  1. Theoretically it's an option but practically with nimbyism a bigger issue these days more than ever, development potentially an ever growing threat and the EoES landlords who would use the main ring for other things and wouldn't bother about the return of speedway, I doubt that the licence would ever need to be thawed out unless a new venue is found.
  2. Been problems for nearly 20 years but I've just been looking at PCC LP36 and the timing of the effects of that will decide when speedway isn't wanted any more. But as 4/5 years ago, there is no flexibility for a year out. If it finishes it finishes for good.
  3. If they were equal partners then that'd be ok. Wouldn't need to buy any fireworks that's for sure, there'd be plenty of natural ones
  4. Don't disagree and you answered your own question.
  5. Not known for my sense of humour on here but you never know. Anyway, time will tell, it may be as reported so no problem with that. I dislike 8 miles round the ringroad so 6 hours travelling would break me.
  6. Never saw that coming. It's called speedway's equivalent of insider dealing would be my guess.
  7. Normally we do but I'm not sure how many lives we've got left. This was the sustainable level that was allegedly, for many, our saviour but we are indeed here again after 2 shocking crowds for important meetings. I'm sure that the story will grow though.
  8. You've more interest in it and know more than me so fair enough. More worrying (and somewhat coincidental for any conspiracy theorists) is that Rathbone has just thrown in the towel at the EoES.
  9. Without any detail then why is that worrying? The directors might have the right agenda.
  10. If Frost/Mahoney (who gave us 5 top quality years of expensive entertainment despite the lack of success) hadn't saved us from Colin who saved us from Mick in the first place if my memory serves me right, then we'd probably have been closed down anyway. Seems that you don't remember that?
  11. Please be upstanding. Isn't there a phrase "it couldn't get any worse"
  12. At the moment though it's Panthers select with question marks. Nobody's fault, although somewhat compounded by the BWD gamble that has gone a bit pear shaped when it mattered. If you'd been watching Panthers over the last few meetings you'd see that their concerns are well founded.
  13. Guests are hit and miss at any time, we know that. Always have been and always will be, especially at this level. Just trying to earn some money as opposed to riding for your team with your team mates must be a different kettle of fish.
  14. And all things that we couldn't do anything about. Everyone knows that Lambert scores points at 6 or 7 so where's the surprise there. The first part is tosh, so quite appropriate, but based on that the last sentence makes little sense.
  15. Johnson confirmed Panthers have been forced into a change of number one guest for the home clash. He revealed their initial selection Thomas Jorgensen has dropped out with Scunthorpe man Steve Worrall being drafted in. Johnson added: “It’s disappointing not to have Thomas as he has ridden well in his guest bookings for us. “But he feels that by taking the meeting tomorrow he would not have sufficient time to prepare his machinery for King’s Lynn play-off final in the SGB Premiership on Monday night.
  16. Nobody bit on the Redcar thread so I'll leave you to make 5 out of 2+2 unless you have something more concrete that you wish to share. One thing that I did notice is why the Europress banner on the back straight fence has been covered up with a T Balfe banner?
  17. No idea, but why would it be? Went in one ear and out of the other, like most of the invisible interviews. It'd be nice these things could be seen rather than just popping up out of nowhere.
  18. Considering that neither website has a preview for the meeting (Lakeside especially as the home side with just over 24 hours to go) I'd say that your wish will be granted unless there's some miraculous turnaround in the predicted weather: currently still wall to wall rain
  19. Not just on the night for the regulars. Over the last 5 years (don't remember many during the Frost era or before that) there have been many lengthy delays and communication is usually not sufficient.
  20. I did see that mentioned in one report and agree that that was very noble if the reason but that does seem to have dropped off the news item and the ET article where it only says "But we’ve got a duty to the supporters who have paid to come in to give them fifteen heats".
  21. Wasn't there and I'm no fan of that level of second half: usually my cue to leave (not required info but just to clarify my position) but that is a very good point. As Tsunami said, Rathbone is a speedway may and it shows with his actions.
