I'm amazed that he called this off, when he's so good at turning tracks around in a very short space of time. I am 13-miles from the stadium, so can only assume that conditions were a lot worse that short distance away, than they are here, which of course happens. So disappointed, as last years meeting was probably the best speedway seen at the venue throughout the entire season, at any level (excluding WTC, as I never bothered with that), and despitea somewhat depleted field for this restaging, it still provided enough quality riders to make it an exciting afternoon of action.

It's so frustrating having mown the back lawn since lunch, and my wife dead heading the roses dahlias on such a lovely afternoon, that we could have been watching a speedway meeting 20-minutes down the road. OH DEAR!!

The forecasters seem to have got it correct. The rain stopped quite a while ago, it's almost completely dried up, and the sun is winking at me......BLOODY TYPICAL.

King's Lynn Press Release. KING’S Lynn are gearing up for a huge afternoon of action as they host the showpiece National League Pairs Championship at the Adrian Flux Arena on Sunday (3.30). The top riders in the third tier will battle for major silverware in the popular event, which was originally postponed due to rain on August 27. Elite League title winner Max Clegg, former Stars man Ashley Morris plus talented Poole reserve Adam Ellis will be amongst those in action. The Young Stars will be represented by skipper Scott Campos and Ryan Kinsley as they fight to progress from a strong Group A. King’s Lynn co-promoter Dale Allitt is expecting an exciting day of racing which will prove well worth the wait. Said Allitt: “It was unfortunate the first running was rained off, but it’s still a very good line-up with lots of top riders on show. “These meetings always tend to give you plenty of good racing. It was very competitive last year, and again when you look at the line-up there is no reason this year will be any different. “We’re pleased to be hosting this event again, and I’m sure all 10 teams will be giving it their all to try and get some silverware with the end of the season approaching.” Admission has been priced at £15 for adults and £4 for juniors. NATIONAL LEAGUE PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP LINE-UP: GROUP A: CRADLEY: Ashley Morris & Max Clegg. EASTBOURNE: Adam Ellis & Jake Knight. ISLE OF WIGHT: Mark Baseby & Chris Widman. KING'S LYNN: Scott Campos & Ryan Kinsley. MILDENHALL: Jon Armstrong & Danny Halsey. GROUP B: BELLE VUE: Matt Williamson & Rob Shuttleworth. BIRMINGHAM: Tom Perry & Jack Smith. KENT: Luke Bowen & Jack Thomas. RYE HOUSE: Ben Morley & Robert Branford. STOKE: Danny Phillips & Chris Hay.

How on earth are they going to print a programme if clubs still haven't named their pairings. Whoops, just realised, the original rain-off will probably be used, so plenty of biros and tippex needed!!

Doyle Withdraws From Melbourne Gp -- Official
Mimmo replied to mike1944's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I've never been a fan of his, but like all the other posters, I feel so sorry for the guy. I'm sure he would have lifted the title this year, and deservedly so too. I don't begrudge Greg Hancock winning the title again, because a 'Big One' like Jason Doyle has received, could just as easily have happened to the American. As I said, I'm not a fan of his, but do recognise the immense talent of the man, and I truly hope that he makes a full recovery in the shortest space of time, and realises his dream in 2017. -
Flippin' heck, I hit the buy tickets instantly the e-mail came through without any delay whatsoever, yet already the rows and seats I would have liked had gone. Some people must be able to reserve, even before we are notified, as this is the second year running that the same thing has happened!!

Leicester V Kings Lynn On/off ?
Mimmo replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Friday won't be easy for King's Lynn fans with rain-off tickets living and working in and around Norwich or Great Yarmouth, in fact I'd have thought it nigh impossible. What's the matter with Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th October? I've got my money back now, so would have liked to have attended the meeting, but Friday is no goer for me and my family. Bloody shame. Just realised the ELRC is on the 8th. -
I didn't know he'd quit, plus I wouldn't know out to access Twitter!!

Final N.j.l. 4 Team Tournament 2016
Mimmo replied to Cubsforever's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Great Report, very many thanks. -
DOUBLE SHOCK!!!!!! SHOCK ONE: I've received a cheque from Leicester by means of a refund for the tickets following the postponement of the meeting in July. SHOCK TWO: The said cheque HASN'T bounced. I must at this point offer my sincere thanks to some people who did a lot of work on my behalf, following the refusal to reply to anybody's letters by Messrs Machin & Darcy. Linda Jones (Leicester Speedway) spent a lot of her own private time in her quest to help. Yula Hemsley who had put my name on the gate last Saturday prior to the meeting being rained-off again, in case I didn't receive my refund. Sir Henry Bellingham MP who put written pressure on those responsible at the club. A solicitor who gave me guidelines as to what I could or couldn't do if the matter wasn't resolved in my favour. THANK YOU TO ALL FOUR OF YOU. It's been a huge disappointment that all this nonsense had to happen, and I can only hope that if the present promotion are actively involved with any club in 2017, that they will put their hand on their heart, and admit to themselves that they treated the paying public incorrectly. I'm now looking forward to visiting Leicester tomorrow for the NLRC

New Scb Chief Officer Announced.
Mimmo replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Congratulations to Neil Vatcher, a man I have a lot of respect for. Thank you too, to Graham Reeve, who in my opinion has been a master in that role. I wish him well for the future. -
Kings Lynn V Poole Elb 13/09/16
Mimmo replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I know what you're saying about the tractors GRW123, it's so annoying when you can't hear what's taking place elsewhere. Where I was positioned, I could still hear the interviews by Kevin, so I was lucky from that point of view. But quite often I've been at tracks and suffered what you did last night, and it's not acceptable. One of my big gripes at a great many venues, is the announcer/presenter gives out winning times when a rider is still on the track with his engine roaring. I don't post to much about King's Lynn on this forum, even though I do read peoples comments, and both agree and disagree with a lot of them, but will pass comment now the EL season has finished (whatever happened to the good old days when we ran right up until the end of October!!). There's been a huge amount of criticism about the team this year, and yes, the promotion did get it wrong when putting the side together, possibly because we waited to long for Niels to declare his intent, but hindsight and all that. I've got no time for Troy Batchelor as a rider, but as he quite rightly said last night, he or no one else don't deliberately ride badly, because no points = no bread on the table. So although as a team, we were not good enough, by the standards we've come to expect, I'm sure that EVERYBODY rode to the best of their ability on every race night. So from a personal point of view, I thank each and every one of you that donned our colours throughout 2016, for putting on a show for us....and doing you best. To Keith, Rob and Dale who all accept that mistakes have been made at management level, have been 'Man' enough to publically admit that, something some promoters would never do. So thank you Keith in particular, for ensuring that speedway continues in the town, because it doesn't matter how good or bad our race meetings are, long lost fans of clubs like Oxford, Reading etc., etc. would give their back teeth to be in our position. With a few National League meetings left, it would be lovely to see a lot of you attend those. THE NL Pairs Final was possibly the best meeting staged at the arena last year, and with both Eastbourne and Rye House to come in search of league points, there is still plenty to enjoy before we all go into hibernation. -
I know we live a world of "Faceache", "Twits" and them Telegram things, as you say, not everybody uses that form of social media, especially the old people such as myself. It's probably notthat we don't want to use them, but when you get to a certain age, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn, and then remember things. Modern technology being what it is, is a nightmare for me and thousands like me. I've obviously heard the expression 'Twitter' but wouldn't have the first idea how to use it, and to be honest, I don't even understand the language they are conveying!! As for 'Instergram', what the bloody hell is that.....I honestly don't know? I rely 100% on either the club website or BSPA website. Although I've been quick to run Leicester down since the July fiasco, I will say in their defence, that the person who looks after their website, is on holiday. The club didn't originally have a meeting planned for today, so they thought it would be safe to take a few days away, as any volunteer is more than entitled to do. It could be said that one of the clubs promoters should update the website when this situation occurs, but when those same promoters aren't aware of the terms and conditions in their own matchday programme, then I guess that would be a step to far. As for the restaging, I hope for the sake of King's Lynn fans that will be at work during the day, and want to use their rain-off tickets, that it's not staged midweek, thus making it impossible for those people to make the journey. Neither side are going to make the play-off's (I know I'm stating the obvious), so let's hope its run on 24 September or one Saturday/Sunday in October.

Sam Woolley is their most used rider scoring twenty points from his five meetings, notching a 5.00 average. He’s recorded one race win, six second places, five times third, and four last places. Buxton have utilised the services of more riders than any other club, with a total of eighteen. Lee Geary and Jamie Halder are the leaders of their pack, with one meeting a piece for a 12.00 average. The most used rider has been Sam Wright, who has donned their colours in eight out of the ten matches ridden. The 16-year old rider currently boasts a 6.78 average, having won five of his twenty-three rides. Josh Embleton is the next most used man, with five appearances. Coventry produced a sensation in the form of Eryk Borczuch back on the 13 May, when he blitzed King’s Lynn with a 9-point maximum, winning all three races by a country mile, yet strangely he’s never been used since!! Young Henry Atkins is putting in a marvellous shift for the Warwickshire club, with an impressive 10.15 average from his four appearances. Most used rider has been Mitchell Beckett having ridden in twenty-two races throughout the course of his eight meetings. King’s Lynn have relied heavily on Lewis Austen and Lewis Whitmore with seven and six appearances respectively during the course of the ‘Morello Racing Lightning’s’ eight completed fixtures. Layne Cupitt has the distinction of sitting on the Norfolk outfits highest average with 12.00. But like Geary and Halder at Coventry, he’s only made the one appearance. Long Eaton also have Jamie Halder sitting on top of their pile, once again with a 12.00 average from his single meeting at Scunthorpe in July. Having raced nine league meetings, the Leicester based club have shown much faith in Stephen Whitehouse and Craig Osborne, giving them seven meetings each for a 5.76 and 3.05 average respectively. Mildenhall have used less riders than any other club, with nine different names appearing in their statistics. Team manager Phil Kirk issues more press releases for his club than any other, and it appears to be working dividends, as the majority of the public remain after the main event, to watch the up and coming West Row hopefulls. Although Luke Ruddick is registered as their top man with his 12.00 average, like so many other riders in the league, that does come from just one meeting. Alex Spooner is the most familiar face with the fans, having ridden in all seven of the East Anglian sides meetings, for a 4.89 average. The 16-year old is yet to win a race away from home, but it won’t be long in happening, as he slowly climbs the speedway ladder of success. Milton Keynes who are based at Peterborough this year, aren’t the dominant force they were in 2016, and are currently propping up their section of the league table, having won just three of their eleven meetings. William O’Keefe and Connor King are their most used riders, both having ridden in the seven meetings. At the moment, O’Keefe is proving to be the slightly better prospect, but it’s very marginal with a mere 1.18 different in their averages for the ‘Knights. Scunthorpe unquestionaby due to facility availability, do more for youth speedway than any other club, and are a credit to the sport. They’ve ridden eleven league matches at this point, and have used the same amount of different riders, using Lloyd Ditchburn in ten of those meetings. The only meeting he missed was the 19-16 home victory over Belle Vue early in July. His current average is 1.58 up on his closing one of 2015, which proves the Midland Development League is doing the job it set out to do. NJL AVERAGES (Up to and including 31 August 2016) (Compiled by Mike Moseley) Joe Lawlor 11.64 Kieran Douglas 11.00 Kieran McCoy(aka Taylor) 10.33 Jordan Palin 10.29 Corban Pavitt 9.56 Chris Hay 8.89 George Rothery 8.89 Mark McIlkenny 8.44 Jack Flynn 8.00 James Hitchen 8.00 Kevin Whelan 7.83 Archie Freeman 7.78 Carl Basford 7.47 Blair Smith 6.67 Josh Embleton 6.15 Sam McGurk 6.12 Ryan Morris 5.67 Lewis Millar 5.33 Gavin Parr 5.33 Luke McKenna 4.67 Luke Harrison 4.38 Jack Wright 4.19 David Morgan 4.00 Elliot Kelly 3.78 Lloyd Ditchburn 3.60 Liam Little 3.11 Dale Pate 3.00 Andrew Blackburn 2.67 Sam Chapman 2.67 Bailey Fellows 2.67 Kris Forster 2.67 Dale Lamb 2.67 Gregor Millar 2.40 Sheldon Davies 2.22 Alex Goldsbrough 2.13 William O’Keefe 1.82 SNIPPITS: Berwick currently occupy second place in the league standings, having used seven different riders during their eight matches. Kevin Whelan boasts a 100% record, having lined up in every meeting. His average of 7.83 puts him in fourth place in the Border Raiders charts behind Kieran Douglas, Corban Pavitt and Mark McIlkenny. Halifax are based at Scunthorpe and are current league leaders, not having lost a match yet. The only slip up they’ve made is when they drew at Workington on the 14 May. Joe Lawlor leads the way by example, with an 11.64 average, but close on his heels having ridden three meetings more, is Beverley born Jordan Palin, with a current CMA of 10.29. The Yorkshire man, has finished either first or second in every away meeting he’s ridden for the Dukes up to this point. Newcastle still have an equal amount of meetings to ride home and away, so far only winning once at home, which was against Redcar on the 23 May. Six meetings and six different riders used, is a commendable record, especially as Archie Freeman, Jack Wright and Dale Pate have ridden in the lot. Of the three, Freeman leads the pack on a 7.78 average, with plenty of time to improve on that figure. He is also the only rider to not have finished last in a race on Tyneside. Northside have used nine different riders up to this point in time, with Corban Pavitt coming to the tapes in all six of the clubs fixtures. Proudly displaying a 10.22 CMA, he’s won twelve out of his eighteen races for the Cumbrian outfit. Gregor Millar has only missed one meeting, but is yet to win a race home or away, and I’m sure that will be rectified before the end of the campaign. Redcar have a record they’d like to be rid of, as it reads six meetings, six defeats. With Berwick the only team left to visit the South Tees Motorsports Park, they may be looking to achieve that elusive victory on their travels. Carl Basford is ‘Stockton Van Centre Cubs’ main attraction with his impressive 7.47 average. Elliot Kelly is Mr 100% having ridden in each and every meeting acquiring a 3.33 average at home, and 4.67 away. Workington have the unofficial unwanted record of having used more riders than anybody else, that being eleven in total. Kieran McCoy who sometimes rides as Kieran Taylor, is making good strides forward in his career, achieving a 10.33 average for the ‘Meteors’ , putting him in third place in the overall Northern Junior League averages. He’s won every race he’s been in away from home, and is yet to finish last in any heat this year. Lloyd Ditchburn has ridden in every meeting bar one, but then it’s a case of whoever is available on the day.

Thanks for the advice Star Lady. Yes it is that show, and if I can get them to swop for similar seats I will try that. Trouble is that show is so popular, I don't think I've got a cat in hells chance of getting anything quite so near to the front. There are three or four KL fans going to the show on Tuesday too, it's so frustrating. Oh sod it, I'm going to the theatre. Take Care, and enjoy it on Wednesday.
