  1. Would be good to have another track on the mainland though !
  2. Looks like a reasonable setup to me where there is a will there is a way and the foundations for a track are there not just a field.I'm sure more informed individuals will give a whole raft of issues and problems but IMO for s/way it looks a definite possibility.
  3. Just can't warm to this pair not doubting there ability just something about them !
  4. These issue are extremely common in commercial leases when a tenant wishes to sell a business the landlord can insist on robust and onerous conditions in simple terms guarantees .This may also include financial remuneration for allowing transfer or a complete new lease . Even the simplest commercial lease depending on the detail can cost a minimum of 3-5 K each party ,I would imagine in this case the costs could be significantly more .
  5. Just think the PL is a stretch for Scott now as he would be doubling up !
  6. This league should be as low cost as possible entry level to the sport( a paying hobby at this level) ,riders should not be expected to have all the "bells and whistles " equipment of the upper leagues . Decent reliable and affordable bikes within set parameters should be mandatory, so riders can improve their skills and not win or progress due to deep pockets .
  7. You are aware of the cost of someone being in prison to the tax payer ,surely it is better even from a financial point of view for him to return to his chosen profession and hopefully contribute to society .
  8. If he is half the rider he was on a low average( second string) he has got to be worth a punt
  9. Would that be a fact or wishful thinking ?
  10. RIP George good solid rider always happy to have a word with you .
  11. I could be wrong but that would only be the case if in some way his offenses were directly related to the sport ,also it would not really look good from the point of rehabilitation of an offender . We have to accept that he has been punished ( whether you agree with that is another matter) from everyone's point of view if he is able to make a fist of being a s/way rider surely that can only be a good thing. You can ostracise him because you feel that's what he deserves but his best chance of not re-offending is to be gainfully employed( s/way appears to be the best occupation for him ) and occupied in general as much a possible ,no one can guarantee that he will succeed but at least there would be no excuses for him not doing so .
  12. Have you read his book( the whole truth) that's worth reading as well ,until I did I never realised he built s/way wheels as part of his living .
  13. Can't think why he won't get one or an ACU licence
  14. Think his Prem days are behind him still a force in the Champ league but big ask to ride a full season in both when pushing 48yrs old.
  15. He has got to still be Champ Level even now !
  16. IMO that's the best chance he has ,his rehab starts now whether he chooses to take it will be down to him if he gets a team place and you not happy with his inclusion vote with your feet !
  17. Good post. The point I have been trying to make is his "rehab " starts now ,being gainful employed and occupied as much of the time as possible is the best chance he has of making a fist of it .By all means he should be encouraged to show some of form remorse for his appalling crime /crimes and demonstate his wish to become a asset to society . To be clear I consider his situation to be totally HIS own making but that isn't to say we pehaps should not give him the opportunity to put things right .
  18. Imo his best hope of making life for himself is at this stage to return to the sport , short term prisoners ( as he would be for the length of his sentence ) get "ZERO" help in any shape or form with regards to reabilitation . In the past I have had dealings with former offenders ( through being a former residential landlord ) as Mikebv says some make a fresh start others fall back into their old ways .
  19. So where and what should he do with the rest of his life that gives him a remote chance of leading a law- abiding existence plus possibly contributing to society ?
  20. Maybe talk the" flying window cleaner" Tony Atkin into turning out !
  21. It has never really bothered me who wins a s/way match as long as it is a close scoreline plus decent racing ,winning the league seems to have very little relevance on the attendance figures . Star riders have a limited appeal in getting punters through the gate ,it's the whole package that matters and the blind love of the sport demonstated by the vast majority of fans . I can't understand the criticism of CL in any shape or form he has been wonderful servant to the sport ( I am certain it has not made him any wealthier ) and has decided he has had enough .
  22. Fair point the one thing I would say is imagine how good Bart could be if he was a "gater " .
  23. Doyle has a finite time left in the sport ,therefore needs to make the best financial decisions he can to maximise his income .
