  1. Yes tellboy, I'm looking for a hole in the ground, for what ever reason, he didn't have a good night did he!! Important thing is we won, in what I thought was probably the best meeting at the AFA this season. There's a nice feel about the place again JC, and it's a sheer joy seeing the riders riding as though they want to win, which wasn't the case earlier in the season. I still don't think we'll win to many matches (just my opinion folks), but speedway is there to be enjoyed, and with this septet, we have a team to enjoy watching, win, lose or draw. Possible double-header against Wolverhampton next week. Is there a curfew at KL, because if there is, it could be a problem getting both meetings in, unless we start a little earlier, and cut out any intervals. Certainly looking forward to it anyway.
  2. I wish the clubs would get a move on and arrange dates, as is the case with the KL v Wolverhampton. There must be a great many of us, me included, have other things we do during the week that we neither want or can't miss, yet at the same time don't want to miss the speedway. Given notice, we can at least try to plan around other commitments, but last minute announcements don't help anybody.
  3. The penny didn't drop after the home televised meeting against Swindon, so I wouldn't bet on it.
  4. To be honest, at this moment in time, I think Simon would bring a little more strength to the side than Nicklas, than it is not decrying his efforts. I think we might just sneak a win tonight, but equally so, wouldn't be surprised or that disappointed if we didn't. The main thing as has been said a few times already, we have a team now that wants to ride for the club, and you can sense the feel good factor.
  5. Good to meet you yesterday Dodger Blue. Agreed the meeting wasn't the best by a long shot, but like you, I think Buxton (The home of National League racing) is a lovely place to watch speedway, and I can't wait to return.
  6. As I can't see a thread on this, I thought I'd start one so as to see who intends visiting this local derby. It's the 25 June since the 'Hitmen' saw their own track, thanks to the rain-off against Plymouth, and the withdrawal of King's Lynn from the National League, so the Derbyshire clubs supporters should be eager to finally see some track action again. Since then, the club have suffered defeats at Cradley Heath, Lakeside, Eastbourne and Plymouth, but despite that, they've received complimentary remarks from their hosts for the way they've gone about their business. 10-days ago, they travelled across to the Isle of Wight, and came away with a very impressive 46-44 victory. As for the visiting 'Potters', it's been an up and down season for them, with their only win on the road this season, ironically coming at the High-Edge Raceway, when they saw off Buxton 54-35 in the KO Cup, so revenge tomorrow for Jason Pipe's charges, would be what dreams are made of. I'm making the long journey up from my King's Lynn (well Heacham actually) base for this meeting, and am already counting down the hours, for what should be a very enjoyable afternoon of racing in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. I hope many of you will turn out to support this great little club.
  7. Well that was a nice present for Buster, who celebrated his 59th Birthday yesterday, so glad things have turned for the better at King's Lynn now. It was Matt Ford's birthday yesterday too, bet he wasn't in such a joyous mood (Poole 30 Rye House 60..haha)!!
  8. I haven't seen the meeting on TV, but as someone who was in attendance, it was a decent nights speedway. As for the person who said the crowd was small and the meeting had no atmosphere, can't have been there.
  9. Every few miles, sometimes less, you get large yellow posters along the A149, A10 and I dare say other roads, advertising the next Stock Car/Banger meeting, and it seems such a shame that the same can't be done for speedway.
  10. I've no interest in it either, which is very sad really, as it's as near as KL can get to a local derby.
  11. Never use Twitter, but just seen it on the SCB website thanks.
  12. There's not been an official announcement made of the postponement by either club yet, is this genuine please DWP?
  13. Anybody else heard this, or is it a false alarm? Meeting postponed according to Wolves Speedway tweet
  14. I appreciate that DWP and will give that a try again. I say again, because I did try that once before, but Hillington in particular was at a standstill.
  15. I know I joked about my route, but it would be interesting to know of a genuine route, that didn't cause sitting in traffic for an age today wouldn't it. It's raining quite steadily in Heacham at the moment.
  16. Isn't the A17 closed this week? Thanks DWP, unfortunately I'm coming from Hunstanton. As for you Danny, you would of course win your £100. I could set off now, drive to Norwich, then pick up the road to Ipswich, then come along the A14 before branching off to Thetford then the A134 to Downham Market before using the route DWP mentioned...LOL. Okay, I'm leaving now!!
  17. Yep, I'm dreading the journey. I think it was the year before last, that a 20-minute journey took just short of 2-hours. I always curse the fact there is a speedway meeting the same day as the Flower Show. Before anybody says "Find an alternative route", there isn't one.
  18. KING'S LYNN SPEEDWAY MEDIA INFORMATION DANISH star Thomas Jorgensen is desperate to help King’s Lynn return to winning ways when they welcome Wolverhampton to The Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday (7.30). A depleted Trucks ‘R’ Us Stars side were comfortably beaten 54-38 at Leicester on Monday as they fell to back-to-back Premiership defeats. But Jorgensen has been a solid performer since joining the club last month and was the standout rider in Monday’s fixture as he romped to 13 points. “It took me a couple of rides to get the set-up right and get the feel for the track but to finish off with four wins was really great for me,” Jorgensen said. “To beat riders like Chris Harris and Danny King as well as some other fast riders too was very pleasing and my confidence is growing all the time. “It was a shame my performance wasn’t enough to help the team get the win but we were missing a few riders. “Hopefully will perform much better around our own track on Wednesday though and even though Wolverhampton are a very tough team this year, we’d like to get another win for the fans.” Nicklas Porsing makes his return to the Stars line-up in place of the injured Lewis Rose while captain Robert Lambert will make a late decision on his fitness after crashing in Poland on Sunday. KING’S LYNN: Troy Batchelor, Thomas Jorgensen, Chris Holder, Kai Huckenbeck, Robert Lambert, Nicklas Porsing, Simon Lambert WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Ellis Perks, Nathan Greaves
  19. This is what the Accu weather forecast says for tomorrow in King's Lynn. Wednesday 5pm 6pm 7pm 8pm 9pm 10pm 11pm 12am Forecast Mostly Cloudy Showers Mostly Cloudy Showers Partly Cloudy Cloudy Cloudy Cloudy Bloody hell, that looks like nothing that I copied and pasted!! Basically, it's saying it ain't gonna be a bad day/evening.
  20. All I'm going to say on this subject, is the fact that you don't know Dale Allitt personally, but I do. If you knew the countless hours of sweat he's put in at the gym over the past couple of years, along with his eating habits he has to adhere to most of the time, you would never have said what you did. Reply if you wish, but this will be my only posting on the matter, other than to congratulate you on losing the weight that you did, and to Dale for the weight he's lost in the past 24-months.
  21. I agree with all that you say, and don't really see where Alun Rossiter can go from here. Having said that, he wasn't riding the bike(s), and I can't think of anyway that he could have put a stronger Great Britain side out. As a country, we are not good enough, and it's time we all accepted it, and just enjoy the sport for what it is.
  22. Along with the food at Peterborough, it's the worst I've ever tasted at speedway. These days I'm on special dietary needs, so can't generally eat what's available at stadiums around the country.
  23. Hi Russ, Did the meetings at Iwade (14 May) and Leicester (11 June) ever take place, as I've never been able to find the results anywhere. Thanks Mike
