Peterborough v Ipswich CS Tuesday 24th April
Mimmo replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looking it the BBC weather forecast via Google, it shows nothing but rain or showers every day between today and next Tuesday. -
Unfortunately, showers are forecast tomorrow and for the following six days thereon after. It ain't looking good at the moment, which is a shame after the lovely weather last week.
-
Having just come past Saddlebow Road, if this rain doesn't stop within the next few hours, Buster's going to have a job on his hands making it anywhere near raceable for tomorrow.

Such sad news. I was one of the lucky ones who have supported speedway the full length of his career and beyond, and it's a privilege to have shared the same air space as the great man. Long will I remember his dazzling displays around Exeter's County Ground.......Long will I remember Ivan Mauger. Thanks for the memories, now R.I.P.
-
If that happened, the easy option would be to push the deadline out wouldn't it, after all, the season finishes early September, leaving around 6-7 weeks to wrap up the play-offs.
-
Is that who Mr Shovlar was referring to? Why would a King's Lynn fan, or come to that a Wolverhampton fan (the hardcore who travel) want to stop at home and watch Real Madrid play Bayern Munich, when there own speedway club are racing. Whatever is he talking about....the mind boggles????
-
Having just returned home from King's Lynn and less than a mile from the stadium, nobody in there right mind would really get any pleasure out of standing around tonight for a few hours in a very open environment. It's currently quite foggy, damp with the odd bit of drizzle, and extremely cold. I don't think for one minute that Champions League football on TV (Who's playing anyway, and that's an honest question?) would have kept the public away, but today's weather certainly would have. So I'm with those who think the club have made the right decision to postpone, as have Birmingham for the same reasons, but nobody is having a pop at them, so what makes King's Lynn so different in the moaners eyes?
-
Good call making an early postponement in such poor weather conditions that we are suffering at the moment. It wouldn't really have been enjoyable for anybody in the current circumstances. Also the club haven't had to waste money on printing the programmes, I would assume. Onwards and upwards, and maybe the spring sunshine will be with us for next week.

Tru Plant Stars v Leicester Lions: KO Cup Wed 4th April
Mimmo replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's got me out of a tight spot, as it's my 54th Wedding Anniversary that day, and I'll be back in my wife's good books now, by not going out and leaving her. -
I'm told that they have meetings on the 2nd June, 7th July and 1st September, but know no more than that I'm afraid.

KENT SDL HOME FIXTURES

Presumably some sort of other track action will be taking place on those dates too will they Laurence? Looking at the Dragons fixtures, they're not, so maybe the Southern Track Riders are. Any idea please mate? -
Speedway Best Pairs Cup
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thanks for that. -
I see in the TV magazines that Eurosport are broadcasting the meeting from Torun at 5.00pm this evening. However, when I go through the programme listings on the television itself, there is no mention of it being shown at all. Does anybody know why not please?
-
I'm assuming they're talking about Anders Eriksson, maybe somebody could confirm please.
-
I wonder if that site is reliable, and I don't recollect ever seeing mention of it in the media.
-
I've never read of his passing either Chunky, can you remember where you read that please?
