  1. Easy mistake for the terminally thick Yup. Diet coke and low carb popcorn which has never seen corn!
  2. This could be good, better get some popcorn and a coke
  3. When you read stuff like this from Nick Morris then is it any wonder? "“I’ve just got some new engines from Peter Johns and I have them at Swindon. I’ve been using some older engines at Glasgow but I’m bringing one of the new ones and I’m going to start using that, because I don’t feel as if I’ve had enough speed there recently.” - (See more at: web glasgowtigers) - how much does that cost him, and how much for those trying to match it?
  4. He didn't say that speedway isn't a sport. It is part of the entertainment industry though. People pay their hard earned to be entertained. Considering the overall product I think it's clear that promoters don't think like that (or at least see the big picture). Frost & Mahoney did but continually got the team on track element wrong, not helped by those in charge who like losing money making business decisions on their behalf.
  5. But life and many sports work like that. Hard working people spend their money without ultimate control. Why should speedway be any different? The only stupid thing is to continue with a system which has delivered British Speedway's current product and loses the promoters money. However, with the mentality of independence will only make it worse so we'll not make the effort and cope with our losses and customer discontent, then good luck to them, they'll need it. As a self proclaimed success story yourself who's seen it from both sides of the fence, you're surely just the type of bloke they need at the helm. Sustainable speedway (until they break that) of one big Prem/NL combo can't be too many years off.
  6. So you agree that the promoters are the problem, coupled with a turkeys not voting for Christmas mentality. The lunatics are clearly not going to vote themselves out of running the asylum so we're stuck with our current impressive administration that serves our sport so well. Is what you're saying?
  7. I'm not too sure about that. I think that you need to ease yourself in and learn how to play the game. I'm not sure that we did?
  8. I think that we need the stuff not written down Neil from this Rob bloke whoever he is? What you can actually find out yourself is usually open to interpretation it would seem depending on sub clause within a rule which has yet to be agreed.
  9. So it's a few mouthy fans on the internet that have got your goat and not Peterborough Speedway itself? Well I can't help with that one. I look forward to this new transparent BSPA who stick to all of their rules and clarify why they have made those and associated decisions. As with Batchelor/Andersen gate, the only thing that Ged needs to learn is that verbal communications from the BSPA mean jack and just gives them an easy way out if it gets a bit hot in the kitchen.
  10. I don't see toys out of the pram. The BSPA has done nothing wrong you say but you highlight their inconsistencies and ignorance of their own rules (according to what's in the public domain). The only mistake Peterborough have made once again is making plans allegedly on verbal advice from the usual Secret Squirrel at the BSPA whilst forgetting that they might actually stick to a rule if the BSF points out where they are going wrong! How would you react to that if you were the boss? Doubt that you'd just sit there and say that's how the cookie crumbles. Just in case you didn't read this bit: Rathbone said: “Ourselves and Jacob are devastated the move has been blocked as we were all led to believe he would be eligible to ride in the Premier League. “What I have to stress is there is no wrongdoing here on the part of the Peterborough management. “A member of the BSPA management committee, who I won’t name, suggested we tried to sign Jacob after we had initially enquired about the availability of another rider. “We proceeded to complete a deal with Jacob only for the BSPA management committee to then block it. “It was obviously an oversight on that individual’s part, but it is one which is extremely disappointing to say the least. www.peterboroughpanthers
  11. Shame they weren't so helpful when Frost was at the helm.
  12. Not unless they know who moorwell is, and they'd still like to see the minutes irrespective! As Sir Humphrey Appley (no not the BSF one) said: It is characteristic of all committee discussions and decisions that every member has a vivid recollection of them and that every member's recollection of them differs violently from every other member's recollection. Consequently we accept the convention that the official decisions are those and only those which have officially recorded in the minutes by the officials, from which it emerges with an elegant inevitability that any decision which has been officially reached will have been officially recorded in the minutes by the officials and any decision which is not recorded in the minutes has not been officially reached even if one or more members believe they can recollect it, so in this particular case if the decision had been officially reached it would have been officially recorded in the minutes by the officials. And it isn't so it wasn't. Ironic that that reads like it was written by whoever wrote the rule book.
  13. A couple of don't knows on the BSF is hardly representative of the fan base. Any rider signed gets a chance. It's what happens from then that matters.
  14. At least the website has gone sensible. A local journo off the leash in a minor local comic is a dangerous thing. Ged doesn't deserve that! I'm sure that MP is glad that his rockets supremo friend keeps publicising his work or else we'd miss it
  15. Speedway rules: written with the intention of being flexible enough for any given situation or request
  16. Our fixture list has been our fixture aspirations for years. Due to the joys of Sunday speedway you now get the full Peterborough speedway experience. Allegedly the landlords will not let us have the date which they must have previously offered in full knowledge of the dog event? Rumour is that the Panthers mascot is in the doggy high jump competition to confirm that nobody jumps higher at the EoES than we do. Have they? There's jack on the website. True.
  17. Even that doesn't top 29/11/11 when the new look team was announced which was so far removed from virtually every team posted on Panthers forum that everyone is still wondering how did that happen? I light a candle in the back garden every Nov 29. Swindon started their Christmas celebrations in November that year I believe? The celebrations carried on until they won the 2012 EL title with our top 2? Now that was a crime
  18. That's true. Losing to a team that has 3 riders who rode for Panthers in the EL, with the addition of Newman, Holder and T.Kurtz isn't much of a crime . Losing at home to 6 fingers in 2013, now that was a crime
  19. I've just read that, very amusing. Reminded me of this "Let's carry on this way as a united team and ignore the writings and words of the negative, ignorant and frequently anonymous people who are seemingly trying to divide us." (2009 vintage) - the trend was generally downhill from that point despite the good. You need to work with the negatives, not surround yourself entirely with those blowing smoke.
  20. "Faith" was the best when the God botherers hijacked our PA due to a technical hitch. It seemed very amusing at the time but in hindsight was better that much of what comes out these days. I only skimmed through the heats on Sky so didn't hear the kids on that but I'm not that bad a person that I have to punish myself twice. If that's being miserable, as I've seen posted elsewhere, then so be it, I can live with that. I'd have gone £10 and free parking for the night in preference to the kids offer. Anyway it's done now. I don't like Sundays so am looking at Newcastle in the middle of August as next up. You can cover my Sundays' lost admission
  21. It's all guff on the whole, everyone knows that, but it's still good to source your guff rather than post a line of nothing
  22. Certainly is: "The Dane, who was Comets’ fifth confirmed signing in November, lost one of his main sponsors and as a result is unable to ride in the UK this season." Doesn't mention that here
  23. Funnily enough I have got one of those (no really)
  24. I purchased one of those cassette radio walkman things from e-bay. It's a bit bulky, nobody uses cassettes these days, the am radio is a bit in and out and crackly but it was cheap and the sound was better than those two roving mics last night. I'm getting there on the technology front
  25. Unlike our friend, you're not unfortunately in full possession of the facts whereas he's always full of it
