  1. Right, that's the easy bit, now who specifically told him that his services were not required? One assumes that they saw and heard that as well?
  2. If continues to progress and the support around him becomes more professional then he could turn into a real top level class act, and probably will. He seems to have the skills and speed required, just needs to make sure that he has the complete support package, knuckle down and not get lost in the hype that will continue to grow. As to the second part, I'm still waiting for your definition of this: I'm sure that Lambert would be well pleased if he knew that you were on his case. That has all the credibility of being called Panthers supremo
  3. Changed your tune a bit and fair play on the rest, that's not a bad cv and a good stick that in your pipe and smoke it reply. I am a success but you can't measure my sucess in simple monetary terms, so it may possibly be a bit beyond you and we'll have to continue to gripe in blissful ignorance as that's as far as that conversation goes.
  4. And one's mind strangely moves straight to Blackadder describing Baldrick's poetry: "It started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end the better (although we all want him fit & well asap), but apart from that it was excellent." - you never disappoint but should calm down a bit, you'll make yourself ill!
  5. I don't think that he made a twit of himself. He just got a bit carried away and had no room for error if the unexpected happened, which unfortunately it did when he picked up some drive that he didn't need. He'll learn. I've not been Lambert's greatest fan but on this occasion I'm prepared to stick up for him for trying to entertain, even if engaging the brain would have been preferable in the circumstances, both personally and for the team. That race was spectacular if watching Lambert, but it was just a question of would he complete 4 laps before he collected the fence? We got the answer. I'm sure that mummykins did that all on her own and if Lambert continues to go up the career ladder then he'll hopefully outgrow and shake off such support & PR fairly quickly anyway, or at least he needs to learn that quickly as well.
  6. So he got out under dubious circumstances and hasn't returned to a sport run by some clowns (we appreciate that there are many good promoters out there) continually wasting his money and making rules up as they go along. As a self proclaimed success story yourself, I'd have thought that you'd appreciate that approach and Rick's continued financial support to our sport. Which teams are you sponsoring this year? I'd say that the organisational culture running the sport is what is not for Frost/Mahoney and they'd probably still be directly running our club if they had the level playing field that never arrived, although going to Dorset was an own goal in the credibilty stakes!
  7. Still can't beat this from the archive: Tsunami (BSF) said, on 25 Jan 2014 - 2:32 PM: Ha Ha. And i'm the one supposed to be 'putting the boot into' Frost. I have a lot of respect for Rick but speedway was just not for him. I'll have been trying 2 years in January
  8. Good job Moody didn't post that on Facebook!
  9. Apologies, I shall do a 100 Sedgmen & Cook lines today. I must also give a special mention to Panthers supporter of the day who'd seen his team choke at The Emirates v the 'Ammers (more 'Ammers fans in Peterborough than London) but still managed to bound up the stairs in time to watch the Panthers. That's dedication for you from stiltonpanther, although not sure about keeping the Arsenal shirt on
  10. Yup, it's in there somewhere, I'm just misunderstood. We all want the same thing (well nearly) at the end of the day but say it in different ways. After reading the forum though I think it was all covered. I was perhaps a bit harsh on the track and Dick was right in that the times do suggest that it was initially well prepared, but at the end of two baking days, and at the wrong time of day when any moisture already there or deposited would be lost all too quickly, then there was no real home track advantage. Having said that, as was also pointed out, the experience of Wolbert, Sedgeman & Cooke was just too much for Panthers depleted squad, and without Ostrich & Lambert to worry those three it was never going to be great speedway as they buggered off into the distance.
  11. So you're saying that if Panthers had held that heat 10 5-1 to go 33-27 up and then had Lambert in 13 & 15, which Panthers lost 3-9, then that made no difference? I'm not knocking Lambert because I was thoroughly enjoying his wall of death ride in heat 10 but there was no room for error as we all saw, he'll learn; but 6 points up with 5 heats to go and Lambert in 2 of them should have been enough for the win. Apart from not playing to our strengths by producing the usual rubbish slick Sunday track, heat 10 and Lambert's subsequent withdrawal was the defining moment and did lose us the meeting. However, him getting up and walking away was the most important thing. We can win another day.
  12. As your best mate Mr Bratley once said: I will never forget that the 2006 Grand Final, arguably the greatest modern day meeting ever, watched live by over 6000 people and by thousands more at home, was followed by a Craven Shield fixture attended by less than 700 people. If that Grand Final won’t pull people in, then what will?!?! Read more:
  13. Would be interesting to know who's doing the picking as we've been rubbish at picking a winning side since 2006?
  14. Well it's egg on someone: Panthers promoter Ged Rathbone has hailed the return of teenage prodigy Robert Lambert as a ‘massive boost’ ahead of two titanic Premier League tussles. Panthers travel to Scotland tomorrow (Friday) before welcoming the reigning champions to the East of England Showground on Sunday (5pm). Rathbone said: “It was obviously very disappointing for everyone not to have Robert available for the Fours. “Unfortunately he picked up an injury the previous night, but the treatment he received from our sports therapist Lauren Wood on Sunday, along with the further guidance given to him, appears to have done the trick. We are one of the only clubs in the country to be lucky enough to have a sports therapist to work with our riders and Lauren is a real asset to us. “Robert tells us the treatment has really helped and it will be great to have him back in action against Edinburgh. P'boro today There is bound to be disappointment that we are not seeing the full Peterborough team on Friday, and particularly that Robert Lambert won’t be there (surely the news has reached Edinburgh & someone can update that?) 15. It is now. I've just watched Alan Partridge upsetting the farmers regarding mad cow disease. It reminded me of you eating that baguette!
  16. That's true, he's more concerned about the lads getting a result at Rochdale
  17. Pirate FM News (nothing to do with Readypower's minor second team) used that last Friday. You need some new material instead of using others; no change there then
  18. You're just so Gareth Keenan aren't you. Rockets very own Team Leader after graduating from being team milk monitor
  19. The bikes do seem to have become more volatile since the new silencers were introduced. They may kill the noise but they also seem to kill the engine before it suddenly springs into life? When it's consistent power that's actually wanted.
