Sorry can't agree with that at all I've never seen such a magician on s/way bike I always thought Mauger was the best but IMO Bart will become the GOAT !
-
Imo Doyle will be around for few years to come his GP days may be coming to an end but with regards the UK he is one of the top performers and has loyally ridden here consistently for many years . Whilst I am not a particular fan I do appreciate he is a points machine especially in the British league and I am sure any team would welcome him with open arms .

I think Dave Parry deserves a mention what wonderful supporter of the sport and Wolves in particular he has been, there are not many like him ! -

Think it would create more interest than the main event a real treat for everyone if that happened hope the night goes well and the weather is kind to you ,I for one think the loss of Mon/Green is a sad day for the sport . -

On a personal note I would have love to have seen PK do the last ever laps at Monmore, like Mauger did at Exeter PK has been great servant to the club and the British league for decades . -
Who COULD Have Been a Major Force in World Speedway?

Wiggy probably made more money on L/track riding in Europe on grasstrack as well ,think the same can be said for Kelvin Tatum a bad injury early on plus racing L/track effected his S/way career but not his bank balance I suspect . -
IMO these riders( both have been WC there is no doubting their ability ) are not what I want to see in the sport and I hope that the next generation move on from this type of riding I am not against robust actions but don't like the fact these riders trade on fear , I often think riders who adopt this attitude are making up for a lack of skill /ability to some extent . The sport is dangerous enough without riders almost deliberately setting out fence another rider ,there are always going to be occasions when mistakes are made riders knock others off but not just because they won't allow another rider past there is blocking and there are deliberate actions that can lead to carnage plus serious career ending injury . It seems ironic that both of the above riders have had a number of serious injuries during their careers ,I just wonder how many they would of had if they had not adopted this IMO overly aggresssive riding style and how many WC titles NP would have won .

Unfortunately for them all Bart is only 28yrs old and may well still improve barring injury he could be around for at least 5 more yrs plus at this level . -
Only injury will stop him getting those seven titles IMO !
-
Having watched the sport for many years I think that the standard of riders across the sport particularly in Poland are as good as they ever were .IMO Bart is just so much better than the rest plus he has matured and is consistent which is crucial in winning world titles on a regular basics .

That's not good at all I believe this type of injury ended Rickardson's career
-
Yes Tai really looked knocked about had quite a few injuries recently wonder whether he is considering his future ,would imagine he is fairly well set up and has a number of things going on outside of s/way .

I think you have made the point ,IMO they should have deducted 20 points and allowed the fans to see probable the greatest rider the sport has ever seen as we know their careers can be over in the blink of an eye ! -
RIP a sad loss always great to watch .

A very good post some sound reasoning for Cardiff all of which are valid and true but the main overwhelming factor is the roof "guaranteed to be on .Except for the first time I have always done it there and back in the day and had a great time . As a former hotel owner I can tell you they have to "make hay while the sun shines ", the overheads on going costs are just the same full as half empty in many cases ..
-
I think that's harsh the track held up much better than last year ,IMO Cardiff often gives the less favourable riders a real chance of winning a GP and with the roof is guaranteed to be on . The rider of the night without doubt was Holder ( just can't warm to the fellow myself ) my worry with him is he has to ride beyond himself IMO at times to beat Bart , I think that Tai was under huge pressure from Bart when he came to grief. Even on a poor night by his standards he is the one they all fear people go on about him having all the luck but as Gary Player the golfer said "the more I practise the luckier I get " , imagine what he could do if he gated more often rather than having to do it the hard way !
