So you''re saying the press release isn't accurate: “After the operation we will re-assess Bradley next week to see whether it’s a season-ending injury, so we’ll give him a few days’ recovery time first, see how he feels and then go from there. “If he feels up for riding then he’ll continue, but we won’t know that until after the operation. “It’s not a major surgery and there should be no after-effects other than general soreness, so there is a slim possibility that he could carry on racing, and obviously he’s a vital part of the team."

Why would you assume that? I'd assume that for a non urgent procedure on an healed injury that's not causing difficulties that we know of, the surgeon's advice would be that we can remove the plate and screws when you're ready? Although reading the article it reads as if September surgery was planned in June or before so that doesn't suggest surgeons advice to that extent at all. Irrespective of all that, no surgery is fun, however minor, and it should be avoided at all costs, so hopefully it goes well and he's fit and raring to go in 2019, wherever that may be.

Cost or responsibility isn't mentioned so who knows. It just says timescale and I'm not sure what that means in this situation, I wouldn't imagine that the rules around non urgent surgery would be too strict and the NHS seems to cancel such things at very short notice themselves. If you had a similar problem known about in June but you were going abroad for a month in September then wouldn't you say that you can't attend at that time. I'm sure that it would be noted and agreed that you'd be fitted in before or after. Likewise if you're a UK sportsman from March to October then wouldn't you mention that and fit it in during the close season as I recall happening on other occasions in the past. If it's causing pain then asap is very important but there's no mention of that and BWD rode very well on Sunday on a track that would certainly pull hard on a damaged shoulder, although removal of plate and screws suggests that it has healed but will need rest afterwards for the rest of our season would be my guess. Anyway, it is what it is and that's not going to change.

I've always said that the race to the bottom continues and British Speedway has yet to bottom out but that might do it! Rathbone sort of went there but on the Polish issue but your proposal really is the Hahnenkamm.
-
Considering that anyone half decent seems wedded or linked to Poland then it'd certainly not even be a British style top standard to allow Sunday running.
-
It's annoying to opposition fans as well. Pointless heats. Can't call them races with riders to the standard of those named (no disrespect but they are out of their depth, well Bowtell especially despite somehow winning heat 8) as replacements.
-
Have you ever thought of entering politics? With that kind of logic you're certainly well qualified for the job
-
Made me chuckle when Rathbone said that you can't beat speedway under lights. Certainly no chance of that on a Sunday afternoon.

Said it enough times so I don't think anyone listens. Any PA announcements can't be heard in the stand when bikes are on track which is why no riders should leave the pits until the line-up has been announced. Haven't noticed the DJ tbh but doesn't bother me and seems ok. Can't say the same for the pre meetng interviews.
-
Problem is presentation has gone backwards and become secondary compared to what it was (and that's not pining for the good old days. It's just that it wasn't broken and hasn't improved) and atmosphere is virtually non-existent. Yes it may be reasonable for big matches but for the bread and butter meetings it'd not take anyone's breath away. When you think that copious amounts of interviews are the answer then you're struggling!

our local rag says "Panthers go to Birmingham on Wednesday (September 12) for an inter-league challenge. Both clubs will track six-man sides with the sport’s bosses understood to be considering that format for all meetings next season.

Ignore it Rodders, he's got previous and a big chip weighing him down on one side.
-
It was over yesterday. That's a six week injury minimum unless he wants to do further damage to extend any recovery period.

Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th

Most teams I've seen this year already do, so does 6 mean 5 in reality.
