  1. I saw that mentioned yesterday and wondered what it is.
  2. That's where it gets messy. Whoever rides has to be the decision of the management team at the club. Chapman can't have an input at 3 clubs. Chapman added: “Everything stays the same at Ipswich and Peterborough with their management continuing to run the clubs.
  3. Well said sir. Perhaps he'll twig next that if someone quotes something, despite ignore, one still has to suffer the drivel. Clearly opening a post out of curiosity and posting a reply was a mistake not to be repeated, apologies to those looking in for Panthers chat.
  4. You're always tempted to open a post out of curiosity but it usually only confirms why one doesn't bother to read the diatribe on a regular basis. Excellent contribution of drivel as per usual sir, I feel that you're overdue for your visit to nurse Ratched for your medication
  5. Reminds me of this when one person asked for something agreed to be recorded in the minutes but it was left off so that there was apparently no record of the fact that the point had been agreed at the meeting: Sir Humphrey Appleby: It is characteristic of all committee discussions and decisions that every member has a vivid recollection of them and that every member's recollection of them differs violently from every other member's recollection. Consequently we accept the convention that the official decisions are those and only those which have officially recorded in the minutes by the officials, from which it emerges with an elegant inevitability that any decision which has been officially reached will have been officially recorded in the minutes by the officials and any decision which is not recorded in the minutes has not been officially reached even if one or more members believe they can recollect it, so in this particular case if the decision had been officially reached it would have been officially recorded in the minutes by the officials. And it isn't so it wasn't Having said that, I doubt they minute anything, or it'll be in very feint pencil.
  6. Given that our last two owners were new and perhaps thought that they could shake up the sport, until that was that the cartel ground them down and allegedly nobbled them, then I wouldn't get your hopes up on the Panthers front! If it's succession from within then it'll be same as in most respects.
  7. Social media speculation suggests King’s Lynn owner Buster Chapman is the man set to purchase Panthers. Chapman is also the chairman of the BSPA management committee. Rathbone added: “There are a lot of opinions and rumours on the internet forums, but I am the only man in possession of the facts surrounding the sale of the club and at this stage absolutely nothing is confirmed.” peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/panthers/the-sale-of-peterborough-panthers-is-imminent 12/11/18
  8. The EoES has been under threat for 15 years or more since Mercer and his crew turned up and started selling off the land. I'm surprised that we've lasted so long as it's been a world of grief since he arrived (even though he's no longer in post). How under threat we are these days is open to question. I suppose that the landlords could say at any time that they just can't accommodate us in the shrinking Showground. Then there is the current situation around our Peterborough City Council Local Plan (LP30: East of England Showground 2016-2036). What's the current thinking on that. If we're affected then what's the timescale? Whatever the situation is, the higher profile the club has then the better chance it has of surviving long term.
  9. Sunday was a double edged sword. Yes it made good business for the reasons that you state but damaged the strength of the club's local fanbase if the club wished to progress back from where it came as is now rumoured. Sunday was never going to be an option in those circumstances.
  10. There's a world of difference between wanting the club to close (which nobody wants btw) and not liking who is at the helm. As long as it's at the right level then I'm sure that we'd all take Mick Horton again if it kept the club going for the prospect of better things.
  11. Didn't somebody buy the Swingers golf range land (grassy bit on the right as you drive inside the EoES for those trying to picture it) with the intention of building houses? That never happened, as yet anyway. Thought the problem was that the market bombed at the wrong time to put a hold on the plans. However, given that nothing has happened and doesn't look likely to, then perhaps you're right.
  12. How are we defining many? The view of a very very small queue at a burger van is hardly representative.
  13. Sounds a bit like Brexit and a right dogs'. The cry for a people's vote will start on Monday after the "best AGM ever to take the sport forward until Christmas" statement. The sport has needed stability for years without the annual carnage of the AGM but we're allegedly going radical once again
  14. Would have thought that if there is a new owner/owners then they will be making the decisions. Given that the AGM only basically rubberstamps decisions already taken then Rathbone & Watson's role is surely as a club presence after being briefed rather than in a serious decision making capacity. I suppose the alleged deal could go 2010 style pear shaped over the AGM weekend which could leave them back making the decisions.
  15. Think that you're confusing authority with stupidity
  16. That I don't know but it depends whether he knew the full story or not to make a judgement. Probably adding 2+2 and making 7 here anyway!
  17. You sure about that Rodders? As THJ would say: " I am minuspeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericabobulations."
  18. Not a bad shout when you think about it. Don't think that he's short of a few bob though and didn't Rathbone say something about the offers being less than he hoped or valued the club at? That would just lead you away from anyone not known or with money. A speedway arm of Balfe Motorsport would be an interesting project though.
  19. I wonder if Rick Frost fancied another go now that he has the time on his hands that he didn't when boss of Readypower. I'm sure that he'd happily miss the shark infested custard of the AGM.
  20. Struggling with any logic here! Sounds like a Colin Horton job
  21. Good to see diplomacy and the caring society alive and well in Suffolk.
  22. Wash your mouth out! Frost told Rathbone to watch his back, not do business with them.
  23. If reality then it'll be one of those worst kept secrets that those who think that they are in the know skirt around before it's made public. However, we as Panthers fans are more aware than most that there is many a slip between the BSPA AGM emblazoned cup and lip.
