No Saturday fixtures in the uk.
Crump99 replied to Racin Jason 72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I used to remember Friday night is speedway night in Peterborough, and here we are a week from the last meeting, what looks to be a fine B/H and the website ticker saying next meeting in 14 days likes that's something to enthuse supporters. I suppose it does for the dwindling bunch that now follow the apparent low quality sustainable level of the sport, but for the long term it'll do more harm than good. I realise that's not a Saturday issue but it's on the same theme, if somewhat local. -
Thankfully Neil seems to have the skill of clarifying mud which one assumes was partly the reason for his appointment

He didn't wish him ill but if you want to take it as insensitive and untimely then that's your perogative. I'm sure that he wasn't alone in his thoughts but it is a time for thoughts rather than the keyboard. The post is ill timed as yours is over the top.

Keith Chapman - Failure or Success?
Crump99 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It was broken when he started and he had to say something. Who really thought anything would change in the short term. It was a bad time to get the job and the problems in the sport have yet to bottom out but they will at some point. So in answer to the question I'd say neither. -
Yes, to all of you tuning in for Panthers chat, try plan b. Nothing to see here
-
You'd hope that after 8 fixtures they know the answer already and will not base their decision on what'll potentially be another Saturday evening gating competition.

Not the best of starters and he isn't quick enough yet to chase on what is still a new home track to him. Rathbone took the punt and said that they like to work with riders so on that basis Lunna isn't going anywhere. Haven't seen anything from Grondal to make me sit up and take note and Lambert isn't doing it from a reserve slot that should be bread and butter to him so those are the two to be sweating.

Glasgow v Workington 13th May 4pm
Crump99 replied to Gazc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You must be on a wind up. There was plenty of deserved praise for Workington. -
Rathbone said: “From Ulrich’s point of view, it’s just a case of us wanting him to concentrate on his racing. He has been a good captain for us over the last three years. He’s still the modern-day ‘Mr Peterborough Speedway’ but he’s at a stage of his career now when his main focus needs to be on making sure he’s a consistent scorer on-track.” Lambert was a silly appointment for captain anyway and the same can be said for him. Give it to Nicholls who's the only one of that lot who should be able to lead by example

After blowing the cobwebs away and suffering Rathbone's ire on Friday I doubt that there will be a repeat here at least. Workington's team looked to be big trouble as it proved. Edinburgh do not carry that threat or have that solid look (famous last words. I await the Stilton prediction!) but who knows.

How many times were Panther riders in front on turn 1? I can't remember too many. You suggest then that Johnson visits Specsavers: “Every one of their riders was making starts whereas we struggled from the word go. We can’t put our finger on why we were three bike lengths down going into the first corner – it’s not unheard of, but it’s unusual to see it in so many races."
-
Bit unfair to call them gutless. They don't choose not to win races. They only delivered what many suspected that they would at some point, not helped by a gaters paradise. It's ok saying that we warned them of track conditions and that they should have adapted but they were up against better quality all round and it's no good asking them to do a job that's beyond them.

You're not really. That's where the new era of British Speedway is these days.

There's method in the madness in that in the absence of any speedway in this abridged season, those still bothered can discuss the guidelines that never fail to fill the void.
