if you please
  6. Apart from the taking it or leaving it since 2013.
  7. He's often there. Those latrines don't clean themselves y'know!
  8. If I was you I'd be more concerned if there were bad vibes but there aren't any that I know of, and the club is in a better place than when the supremo left at this time last year. Assuming that Rick and Julie still own the club then the final decision is theirs, although any decisions will have been made by now.
  9. If he's got a stormer in him then it'll have to be Friday. But looking at yesterday we're stuffed.
  10. I don't think that it has been any better or any worse tbh. The only thing that has excited me this year is Anders Thomsen: now he does look a talent so will be too big for us now and will be offski & uspski. If the feel-good factor has returned it's nothing IMO to do with the PL. It's returned because Rathbone is good at what he does, is good at communicating with fans at the right level and the riders are encouraged and happy to interact with those fans, plus we have a team at the right end of the table who made the play-offs. That's nothing that couldn't have been done before but we had what appeared to be a distant promotion who were uncomfortable communicating at the fans level, and there was a distinct lack of interaction between riders and fans, especially from the team's much maligned permanent figurehead, plus it was only at the end that of our EL tenure that we had a potent winning team. For 2016 Rob Lyon sort of gave the game away when he said they sort of know what the structure is next year (or something like that, just needing to be rubber stamped at the AGM?) so you suspect that it's more of the same for Panthers if the club owner (we assume that he still is) is happy for the present arrangement to continue? It's not for me as I can take it or leave it since 2013, but if it works for the club then so be it. Better that than lose the magnificent EoES track and facilities to speedway.
  11. I prefer the Matt Ford strategy of riders who score points, speaking generally of course and not what might happen in 2016.
  12. So when do we see two confirmed teams listed, or have I missed it?
  13. I thought that the asset system died a couple of years ago: "Swindon co-promoter Gary Patchett is refusing to buy Hans Andersen or Troy Batchelor and admitted “the asset system stands on the verge of collapse.” - I assume that it's recovered and that it was only in trouble at the time because it involved Panthers.
  14. Did ok least time that there was a tractor convoy down the A14: Rohan Tungate 2, 3, 3, 2, 0, 1 = 11 Read more: speedwayupdates/peterborough-ipswich-pl 12/6/15 It got a bit hot in the last two but he isn't meeting Kurtz, King and the Ostrich tomorrow, and Cooke apart, he can beat the rest at a track he can race on, so thankfully he's not riding at Foxhole.
  15. As he's owned by the sponsor I'm sure that can be arranged.
  16. Considering that many people have thought that it's ridiculous and said so throughout the season then it's not unreasonable that hansfan read it wrong, if indeed he did. Given the context and your posts on the page I'd have come to the same conclusion (but then again I am paranoid). My English teacher always used to bang on about the abc of effective communication, I think that you need to focus on the c to avoid possible paranoia in future.
  17. Correct although this doesn't help matters: "The scaphoid bone is one of the carpal bones in your hand around the area of your wrist"
  18. If he has broken it then it's one of the bones of the wrist: Scaphoid Wrist Fracture He'd be unwise and unlikely to ride with that but a red herring it indeed could be: cutting the cast off indeed
  19. It's no worse than those denying that there was a problem when there cleary was. And yes a solution was found when push came to shove, but with a bit of seemingly missing cooperation and negotiation, all of the handbags could have been avoided and there would have been nothing to whinge about.
