  1. Can a cake dance? Can a cake get you drunk? Will a cake let you put your hand up it's jumper?
  2. Don't know where you've been for the last decade but Mick Horton was saying that 15 years ago and it's been a fact of life at the EoES ever since! Bugger, but that bait did look tasty
  3. Now you knew that anyway and we don't care, so where's the surprise?
  4. Poland etc has not suddenly crept up though. The problems of Sunday speedway and anyone half decent being tied up elsewhere at some point was well known when it was decided to race then. With Friday not being a regular option then Weds or Thurs are the best bet. Tuesday was a disaster and can't see Monday being a hit. Surely cleaning up the showground after the weekend will impact on a Monday. Running Mon or Weds will require deep pockets and enthusiasm. Thursday will require slightly less deep pockets. I hope the deal is done because we're not selling it very well
  5. In the UK it is. Compared to abroad or the UK 12 years ago then no. As with the EL as a title, we're playing word games again.
  6. How many times over the last 15 years have the distress signals been out about crowds and finance? Virtually every season. And although I could unfortunately take or leave Peterborough Speedway from 2013, from 2015 Rathbone did seem to find a level and way of running that calmed the ship and allegedly balanced the books. The only slightly similar significant distress signals from Rathbone's tenure IMO came with Lakeside (who never did anything over the years but cause distress signals when visiting anyway) and, as has been pointed out, with an injury free Panthers team out the crowd would have turned up. I said when we went Sunday at the lower level that in the short term that's fine but it changes the dynamic of the club and mindset of the fans and is a negative for going back the other way, if that's what does happen? I hope that your many is a few hundred regulars and not a full people carrier sized occasional many!
  7. Good luck with that then. Hope that they've got deep pockets.
  8. Well that team selection has blown THJ's theory of your understanding of all thing Peterborough out of the window
  9. I for one would like to see us on BT Sport, assuming that they are covering whatever it is and whatever it's called in 2019 although Mon/Weds isn't that appealing so may have to rethink that.
  10. If you've not used the ignore function then it's worth the effort. All you see is a single line saying " You've chosen to ignore content by TotallyHonestJohn" - wonderful invention
  11. Well thanks for that and apologies to waco for more rubbish but I'll add you to the mad as a cod section (that's the ignore section as I see that you've probably replied) as well so that'll further reduce the post count
  12. The club is up for sale. Rathbone says that there are interested parties but if they fall through then the club will run in 2019 anyway. Until that sorts itself out and there is some clarification then there really isn't anything to discuss.
  13. As you'll appreciate from the first line I didn't realise that I was dealing with Exidor and that THJ was a pseudonym, although it does now make my evaluation correct. Here's one of his classic quotes which shows why knowing when to take your ball home is an acquired skill: Exidor: I realized that my faith had been misplaced and I began my quest for truth. I tried Buddhism, Catholicism, Judaism, Punch-and-Judy-ism, but nothing worked for me until I found speedway! Oh, and as I just scanned this page for THJ posts: " And a bet ya did read it all... you little tinker... that post... you read it all... at least that's what everyone is thinking anyway." - wrong as usual. Looking at your replies on here or anywhere come to that I don't want to see anymore of your dross and vitriol so I'll stick you in the moron section (ignore list as it's know on the system). Feel free to say shazbot and reply this time Johnboy because you're history
  14. Jeez! Couldn't be bothered to read it but the first line set the usual diplomatic tone, and as you're clearly as mad as a box of frogs I'll bid you good day so don't bother replying although I'm sure that you'll not be able to resist.
  15. Same every day. You need to pay more attention if you're going to play. I wouldn't pin your hopes on getting a call back after your Comedy Store interview
  16. Fortunately I don't drink. From the looks of it you don't know much and assume a lot so we'd not have much in common to discuss anyway. If we're both running as clubs in 2019 then my unlikely hope would be that we'd be in different leagues anyway so the chances of a catch up would be slim.
  17. You don't need to know Bratley. You can think what you like of Rathbone, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's the words (yours and Bratley's) that are the important bit. You admire my commitment in defending all things Peterborough but find it somewhat remarkable that I defend a guy I have never met or spoken to. I got an invite over to WWOS based on that misunderstanding in 2007. The Colin Horton frenzy was in full flow at the time.
  18. Doubt that I've ever been on any Panthers promoter or manager Christmas card list so wouldn't worry yourself about any mutual appreciation society! Don't know Rathbone and have no wish to get to know him, although left it a bit late now. As Mr Bratley once told me (probably by red hot PM), it's not what you say but the way that you say it. Anything like your post aimed at Peterborough or associated, if I see it, will get a response, always has and always will.
  19. So going by your posts, similar to yourself then?
  20. If the fish had not opened its mouth, it would not have been caught.
  21. Better start your Panthers 2019 thread then because that's it for 2018 and you'll need somewhere to post to keep us entertained
  22. I don't think that a full side beating guests, r/r and two flip flopping reserves on a track that is more like their home circuit (albeit not where they started the season) than the big pacey EoES is that impressive with all due respect.
