  1. Whisper is that Poole have been reported to the environmental officer for allowing practice while the school exams were taking place in the afternoon. Whoever allowed that needs sacking.
  2. I think you will find that Ford has property interests abroad.
  3. Fundin was already a 4 times World Champion before he signed for Belle Vue!
  4. I was in Poole overnight. No rain at 11pm. Car and roads not even damp at 7am. No rain between 7am and 6.30pm when it was called off. I was at my Fathers, whose house backs onto the school and Stadium. You can watch the riders go along the back straight from the pits into bend 3 Unless the rules have changed, I believe the home promoter can call off a meeting right up to 2 hours before the meeting. After that, only the referee can call it off. I am with SS on this. A massive balls up and one which will have a profound affect. Embarrassed to say the least.
  5. Its all a load of twaddle. Dont give two hoots about your background. Where you are born is your nationality,End of.
  6. Is JoshG Australian or Polish? In todays Echo it states he is now eligible to ride in this years Polish Champs! Riding on Friday in Krosno along with Woryna!
  7. I hope Woryna is ok after his alarming fall in Sweden last night. He went in air fence, bike over it! Hope to be there, although the weather here in Devon is awful.
  8. Worrall 2 wins from 2 rides at Leicester.
  9. Score 3-9 after 2 races. Track awful, riders bouncing everywhere.
  10. Proboards keep kicking me out. Apparently,Ive signed in with another name! Never used it in my life.Wont even let me read comments!
  11. I live within a 10 minute level walk to Torquay United. I warned my friends about Osborne right from the off. There is a very strong element that want only one thing....Osborne out! There has been talk about a takeover from the Truro City owner. Sooner the better. The council are being very objective to Osbornes plans. Thankfully, they can see straight through him. The suggested site for a new ground is pure pie in the sky. The ground there is swampy and will never drain properly.
  12. Whats with all this headhunting? I very much doubt if either Brady or Josh will have such a mare again this season. Let alone on the same night. Bad result for sure.Just a little tweaking for the track and riders. We will be up there when it really matters. Up the Pirates! ;-)
  13. I could have gone to this meeting, but thankfully chose not to! Instead I went to the British U21 semi final at Birmingham. Some decent speedway, although I have seen better there. The 2 biggest cheers of the night? The presenter announced that Poole were currently losing 27-39 and the Final score from Poole!
  14. Not been back to Birmingham since Poole won the League Title there a few years ago. Not a bad meeting to be honest. One or two really good races. Result was pretty much as expected. Only ones I got wrong were Hampshire and Flint. Had to feel for Leon as he was in a scoring position when he had a puncture. To push a bike virtually a whole lap, with flat tyre, for no points, took guts. For those that dont know, when deciding finishing positions. a zero outscores a did not finish, so could have been vital. Sadly, it wasnt to be. Gutted for you Leon. A point would have put him in a run off with Bickley and Hampshire for 6th and 7th place. Kyle didnt ride well and got a bit lucky, if I am honest. Bowtell fell while in a comfortable lead, gifting Kyle a point. In the end, it made all the difference. If it had come to a 3 way run off, I am not sure he would have qualified.. Still at the end of the day, if you have a off day, but still qualify, it cant be all that bad. I agree, the big surprise for me was Joe Lawlor. Not overly impressed last season, but so far this season, brilliant. Saw him on IOW last week and came away with very positive thoughts. Same again here. So pleased I chose to go to this meeting, had to be better than going to Poole last night, thats for sure!
  15. I used to hate Ivan! At Poole, the meeting before Ivan was due to appear, Mr Knott would get us to practice our boos! All pure theatre of course. As an 8 year old in 1963, I remember shoving my autograph book at Ivan, along with many other kids. He simply put his finger across his lips to 'shhhh' us all up. He then said, 'I will sign for everyone, but get in line and say please and thank you. He did. Something Ive never forgotten to this day. I am not an autograph hunter, but he taught me the simplest of manners. Ive liked him ever since, even though he was an 'arch enemy', especially when he joined Exeter. R.I.P. Ivan and thank you for some wonderful memories.
  16. Hoping to come up for this. Any weather updates, please? Supporting Kyle Bickley and Leon Flint. Britain's got talent alright!
  17. Not a bad meeting, but also not a good one either. Track clearly very patchy which caught all riders out. No ones fault, just awful weather leading up to Wednesday. Bewley poor in Ht2, otherwise always in the mix.Looks so good on a bike.Starke good value too. Best Ive seen Fricke for a while. Of course, If BV had either Worrall or Cook, they could easily taken something from this meeting. Then again, if Tungate had bothered to turn up, who knows? Just pleased to get the win, if a touch fortunate. Good to meet up with Phil the Ace and Claire. Hope you had a safe journey home.
  18. Hi Phil, I will be there for this one. Come and say hello. I usually stand by the photo stall on bend 3. Also going to IOW v Colts on thursday. You doing both?
  19. I think Leicester will win, but Poole will sneak a losing bonus point, perhaps 48-42.
  20. 1. Ben Morley 2.Josh Bailey 3.Kyle Bickley 4.Henry Atkins 5.Leon Flint 6.Drew Kemp 7.Jason Edwards
  21. I understand that Poole will be using the rained off 70th Anniversary programmes for Friday, with an insert, of course!
  22. I have seen most of the riders from both teams over the last few days. Already mentioned those at Sheffield. Went to Leicester v Somerset last night, should have been Wolves v Poole until it got put back.Difficult to judge on the notorious gate n go track. Doyle: usual self. Got done by Andersen (see footage on BSPA web page). After the race, he almost got t-boned by Newman.Slowing down on the inside, he headed for the pits without looking, rode straight across Kyle, who somehow took avoiding action. Careless move. Missed start in Ht13 and didnt chase for long. Allen, tidy start but faded. Wright solid as ever. Holder one good win, not a lot else. Lawson when he gated looked good, when he didnt, looked very poor. Jeppesen, nothing to speak of, tbh. Wilson-Dean, very aggressive couple of 1st turns, especially shoving Andersen out of the way.Not eay to do, but then faded. Dont underestimate this one! Former Pirates: Andersen was superb, looking really sharp. Newman rode steadily for his points. Unlucky to lose steel shoe as he was looking to split the Rebels pair in Ht12.
  23. Simon Steads Last Lap at Sheffield Sunday. Brady looking really good, 2nd in Final.PK fourth.Encouraging. Very much gate n go. As track dried out, gating was essential. Vaculik showed his class when it mattered. Impressed with Brady, good use of elbows in one race! PK started slowly, but his last 3 rides he was certainly on it. Josh also did ok, with 7pts and 2 retirements.
  24. Im at Sheffield. After 3 rides. Brady flying, 9 , Pk ok-ish 4 Josh 4 2 good one poor ride. Doyle got tangled at start, withdrew from 3rd ride, sore ankle,1pt. Looks like its between Brady, NKI, Howarth.
