Was that when we were missing Wright who had scored paid 19 at Foxhall and we got 3 from his replacements? We did beat you twice on aggregate that year when we had a full team and you had your top 2.
-
The Aces might get a look in as the witches management have admitted many times that they don’t get on with a racers track like NSS.
-
Away from Belle Vue it would be essential for him to improve his gating and thus make things easier for him, boring for us.
-
We’d love to keep Ben, same with Tom, Max, Worralls, Craig etc but rules are rules and if we can help other clubs operate, then all the better. There’s always a warm welcome back for our ex Aces.
-
We tried our bit by putting the hard yards in with Tom for you to get some benefit this year. With regards some other clubs I can see exactly what you mean. 😡
-
Whoever he rides for I hope he doesn’t struggle in the top five. Norick came in at reserve, added a fabulous 1.83 to his starting average due to some tremendous backing from his Aces teammates but dropped back a little whilst at 2 this year. Kenyan has had similar success adding 0.67 to his starting average, due to the backing of the Witches and fingers crossed he gets the backing to hold his own in the top 5.
-
Surprising as he was your RS in 2022, or maybe not. I’ve heard of riders being ghosted by the club they ride for when looking to the following season. 😡
-
He’ll fit in at Belle Vue then, if he joins. For over 50 years of watching The Aces we’ve been a team of poor gaters apart from the odd couple in the team every season. If he gets his racing mojo he’ll love the NSS. Might be his thinking.
-
It might benefit him riding a track that offers multiple passing opportunities and where you have to vigorously defend your position due to amount of racing lines. He’ll have to adapt and race to the checked flag instead of just gating and settling. He was passed in almost all his races at NSS and I agree it is easy to ride though not easy to race, so there’s work to be done from him this season. He can’t just rely on his gating but many do and remain fine middle order men, which at the minute we need. All dependant on what he feels is best for him.
-
Agreed. Nuisance them getting a rescue plan together that could potentially hit your team building plans. Have to keep an eye on improving ‘B’s next season and hope they do actually shut down this time. Be a real boon for you. Up the Witches!
-
If you pick them young enough you can enjoy seeing them ripen. The older more established ones are more expensive and can go off.
-
There was only the Stars meetings that would effect their average as play offs don’t count. Over those two meetings they scored 90 points so didn’t really go overboard in increasing/decreasing their averages.
-
Indeed he is. Best put your tin hat on with a post like that. 🤣
-
Belle Vue recent “cherrypicking” Brady 7.50 Jaimon 4.00 Norick 4.00 Dan 3.00. Tom RS and a bit further back Max 4.80. I’m sure a Ipswich recent historian can fill us in with much the same. 🤣 Maybe look up what cherry-pick actually means.
-
Louis getting it very wrong there as Every rider is out of contract on October 31st. copywrite Arch Stanton 2024.
-
2021 to be exact.
-
Not good for the rider when that’s the case. Connor Mountains last seven meetings for us were a really struggle. Aside from 11 from 7 at Oxford he was averaging less than 3 points a meeting with a point of that being gained by defeating our RS. Torrid time for the lad and as with Joe it’s good to give them time away to regroup.
-
It’ll definitely make the play offs but then anything could happen. You could say, lose your number 4 to injury who had scored paid 19 at a track that season only to see his replacements score 3 and gift the opponents a bye to the final.
-
Klindt wasn’t due to covid in 2021. Ronan replaced the injured Riss. Wasn’t sure about Jordan but it’s difficult to keep up with all the changes.
-
Post lock down attempts for silverware Connor Mountain* - Tate Zischke Jake Mulford - Connor Bailey Joe Thompson - Dan Thompson Cameron Heeps - Ben Barker Ben Barker - Aaron Summers Nicolai Klindt - Jake Allen Jordan Stewart - Paul Starke *Connor was the second oldest in the team, a few months younger than Brady.
-
If they do drop Danny for Tom then it would remove the last “club man” they had and provide a clean sweep on how to buy in a winning team. Cherrypicking at its finest. They should adopt the cherry as their emblem for 2025.
-
That doesn’t really matter these days as all meetings are over two legs, even the qualifiers with the bonus. I’d sooner sign a lad who can score 9/10 over two legs with a massive differential than one that scores 4 home and away.
-
Absolutely, you’ve been a welcome addition to the NDL for the last five seasons. If we can do it, then why can’t others?
-
Bickley, you win some, you lose some. It won’t soften our determination on rider development. We do spend money on bringing on lads, whether for the benefit of us or others and it’s been easier for us to attract riders over the past decade as we are the only ever present development league team. We do have a dam good set up as well and it’s definitely not about the money. (See Cairns) No other top flight club comes close in terms of commitment to the youngsters development.

Our number 8 Jack Shimelt rode in all meetings since we signed William apart from Edinburgh away (unavailable), when we blooded Billy Budd. We had a problem with Chads injury stretching out longer than we expected, despite several practice attempts. As for running away with meetings, it was a last heat decider v Oxford at home and Sheffield away was settled in heat 14. William wasn’t even involved in the Sheffield thrashing during our final meeting. That JUST leaves Edinburgh. We wrote the memo.
