  1. Depends what the Showground allow them to do and what our finances allow. That's not necessarily bad management but the way things are these days.
  2. How many times were Panther riders in front on turn 1? I can't remember too many. You suggest then that Johnson visits Specsavers: “Every one of their riders was making starts whereas we struggled from the word go. We can’t put our finger on why we were three bike lengths down going into the first corner – it’s not unheard of, but it’s unusual to see it in so many races."
  3. Bit unfair to call them gutless. They don't choose not to win races. They only delivered what many suspected that they would at some point, not helped by a gaters paradise. It's ok saying that we warned them of track conditions and that they should have adapted but they were up against better quality all round and it's no good asking them to do a job that's beyond them.
  4. You're not really. That's where the new era of British Speedway is these days.
  5. There's method in the madness in that in the absence of any speedway in this abridged season, those still bothered can discuss the guidelines that never fail to fill the void.
  6. We could always nip down the A47 on a Saturday to the 22 percenters in the days before they lost their credibilty
  7. Friday night is speedway night. Remember when it was Rodders! I would say that it was so much better than the fragmented comparatively meaningless product that we watch these days but it's been so long that I can't remember what that is anyway
  8. Was raining in the wind when I went to work at 9:40 so just gone to forecast which it hasn't done much of for the last 6 months. Sunday looks fine Dick, suggest that to all parties
  9. Met Office Peterborough says something quite different so if they go by that or have a potentially more accurate forecast then why wait. Damned if you do and damned if you don't really.
  10. Not if you look at the forecasts as they are today. It's not rocket science although Sod's Law it blows over or never gets here!
  11. Jeez, it's certainly changed significantly. I'd start looking for a new date Dick. The Met Office has been pretty crap over the last few months but they can't be that wrong surely
  12. Looking at the current Met Office forecast (likely to change significantly) this'll not survive anyway
  13. You started by saying "as you understand it" though Neil and add that phrase to a Peterborough promoter over the last decade or so where rules are concerned and it's hardly surprising that supporters get a bit jittery. Taps' Panthers fans paranoia is not without substance when there is official lack of clarity from the big chiefs.
  14. Nobody needs to keep quiet though if the BSPA were doing their job (from the BSPA website): PLAY-OFF PICTURE - HOW IT WORKS - The top team from each group and the best second place race off in two semi-finals over two legs. - Winners of semi-final then race over two legs in the final to decide Championship Shield winners. How is best second place arrived at given unequal groups? As usual, it's just the attention to detail, not really Peterborough's problem. The lack of clarity probably helps us in that respect .
  15. It's no doubt more a case of let's see who of the three second placers is our preferred option before we devise a formula to meet that objective, rather than taking a chance on a pre-agreed formula that could throw up a totally random outcome
  16. True. If the bloke on the pits mic can't give confirmed line ups straight away ("what I can give is the coin toss" - well whoopee doo!) then just give out the proposed line up (subject to ref approval) and then confirm the line up before riders take to the track. It's not rocket science but should help avoid such cock ups.
  17. Not surprised. Having never watched Polish league speedway I thought I'd look at Freesports offering last week. I gave it two heats. Wouldn't bother with it again. I suppose that the top stuff is ok to watch but I'm not that bothered to make any effort to get it outside of the mainstream platforms ie. Sky/BT in my case.
  18. Met Office says 4-6pm but given their track record over the last few months I'd rather wait and see. The Sky forecast last night did have a dark blue blob over this area for about 4pm so fingers crossed for those going
  19. PETERBOROUGH: Scott Nicholls, Emil Grondal, Nike Lunna, Paul Starke, Ulrich Ostergaard, Tom Bacon, Simon Lambert. REDCAR: Ben Barker, Jordan Stewart, Jonas B Andersen, Mikkel B Andersen, Matej Kus, Tobias Busch, Theo Pijper.
  20. In terms of the weather with rain unlikely at any time, we should be alright on that score, but bugger me it's saturated everywhere and still not drying weather. So it depends on track and parking I'd say. If they get time to work on it and get the wet stuff off or dried out and dryish stuff put on then that's one problem solved. Hopefully parking is on the hard standing because the EoES wouldn't want the grass messed up, even with a couple of drier days
  21. Sheffield's website: SHEFFIELD: Kyle Howarth, Todd Kurtz, Charles Wright, Josh Bates R/R, Lasse Bjerre, Jack Smith, James Shanes. PETERBOROUGH: Scott Nicholls, Emil Grondal, Nike Lunna, Michael Palm Toft, Ulrich Ostergaard, Tom Bacon, Simon Lambert. and our Eric Morecambe version: SHEFFIELD: Josh Bates R/R, Lasse Bjerre, Kyle Howarth, Todd Kurtz, James Shanes, Jack Smith, Charles Wright. PETERBOROUGH: Tom Bacon, Emil Grondal, Simon Lambert, Nike Lunna, Scott Nicholls, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm Toft.
  22. LAKESIDE HAMMERS: Nick Morris, Ben Morley, Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman, Richard Lawson, Zach Wajtknecht, Alfie Bowtell. PETERBOROUGH PANTHERS: Scott Nicholls, Emil Grondal, Nike Lunna, Michael Palm Toft, Ulrich Ostergaard, Tom Bacon, Simon Lambert. I'm probably naming all the right riders, but not necessarily in the right order: Teams in the style of Eric Morecambe from: LAKESIDE: Alfie Bowtell, Adam Ellis, Richard Lawson, Ben Morley, Nick Morris, Kyle Newman, Zach Wajtknecht. PETERBOROUGH: Tom Bacon, Emil Grondal, Simon Lambert, Nike Lunna, Scott Nicholls, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm Toft.
  23. Easy to spot though. Just look for the bloke blowing the Shofar badly with nobody within 50 metres!
