  5. Certainly used to be the case, but who knows these days, rules seem to change by the hour.
  6. Absolutely nothing on the Wolves v Swindon meeting now that they've both reached the play-off's. Surely they'd have been better off televising the meeting against King's Lynn, who still need points, or better still show the Rye House v Leicester meeting, with the Lions desperately needing points. It's the football for me now, providing its not as boring as the game in Malta was on Friday.
  7. I hope it does get run despite whatever results happen tonight. An incomplete league table (there are still 2-months of the season left) makes a mockery of any sport, let alone speedway, and as I said in an earlier posting, it's a pay night for the riders which they're entitled to.
  8. Still no news on the staging date for this meeting. I wonder why it isn't being held this Wednesday, our normal race day, as the only other meeting on is a National League fixture.
  9. Quite right Trees. It doesn't matter about the politics of why the original meeting was postponed as far as the riders are concerned, they didn't make that decision. Why should they be denied a pay packet and the meeting not run as suggested by phillipsr?
  10. Total nonsense, track staff don't have to have a break. Many meetings are staged without an interval. I used to live in Motspur Park, and supported the 'Dons' from 1958 until they closed, but now live in Norfolk. I hear that Plough Lane is to be demolished (criminal offence IMO), has work started yet?
  11. I can assure you it was pouring with rain for the 13-miles that I drove, which was in the opposite direction to you. Also, one lady told me this morning of the heavy rain along with thunder and lightening she drove through, so guess you were quite lucky.
  12. I was told last week by a steward that there is a 10.30pm curfew for stock cars, but not one for speedway. Whether that is true or not, I have no idea.
  13. Strange one this, because as I type this, Rye House still maintain they are riding at King's Lynn on Thursday 21st August 2017, but King's Lynn don't seem to think that is the case. Sorry, that should read 31st August.
  14. I wonder if we're looking at another double-header next Thursday. Our website says we are entertaining Poole that evening, which the Dorset club concur with. However, Rye House have issued a press release stating that they have agreed to ride at the AFA next Thursday!!
  15. King's Lynn are at home against Poole on Thursday 31 August according to the website.
  16. Lets hope we can all see an enjoyable meeting this afternoon, no matter which team you/we favour. Have a safe one everybody.
  17. But what about the 10.30pm curfew I've been told is in place at King's Lynn? Was that the case when you were involved JC?
  18. Richie Worrall came in and did a good job for Poole in their hour of need, and I'd have thought it would have been a nice gesture by Matt Ford to offer a talented Brit a job before an overseas rider.
  19. One of the stadium security men has told me twice now, that there is a 10.30pm time curfew at the AFA, but I can't see that being true, as we'd never get two meetings through in that time. I'm told Mildenhall got an evening meeting finished in an hour and 25 minutes recently, and Buxton regularly achieve 90-minutes.....BUT!!
