Tee hee Mrs Miggins, tee hee. The beggar is a global superstar and Wieslaw Jagus is a no-hoper. Tee hee Mrs Miggins, tee hee.

Scott Nicholls In The Gps
Subedei replied to Paula's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Simple answer, I don't know. I under-rate BP, I know I do and I can't work out why I do. He's ploughing along quite nicely in the EL, but perhaps he'll suffer in the GPs through his decision to ride in the lower tier of Polish speedway. As for Adams, he's always a decent each way bet, but you always sense there'll be someone there who'll want it more. If I were a betting man, I'd be on Crump to win, or Jonsson each way. -

Andreas Jonsson, on both counts. -

It's certainly not a personal thing, just my honestly held view - he's had more than enough chances. Furthermore, as I keep saying, but people choose not to read it properly, it'll probably do him no harm at all to have a season out of the GPs. He's not made progress for the last few seasons. Andersen hadn't made much progress for a couple of seasons and then, bang, out of the GPs and with a point to prove. -

You'll be lucky. He just goes on and on like a stuck record but it's lovely and quiet since I put him on my ignore list. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I care that you ignore me? No, not really. Churchill was ignored by the appeasers in the 1930s. -

No, he wouldn't - justice undone. -

Everything to do with Andersen. He missed more GPs than the beggar, but still ended up in a qualifying position. And, anyway, as I've said before, there's no guarantee the beggar would've qualified - the whole series would've changed, so you can't simply say the beggar would've scored this and everyone else would've scored the same. Furthermore, Andersen didn't arrogantly dismiss the qualification process. -

Just Who Are The Top 15 In The World?
Subedei replied to GSC_1's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The basis for that would appear to be that neither has ever raced in the UK. After all, in the two leagues in which we can compare their efforts, Wieslaw Jagus finished last season with averages superior to those of the beggar. -

I'm disappointed, to be honest. Thought you had quite a bit of knowledge about the sport. But to dismiss Wielsaw Jagus as "totally out of his depth" is not something I would do with much confidence. After all, this is a man who made the final in his sole GP appearance last season. -

No doubt I'll hear about it. But the Italian GP is such poor entertainment, I'll be at Berwick, since it's never been worth watching the Lonigo action so far. It's not quite as bad as Cardiff or Denmark, but it's still very poor. -

Now you're just being silly. Would you be so good as to remind me how many GPs Hans Andersen missed last season? I've completely forgotten. But I remember that he finished a lot higher than your beloved beggar. And he didn't see the qualification process as being beneath him either. -

No, that's a bankrupt argument that doesn't hold water. But feel free to try again. -

And every one said the same last season. He'd qualify for 2007, no trouble. Problem is, he didn't. In fact, he went further. The beggar said, when he decided that the qualification process was beneath his exalted status as the princeling of British speedway, that if he couldn't qualify via the GPs, on merit, it would mean he didn't deserve to be in the GPs. For that reason, if he had a single shred of decency or integrity, he'd have refused any offer of a place. But he chose to beg and bring shame on himself and British speedway. -

And so, having been soundly trounced by the superior reason of my argument, you fall back on vague hints of homosexual tendancies. We're in the twenty-first century now you know. And, by the way, me thinks isn't all one word. -

And if decency, integrity and honour were not alien concepts to the beggar, he wouldn't have even considered accepting. Probably did beg for the offer anyway. As I recall, he was soon saying he felt he deserved another go on Planet Speedway. -

I'll cut it out when the begging stops. -
Wouldn't Zielona Gora versus Leszno be up there with Torun versus Bydgsozcz.

A shame about Peter Ljung - I hope he has a quick recovery. Early days, I know, but Rafal Okoniewski is looking like being an excellent signing by Bydgoszcz.

In the absence of a geographical feature called a "speedway track" we must assume that all such things are man made. Anyway, as usual, the Meynell has made some excellent points. The GPs have shrunk to a 16 rider line-up and in 2007 the winner of the GP might not necessarily score the most points from that GP. Indeed, it's theoretically possible for a rider to win each and every single GP and still not be world champion. Unlikely, granted, but possible. And that's progress? BSI - IMG now, I guess - are having to fork over £100,000 to the winner of the German GP in a desperate bid to drum up interest and stop it flopping. IMG have bought in haste and may be left to repent at their leisure. -

Time for Lindback to produce the goods. I wouldn't have had him in this season - he's heading for beggar status. -

Which just shows you prefer style over substance - the Hackney track was superior to the Cardiff track, the Vojens track is better than the Parken track and it's likely that the Pocking track will be superior to the Gelsenkirchen track. -
