  1. MacDonald unlikely to ride again this season, doubt Leicester would be interested anyway, real average well below 4pt.
  2. You can pay by card on the gate, no cash.
  3. Only rider possibly worth looking at would be Starke, does he fit for Newman or Heeps and go with Killeen or another novice at 7?
  4. A point was definitely deserved. Batchelor in ht9 and Summers in ht12 would have been favourites to win those heats so could have been even better. Masters n Pickering never looked like being beaten, even when they were briefly headed in ht 13. Would have taken a point before the start thou.
  5. After a 9 1/2 hour trip north, was good to see a decent meeting, plenty of entertaining racing. Nice start to his Oxford career by Summers. Disappointing to see Josh MacDonald pick up another knock, we've virtually run the whole season without a number 7 with a 4pt average. That could be the difference between play offs or not. Vital to win all our remaining home matches and hopefully pick up something at Edinburgh on Friday.
  6. Welcome aboard Spud, hit the ground anything like Sedgie has and we could yet surprise a few teams
  7. They said Andersen was riding at number 5 so presumably in for Starke.
  8. Ben Hopwood has retired from the sport. Glad to see Killeen now available to ride, Oxford seem to have a useful side at this level.
  9. Cracking meeting, with respect to Birmingham and Newcastle, this was easily our best away performance of the season. A very well earned point that could easily have been more. Not sure why Newman was put off -15 after touching the tapes in heat 3, Ruml had just won heat 2 and ended up having only 6 rides. MacDonald still looks unfit and with Thomas likely to be out for a period, R/R offers limited manouvering with an unfit reserve, although Batchelor does get an extra ride. Anybody thinking of going to Redcar should go, been some great racing on my two visits this season.
  10. Maybe just give the rider winning the final 23 points, everybody else scores what they score as before. If you go unbeaten, you'd gain another 2 points as well. Winning finalist will always get most points and somebody having done well in qualifying also rewarded with good points.
  11. Oxford having been fielding a team 3points under the limit all season (bar the opening meeting), alongside disappointing returns from some, adds up to a poor return all round.
  12. Our finances are built around a modest attendance figure for this season, realistic, not silly. We'll leave that to others
  13. Oxford engine room just not up to it at present and no big scores at reserve. Not a good combination. Play off place still up for grabs thou
  14. We do seem to be just short a little short of being a good team. Bears deservedly go through, we benefited from having Gilkes guesting on Wednesday. Very good meeting and a very nice track. Good luck in the next round to the Bears.
  15. Without Gilkes it would have been a home defeat, he rode very well and fully deserved a shot in heat 15. Cant imagine 4 points will be enough, but you never know.
  16. Fully deserved win by Oxford, thou its obvious that Diamonds are currently very poor. Hopefully things will turn around for them soon. Thomas and Ruml both very good, big improvement from lesser showings the previous night at Berwick. We need to get Batchelor going to remain competitive against other teams thou, especially away from home. With Heeps and McDonald having not really ridden yet, difficult to know where we actually stand.
  17. Certainly a better meeting than the score suggests. Some terrific passing moves around a track that gets a bad rap. Thought we would score a few more, difficult running r/r if you have a couple of men slightly down on their scoring. Special mention to local lad Nathan Stoneman, def a track he seems to enjoy and always entertaining. Much colder than I remember up north
  18. Can see Poole hitting 60 points at home quite a few times this season. Far better in all area's last night.
  19. Josh McDonald suffered a break to the bottom of his tibia when he crashed in heat 2 on Wednesday, replaced tonight by Nathan Stoneman , stepping up from the Chargers. Hopefully Josh can make a swift recovery, good luck to local lad Stoneman this evening.
