  1. Most would think the chances of Musielak getting 3 from 3 are probably very low - without checking.
  2. The Aces ‘ massive home advantage is coming to the fore this year, well apart from against Sheffield in the cup,Ipswich, Oxford and Kings Lynn.
  3. We’re still waiting for the carpet & brush (we got a working lift) to be delivered as well as the completed south stand etc. lol.
  4. If/when the NSS closes I’ll be lost to the sport after fifty odd years. Away from the NSS it is now a far too tedious affair and with no team interest it’s only use is as an insomnia cure. Considering I use to taking in 100+ meetings away from Belle Vue every year, it’s a sad position the sport has engineered itself into.
  5. In the league only 2 out of 5 opponents at the NSS have ridden with their complete team. The Aces have been 100% on their travels. “This is Manchester, we do things differently here.” Ref:24 hour party people.
  6. Anders Rowe was on the RS list at the start of the 2021 season. Ipswich signed Drew Kemp as their RS and Anders as their other reserve. Anders guested for Sheffield in place of their RS Josh Bates and when I queried it stating Anders was no longer an RS, they said he was on the list at the start so he stays an RS. Anders average was 5.49 which dwarfed Bates’ figure (He finished on 2.67). His paid 6 secured a narrow 2 point win for the Tigers. It could have been another of those Belle Vue/Bates things and Edwards might well no longer be an RS. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rising-stars/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/p21_issue_10.pdf https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rider-statistics/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/21results/sheffield_01.07.21_res.pdf
  7. He’s not off the list. https://www.scbgb.co.uk/risingstars
  8. The rule book is ignored to suit teams on many occasions. You cannot have a facility for a rider that is yet to ride for you but it’s often ignored. You cannot use an assessed average rider as a guest but it happened. You can stop a rider being included in a team even if the rules state he can ride - if you know the right people. I could go on. The fact it takes lawyers to force a sport to ride by its own rule book tells us all we need to know about this once great sport of ours and why it’s dead in the water.
  9. With that thinking, you’ve never beaten us in the play offs.
  10. See Bates is at it again, what was it this time free carvery? If that’s the way you need to win, we’ll leave it with you. At least the racing was great - oh wait a minute. The only silver lining is that Tigers fans have to endure that dross for an additional 15 heats.
  11. I think whoever gates the best will win.
  12. I felt the same when Brummies top rider Pawlicki passed our RS the week before yet it was considered one of the “highlights” from several, apparently.
  13. I think Dan read this before heat 15 and in my opinion you were both wrong. Birmingham played it correct track wise but it made for very poor viewing. Glad a few diehards enjoyed it though.
  14. From what I saw then read on updates only 12 out of 15 (80%) were like this. Just shows the ignorance of none speedway fans.
  15. Don’t think I’ll get to see the end of this. I asked the pub to put it on but it’s not going down well with the regulars and tbh I can’t argue with their criticisms. Zzzzzz It’s now off, in favour of music videos. Updates for me then.
  16. Tough call for the Brummies, make it gate ‘n’ go for a tedious win or make it a (R)Aces track for an entertaining defeat. I foresee the former which is unfortunately the norm for UK speedway and sees the casual observer switching off in their droves vowing never to visit this inane sport of ours.
  17. I know gate ‘n’ go has gained in popularity over the decades to the point now where it’s the preferred way to present the sport in the UK but I never thought in all my years on this crazy forum I’d hear someone complaining about overtaking at a meeting. This is the zenith of this forum and demonstrates how out of touch I am with this sport now.
  18. Been very gate ‘n’ go at the NSS due to the cold & damp. Not a fan even if it’s a popular trend. As with the away fixture I see a witches win and a very tedious affair for the (R)Aces fans.
  19. Excellent from Max there on lap 1. Quite why the sport doesn’t adopt one lap dash’s is beyond me as at most tracks nothing of note happens after the first lap. Be over quicker as well.
  20. Sorry to hear that. Just out of interest where do you watch your speedway most often as we could take a look and try and emulate them. It’s was announced many times what was going on during the interviews with the lads. Straight from the horses mouth so to speak.
  21. One rider from each side was guilty of exceeding the time allowance. One rider was informed by his team manager that he was to go off 15m and he duly arrived at the start using the 15m marker set out by the marshals. One rider was not informed by his manager and he incorrectly arrived at tapes to start the race. The marshals & ref didn’t know if this was the original rider or a reserve replacement as the manager hadn’t let anyone know how his team was to be formulated for this heat, indeed this was announced over the PA system. There was then a delay whilst confirmation was sort from the manager and once this was established the rider was shown to his starting position by the start marshals. Not really an issue on a sunny afternoon but I can see how the managers actions could cause dissatisfaction from some of the crowd. I’m sure he will learn from it. Well done to the riders for provided some great entertainment and the track staff and promotion for provided track time for these future league riders when so few don’t invest in the future of the sport.
  22. By way of explanation to the 7 newbies. A pre start shower definitely affected the track and rider performance so it was decided to spend 20 minutes making the track safer for the young lads taking part who were getting into difficulty. Rider safety is paramount. The interval was dispensed with and the whole meeting was completed in under two hours. If less than two hours is “a complete waste of time” then maybe speedway isn’t for you. With regards the start marshals can you be more specific with regards any perceived issues?
