Electric speedway the future??
FAST GATER replied to piepower's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
ironically I think it is ideal for starting out whether it will replace existing engines is another matter however it may help reduce cost by giving engine tuners /riders a wakeup call .A possible option for tracks close to housing( ironically I often hear householders actually moan about PA/music between races rather than the bikes ) or possible indoor use as has been said . -
With all due respect he has little to test him in the PL unlike the SGP's where his form is not what it was to say the least !
-
I would be quite happy to go to Bradford for the s/way ,because personally I have no interest in going to Cardiff except for the s/way event itself .
-
Certainly has potential but it's sadly the financial implications I suspect are too big a reach !
-
IMO that is what he should do or stick to Champ league but perhaps the best course of action would be to retire to him media work which he is starting to excel at .
-
Remember him at the Elle Port with Nicky in the 70's always happy to chat and give advice MHR's
-
No where near the rider he was ,if he didn't gate then that was it and just lost it in the semi he almost seems uncomfortable when in the pack .He reminds me of Hancock's last full season and he was pushing fifty ,Tai should have another good five or more years at the very top but I honestly think he will be gone in a couple years the way he is going .
-
Problem for the rest of the riders is Bartoz now rides like true WC not trying to win every race but turning it it on when needed ,the way he dealt with Doyle in the semi shows he will mix it if he has to now . IMO if Doyle and Tai miss the cut they should not get wild cards ,Tai just seems to be unwilling to mix it anymore and Doyle seems to have lost that imposing edge he had .
-
I assume an airfence would be used in an appopriate way IMO the practical issues can be solved the financial issues are the biggest obstacle, where there is a will and money there is always a way

Watched Chris in his year at Elle Port go from a reserve to a full team member spoke to him at Cardiff when selling bricks for NSS ,gave 5mins even though he was busy "that's the syle all riders should have "

Perhaps a fitting swansong from Scotty at least at PL level ! -
British speedway is a joke.

Historically this has always been the problem dealing with riders is like herding cats ,when we were involved with rider's contracts it was a nightmare they would change there demands and terms at the drop of a hat .The Polish league seem to have them under a certain amount of control but in the UK it's a free for all made worse by the lack of quality riders ,it is not all down to bad promoters the riders should take their share of the blame as well . -

Think Scott should give it best not done much in either league this season ! -
IMO a lot has to do with a rider's height after all most s/way riders are on the whole short in stature , the taller you are the more upright and in some cases awkward your style .Briggo had a less stylish look than say Ivan ,Doyle has an awkward style to me compared to Zmarzlik and the likes of Hancock and PK just looked at one with the bike making it look almost too easy
