  1. Really pleased for all concerned we now have a track that befits a team like the Aces and there long heritage looking forward to visiting many times in the future . Armstrong should be plying his trade in the PL IMO
  2. So glad you had a great meeting i am so pleased for Mort & co hopefully B/vue will become one of best tracks in s/way now all the teething problems are behind you .
  3. Sorry is this a broadcast on behalf of the BSPA FTR is just to save money TODAY and will do nothing for the sport except haste it's demise !!!!
  4. Will Tai be racing at 45yrs old never mind beating the current w/camp because we must remember he is feeling the pace( as he keeps telling us in his mid 20's) say what you like TG put on an amazing show
  5. I think that we have to accept that they acted in good faith and thought that the meeting would go ahead ,I was there and will be happy to wait for my refund so I am putting my money where my mouth is as it were!!
  6. I respect your opinion but TOTALLY disagree these two men have given the best part of 10yrs( time and money) to bring us one of the if not the best stadium and Track ( once the issues are ironed out) that we have in this country from scratch and built for s/way only.It is already an amazing feat IMO and I wish them well and forward to many visits in the future. Chris Morton's first track my beloved Ellesmere Port lies in ruin waiting for the bulldozers so i am so glad that this track has come to fruition and IMO it is safe and caring hands
  7. I just hate the format it is wrecking EL s/way by the day
  8. Get back to 7 EL riders and the old format it was NEVER about developing riders more quickly, just the money being saved while short changing fans wanting to watch EL s/way it's a complete joke .
  9. If it gets rid of EDR I'm for it That's how I was always told the crash happened nothing to do with handicap system ,IMO the GDTS was scrapped at the riders request( I believe Briggs threaten to retire if the handicap system was not banned in his day)just like the handicap system they say it puts more stress on the engines.
  10. Enough falling out and name calling on here as it is without "politics being brought into it !!!!!
  11. Your poking a hornets nest there my friend
  12. Did he not say he was only interested in riding for Wolves and not that keen on doing that from what I have read ? ,sadly I think retirement beckons as this will be the first time in 20 odd yrs he has not ridden in this country .
  13. I have to say that I do agree with a lot of what you say but the racing can only be as good as the riders and the track and IMO they are effected by the lack of money in the sport today .You will never get away from gate and go races ( they have always been there) and will remain forever ,how many times do we say he will never be any good till he learns to gate . Think you need to give the sport a little longer and you will find there are some hidden gems which surface and make it all worthwhile ,also IMO if you want to see the best elements of the sport today ( I say this through gritted teeth) then trip to Cardiff would be your best plan of action .
  14. I would agree with most of what you say I think the point here is in most team sports the player etc do tend to look the same ,I have always said s/way is a team sport ridden individuals and body colours and bike covers should be provided by the management .I know that alot of riders have sponsors who want their names etc on show but prehaps there is a compromise could be found somewhere .
  15. I take your point( I was threre on the day as it were) but they lay a track indoors at Cardiff which is not effected directly by the weather as the N Staduim appears to have been,I believe that curing boggy land as this problem is can be quite difficult rectify.
  16. I maybe wrong but did not most NL( now Pl ) riders in the 70's have jobs aswell by memory Tom Owen ran his own plant hire company it was only the likes Joe Owen .John Jackson etc that were full time and that was a purple period for the sport ,so prehaps it is time for the sport to become semi pro again .
  17. First step would be to scrap FTR completely wrecked EL racing have six men teams rather than that farce called "protected heats" explain that to a newbee if you can !!!
  18. Excellent post but far too sensible for speedway sadly !!!
  19. Isn't that the whole point of the exercise and wrecked the EL format in the process
