I think Oldace has already said which one if you read it again. I hope nothing like that ever happens at Rye House though. Yes, Len is out of touch, but nobody can really want to see the club fold. Stick with it Rockets fans, dated speedway is better than no speedway.......ask Hackney, Wimbledon, Crayford, Canterbury, White City, Rayleigh, Romford, Oxford, Norwich, Long Eaton, the list is absolutely never ending.

I haven't read any of the post in full, just odd bits 'n pieces. I've got to agree with positive reports about the meeting against Scunthorpe, and is the best meeting I've seen at any level this year. Agree about the lighting in the Grandstand, it's simply terrible. Would stronger light bulbs be the answer maybe?? I usually sit at the back of the stand, and quite honestly, I scribble results on a piece of paper, then transfer them to my programme when I get home, which of course is not the idea of buying a proggie in the first place. As for the lower order of the team, if I were the management, I'd be keeping close tabs on Matt Williamson, because having watched him on a fast track at Redcar, I think he'd fly around the Showground given time. With regards to league that you race in, I personally think it's the best thing that's ever happened to the club, as it's producing far superior racing to that of the Elite League. Just my opinions of course.

It's a super little venue that can produce very good racing at times. I know there's been documented issues on this forum before over the rights and wrongs in the way that Len Silver operates, but the club, as a club, needs and deserves it's fans to stick by them. The sport would be poorer without clubs like Rye House, but I agree that if there are rumours running around, then an official statement of fact or denial should be made by the management. I've not been able to travel up to the place as much as normal this year, but when I have come, I have left feeling short changed. The gate at King's Lynn was abysmal last night too, and the fact that an England football match was on the box wouldn't have helped either of us, but of course that isn't the sole reason. As for King's Lynn, people generally stick their noses up at National League racing. Their choice of course, but that league in their case, is part and parcel of the revenue that's required to sustain the higher level of racing that the public seem to crave for, although I personally don't understand why, as it comes a poor second to Premier League racing. As for Rye House, I can't in my wildest dreams think midweek racing is a good idea. They've always been a weekend track, and that's how they should remain, whether it be Saturday or Sunday. Just my opinions, and I accept there will be those who disagree, and have that right to do so.

He walked past me at the end of the meeting. He looked as though he was feeling pain from his back. On the 27th April, we set a club record at third tier level (National League) with our resounding 71-19 victory at Scunthorpe, the biggest victory since joining the league in 2009. Lo and behold what should happen last night other than we not only beat the same team by the same score, but it set up a club home highest win. The previous best was 68-25 v Isle of Wight (13.06.2009) and 67-24 v Scunthorpe (02.04.2014).

19-points doesn't really do their efforts justice, and as I said on Sunday, you've got two good 'uns in Arron Mogridge & Sam Chapman. I also thought guest Sam Woods put in a good performance too, and is finally beginning to show some development. Don't care who the ref is as long as he/she keeps their finger firmly on the 2-minute button. Buxton comfortably get through a meeting in 90-minutes, in fact if memory serves me right, Scunthorpe have finished a meeting even quicker than that. I wonder what's the fastest time a 15-heat meeting has ever been completed in. It's still a lovely day at the moment, and the BBC on-line forecast predicts only a 30% chance of showers. Looking forward to the double-header at the Norfolk Arena tomorrow evening, and it'll be great if not just the Mildenhall fans make the trip, but also if the Scunthorpe fans can muster up enough enthusiasm to come along and cheer their 'Stags' on. The clash against local rivals from West Row is going to be a tight affair I'd have thought, and the result could go either way. With regards to the meeting against our Lincolnshire friends, much depends on how the weather holds ...out, because the forecast is not good, and I fear the first meeting might take it out of the track. However, if all is well, one would expect a substancial victory for the home side. But having seen them at Mildenhall on Sunday, they are no where as bad as their results would suggest, with one or two shining lights in their septet, none more so than Arron Mogridge and Sam Chapman, who are prepared to play second fiddle to none. One down side is that the start time remains at 7.30pm, which means it will be 9.00pm at the earliest before the second encounter gets underway, and I just fear we could be getting to the point where only staff and riders will still be in attendance.......plus me and Maureen of course!! The referee must keep is finger super glued to the 2-minute button like they do in Southern Track Riders and Dragons meetings. If a restart of a race is called for a minor offence, keep the pit gate shut, as the riders should have no need to return for adjustments to their machinery, that should have all been sorted a minute earlier.
