Well, Wroclaw will drop off the calendar for 2008, with Leszno taking it's place. So, with the Wroclaw GP out of the way for 2007, you don't need to worry about Wroclaw. As for Leszno, it'll host the SWC this year, so some information should be forthcoming. It seems a popular circuit with the Poles hereabouts.
-
I may be mistaken, but didn't you post a freeze frame from last year's Kskro GP that showed young Nicki P riding with both wheels over the "white line" in one race?

Scott Nicholls In The Gps
Subedei replied to Paula's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
All above your hero. But that's not too hard, since only Lindback of the permanent fifteen is below him. -
I happened across the current GP standings last evening. They're as follows: 1..N Pedersen..58 2..G Hancock..43 3..L Adams..43 4..H Andersen..42 5..C Harris..31 6..J Crump..29 7..W Jagus..26 8..T Gollob..22 9..M Zagar..19 10..J Hampel..19 11..A Jonsson..17 12..R Holta..17 13..B Pedersen..16 14..S Nicholls..14 15..(W)..F Lindgren..14 16..A Lindback..6 17..(W)..S Ulamek..6 18..(W)..M Carpanese..2 So, we find three of BSI's nominations for the series as the bottom three of the permanent riders (I've highlighted them in bold). All of them failures last season and repeating their failure this season. Antonio Lindback's scoring, thus far, is shocking and in all honesty, if I were an adviser to the young fellow, I'd be suggesting he seriously consider resigning from the series because I feel this is really doing his long term prospects a lot of harm.
-
Shame really. People would pay bloody good money to see Harris versus Harris.

Scott Nicholls In The Gps
Subedei replied to Paula's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Always said Lindgren should've had any Swedish nomination. Lindback had his chances and blew them. Not as many as the British champion, but enough. -
I keep hoping this thread will turn out to be about me being correct regarding the British champion. Maybe one day someone will start that one.

Return To The Old Ways Or . . . .
Subedei replied to uglydave's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The GPs will implode, in the end. I don't believe they're sustainable in the long term. Maybe that's why Postlethwaite surrendered the concession to IMG - getting out while the going's good. -
According to Mr Oakes' fine "Daily Mirror 1979 Speedway Year Book", the details are as follows: Track length: 300 yards - 274 metres Track record: 56.8 seconds, John Jackson (Ellesmere Port), July 25, 1978. It looks very much like Ellesmere Port won that meeting 35-43, with young Jackson scoring a 12 point maximum, as did team mate Phil Collins.
-
The Park Road track record in 1978 was held by John Jackson at 56.8 seconds.
-
Sure you haven't mistaken a Zagar for a Jagus? He finished third ahead of Zagar in one race.
-
Am I missing something? Jagus was only beaten once this afternoon (5-1ed by Zielinski and Holta), so how could Zielinski beat him twice?

Gp 3 Eskilstuna May 26
Subedei replied to tarabanko's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes, still, it looks like the meeting can only get easier for young Gollob. I'd be astonished if he can avoid a zero in Ht 3. -
I suppose it depends on whether you classify a few weeks at the start of the season as riding in Britain. If you do, then I guess it probably is Egon Muller in 1983, if you don't, Tony Rickardsson in 2005.
-
Don't get too carried away. I'm still about 5-6 threads behind the true forum star: Steve Shovlar.
-
It was rather funny. But, fair play to Holta, leaving aside Harris' heroics, his overtake was one of the high points of the night.
-
True, there were five Poles in the line-up and four of them QUALIFIED on merit, while the fifth was the wild card. Remind me how many British riders QUALIFIED on merit. No denying that last night was a disappointment for the Poles, while Harris was outstanding and the British champion, to be fair to him, performed reasonably well. But it's still early days. One swallow doesn't make a summer. And, at the very least, it might quell the cries of foul that occur every year when Britain needs charity entry to the GPs.

Presuming that the starting averages were the same as the finishing averages from last season, here's all the statistics for the 2006 season: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc...&news_id=192132 Just click on the league you want. It begins with league tables and meeting results, then goes onto averages.

2007 Grand Prix Competiton
Subedei replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I could say plenty, but I'd be straight back into trouble. So, I'll settle for pathetically abject. And Jagus wasn't much better. Still, we live to fight another day. -
It looks as if he's simply burnt out. Too much hype, too much expectation. I always said his career could go stellar or down the pan. At the minute, the latter looks more likely.

Any News On Andreas
Subedei replied to scotty2hotty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Was a nasty tumble, but good to know there was no serious damage done. And here's wishing young Jonsson a speedy recovery. -
That, I guess, will be me and a few others. In my defence, I always maintained that I wasn't as against the selection of Harris as I was against the selection of Nicholls. Harris has done very well in his first couple of GPs. He was outstanding tonight. And yes, I feel a few words being forced back down my throat. But, as ever, I'm happy to eat those words. Harris has far exceeded my expectations and long may he continue to do so.
