  1. Nicely put. Whether the PL is exciting we've yet to see but I look at those Panthers named compared to an EL side and there's no spark for me. If that's an EL snob then so be it. The slight difference in our two situations IMO is that we as a club didn't need to change. We'd just been probably the best EL side in the second half of the season. Frost had said that crowds were up and finances were not an issue to him as he has and makes a shedful, so how did it all change so quickly? Were we really under threat of closure? If it had been a new broom with ambition then Wealdstone might have been more accommodating but it isn't.
  2. It'll be interesting to see how many first choice 7 v 7s we get next year?
  3. No they haven't but the quick and easy way to not address your concerns is to remind you how lucky you are, which is true to a point but doesn't make you feel any better. On a different tack, the asset system was the anti-christ & worthless last year but now it's a vital part of rules & regulations (well seemingly not ours in the PL funnily enough), funny old world innit?
  4. Rather heartless to advocate ignoring special needs. We look after our own.
  5. "I asked my girlfriend: He said: * We made out shortly after." All rather worrying really, you should PM FP he'll offer counselling
  6. The one selling point of the PL was it's stabilty but that's looking at bit suspect at the moment. When the rulebook is finished (not March 1 yet) and published it'll be interesting to see what the AGM statement didn't say? As for Fisher, seems logical being an existing Panther and one of Horton's merry men. If a like for like guest is the option when not available then that's not too bad on the face of it although not ideal, but it doesn't look like we'll be alone with such problems. Could be a different matter at the business end of the season though.
  7. World Cup or PL speedway, it's a toughie! I don't need any lectures about supporting Panthers thank you
  8. I don't know what's worse, the thought of watching Hodgson's England or spending time with you, which isn't going to happen at any point, just for the record
  9. The clown's bad enough without Panthers very own Quentin Crisp chipping in. Are you still pushing for pink kevlars?
  10. " This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by stevebrum. View it anyway?" And that's the way that or any susequent ones will stay - bog off back to the sensible continuum & leave us in peace!
  11. I think that we've explored the ignore functionality but as you're clearly as mad as a mongoose we'll move on. In such instances one wishes to see whether you've said anything interesting, there's got to be a 1st time, although 20,000 BSF posts of drivel is 1/14 at Ladbrokes Wolverhampton I believe. I knew that if I mentioned circus then the chief clown would appear to defend his position!
  12. Oops, missed out Andersen. That wasn't a deliberate mistake. I may not have liked the circus around him but he was quality on track without doubt. I worry about the press after away meetings. People are not going to turn out on a Tuesday after the negative coverage, if that's how it pans out. Fortunately the local rag is only weekly now and not daily. People will have a few days to have forgotten it.
  13. Having watched more lower league speedway at Peterborough in my time than top league it has nothing to do with snobs, it's just what makes the effort worthwhile. A return to the PL without an apparent will to return to the Elite isn't my idea of fun. Having said that, the EL 2014 is a dogs' dinner so I'm sure that I'll cope for this year. As to enjoyment, Crump, Sullivan, Tesar, Loram, Lee Richardson RIP, P Karlsson etc against Fisher, Ostrich, baby Bjerre - spot the difference. The former is my idea of enjoyment. Even our 6 fingered 50 pieces of silver A47 cousins wouldn't choose PL over their short unproductive EL career. And just to rub salt in it, Sullivan's exciting 2013 side of Big Bjerre, Buzz, Kylmakorpi, Hougaard, Kosciuch, Fisher (as back up not the most exciting thing on offer) had just delivered a second half of the season which was as good as anything since 2006 IMHO. So the bottom line is that supporters are happy to have speedway although once again why it was under threat seems unclear. Many will embrace PL, hopefully in sufficient numbers. Personally I'd rather be in the EL section arguing with SteveO and ignoring stevebrum, no offence
  14. I'm here under sufference so I'd rather not. Prem's bad enough without Gerry dusting off Smokie again!
  15. That's true, our local journo has K Bjerre down as 2014 world champion.
  16. I'm sure that Panthers fans are thinking of 2007, not 2006. That's lovely, I'm welling up
  17. "top two of Fisher and Ostergaard" - Jeez! So I didn't dream it, we really are in the Prem
  18. You'll be hoping champs is wrong then, it's usually 50/50.
  19. We had to go Premier League to offload Bjerre, pity the poor sods who took him on, oh hang on
  20. As I tell Luke Signwriter (private joke ) life is full of hangers on, it's not speedway specific!
  21. Ahh I see, if you'd been watching the big boys section you'd have realised what sort of response you'd get. It could be an interesting season? We have been with the common folk longer during our existence than with the big boys so we're quite at home, if not happy about how and why we got here. Will we be watching Darcy Ward, Tai Woffinden (you know, that World Champion bloke), Niels-Kristian Iversen, Hans Andersen etc? Inferior is in the eye of the beholder but I think that you have a point for 2014 at least.
