I think the significant amount of money he has earned in a relatively weak PL might be part of the reason ,fair play to him hope he has earned a good retirement out of it .

I think he is just riding well has dialled in the track and is the best rider there tonight ,seems the rest cant find away past. Lambert has this to lose !

Not a huge shock but I am glad he is walking away from the sport on his own terms best wishes for long and happy retirement .

I hope he wins but Kurtz won it last year and there is only three points in it .

It always happens once a rider even contemplates retiring they seem to have fall away quite quickly ,the CL is a possibility next season but IMO now he should make this his last season as a rider .

I think there are less financial penalties( if any) for missing GP'S than league matches ,if he aggravated his injury in the GP he may well be unpopular to say the least with his league teams .

The age old scenario as you get older the injuries take longer to heal and often not properly or without leaving legacies in comparison to when you were younger .

Time and injuries starting to catch up will have rely on W/C at this rate !

It seems to me Lynn is a track that you either ride well or not I believe many riders don't like riding there as they say the fence is less than forgiving .In his final season for Wolves PK threw a sicky ( almost unheard of from him)and would not ride at Lynn I assume for fear of injury .

Would love that but IMO when riders even hint at retiring it seems to break the spell !

Seven rides from a 48 yr old fair play to Scotty fine way to bring the curtain down on long and successful career ,hope he stays injury free to the end season .

In his defence he's 43 yrs old and time catches up with everyone and not being a gater is huge handicap the older you get !

I could not agree more Vince every race is box office with him , the other riders don't let him through as many on here say he exerts such pressure and speed they can't stop him .

What injury did Freddie sustain must be quite bad to keep him off track , although as I have said maybe father time is catching up with a few riders .
