Sorry Bagpuss, what is a Sky platform? I've got a TV and a BT Box, that's all I know or understand. I couldn't even set the BT box up myself, and BT charged mt £133 to come and do what took them barely 5-minutes, which took up almost all of my reduced weeks State Pension.

I have BT Sport at the moment, which expires in January.

Does anybody know, if the thousands of older people in the UK, that don't have access to phone etc, or understand modern technology, can purchase a package in the same way we currently do with BT Sport.so as to be able watch the Grand Prix on their TV sets from 2022 onwards please. It's a serious question, and one that will affect me if you can't, as families want to sit and watch it together in their living room, not individually on mobile devices. Thank you, if anybody can provide the answer.

With Swindon declaring they won't be running in 2022, and Wolverhampton saying they won't operate in such a small league next year, unless a few Championship sides opt to move up, if you can really calling moving up, then the Premiership would appear to be dead in the water. If it is, how would that affect the Eurosport contract, as they don't seem interested in covering Championship meetings.

Always sad to lose any human being. Thanks for the many happy memories you provided for me. R.I.P Dave.

I'm so pleased to see him wearing the King's Lynn colours tomorrow. I'm sorry that issues led to him leaving in the first place.

The whole junior thing is a bit of a mess to be honest. It seems no 'Official' result sheet was submitted for uploading on the SCB site. Birmingham raced at Redcar in the Shield, but once again no result sheet has appeared. Redcar staged a Northern Junior League Match on the 27 August, but the referee has failed to name who the visitors were, which I've now found out to be Berwick. If people in official positions (and it's not promoters or team managers fault) can't be bothered, how on earth do they expect the public to support these events. It's the same with the British Youth Championship at Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday, referee Dave Watters has forwarded the result sheet from the 500c Class, with just three riders, and hasn't bothered with the other three classes, which is disappointing for the lads who rode, as I'm sure they'd like to see their names published both on the website(s) and Speedway Star.

I've had it confirmed that it was definitely a Shield match.

I've checked it out, and am told that as Belle Vue aren't in the MSDL then it must be a PJL meeting, although it was staged on the 26 July and not 28 July as I first reported.
-
You are right, it is the same. I'll get it checked out, as Craig Ackroyd (Referee) reported it as a Premier Junior League meeting.

I have bouts of mental health problems, and its only over the past few months that I've "Come Out" to coin a phrase. Some people told me to buck myself up, which is the worst thing to be told. Some people don't understand the situation, and I get that, because they won't if they've gone through it. Some people are very understanding. I'm currently having a great many demons, but have confidence, and obviously hope, that the people helping me with it, will get me out of the other end of the tunnel. I like Craig Cook. I feel for Craig Cook, and I pray he gets the help he needs from this invisible but deadly problem. Please people, whether you like the man or not, show him the respect and love that both he and his family needs at this present time. With the right guidance and love, he'll come out the other end with a smile on his face. Thank You.- 125 replies

I bet BT Sport would have grabbed that with both hands.

I thought BT were far better than Eurosport, and I agree with what you say in your second paragraph. There's certainly been a lack of live televised meetings this year, but then when you get meetings called off because riders don' want to make an attempt to ride, then they must be wondering why they took the sport on anyway.

If he was still alive, cowboy Roy Rogers would have been my next choice. Top cowboy with a beautiful horse.

Was it shown on Eurosport 2, as I set my recorder, but nothing has recorded? -
I completely agree with you, quite how people can post negative comments regarding the fixture list I find quite surprising, when it's not even known what riders will be participating. Yes, it's very different from the conventional team matches, but at the end of the day, it's still four riders turning left for 4-laps, giving it their all in the name of entertainment, something that is lacking at certain tracks in recent years. If I lived on the island, they would get my 100% support every meeting, and if I was a holidaymaker the weeks they were running a meeting, they'd also get my 100% support. In this day and age when British holidays are almost a thing of the past, 2021 is an exception to that rule, and if you check out the IOW website for things to do of an evening, you'll find nothing, with the exception of a theatre doing a show one night a week, and speedway, the only other thing on offer is if you take your family trolley racing round the aisles of Tesco at Ryde until 10.00pm. The people that sit on the top table running our sport, have seemingly done everything in their power to close this forward thinking club down, and thanks to the determination of Messrs Bishop and Widman, have failed. As many supporters round the country know, once their club closes down, seldom does it ever reopen, finishing up as a housing estate, or another supermarket. So I hope it is a success for them, they've put a lot of time, effort and money, travelling from different parts of the mainland on almost a weekly basis to get the stadium into what looks a lovely venue to visit, and you have only got to check out the cost of the Wightlink Car Ferry, let alone the cost of fuel in reaching Portsmouth, in their determination to ensure that Smallbrook Stadium isn't added to the defunct tracks from 2022 onwards. Bravo to all of you concerned.
-
Yes, guess you are right. I just get frustrated to see tracks standing unused when they should be in the league, so I'll take back what I said, although I do prefer NDL racing myself.
-
Sadly, the one league that produces good racing is disappearing quickly. I fear for speedway full stop at the moment. Something has got to be done at this level to get clubs like Buxton & IOW back up and running, the sport needs them.

Cat Fight. P'boro v Sheffield 28 June
Mimmo replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Quite true about the grandstand, and someone puts blankets over loads of them before the turnstiles are open, so can only assume staff are saving them for family and friends. But I'm talking COVID of course, don't know now, as I never go there. It's a bit like Germans and sunbeds!! -
I was in the car park at 11.45am as a number of people turn up around that time, and have a natter before we go our seperate ways inside the stadium. It was not raining or drizzling all the time I was there, which was about 15-minutes, but I'm told it did start again at 12.30pm. I made the hour long drive back home, and from that minute to 10.00am this morning, I've not seen another drop. Having said all that, the sky didn't look clever in that area, and I don't doubt what they say was true, so onwards and upwards, it's another day today.
