  1. Would that mean an equal share out of Sky money rather than the chosen few deciding what happens with it !
  2. I don't see this as a way to bring back the big names at all if you want that just pay them enough to come here which the league can't afford .This idea may work with riders who can't find places at start of the season because of averages and end up waiting for injuries to happen .There are lots of permutations here for using riders without the expense of squad systems or ones that can only/want to ride at a certain time in the season.
  3. Spot on the problem is the cash available in the EL NOT what night you race on ,if you offer enough money they will drop riding else where so there would no longer be a clash of nights problem . Plus this could all happen and the El would still be in the same position it is now or worse !!!! Yes stand firm against fixed nights Also the economy may have had a part in it people don't have the disposable income they had in the past or are far more reluctant to spend it on things such as s/way. Unless money is injected to the sport I think sadly( which I don't want) we will end up with a 21 PL within a very short space of time and wonder if CVS &co have this at the back of their minds "if" fixed nights completely mess things up .
  4. Nothing could be further from the truth I wish nothing but the best for this sport remain unconvinced fixed nights it will not effect the Pl, ( this is IMO) others have said that fixed nights would attract top riders back to the league i very much doubt this and remain of that opinion .I am am probable an old fan but would like think that I can still embrace change if I consider the actions being taken appropriate. What are the correct nights that will solve all the problems ?
  5. It is NOT an explanation it is my opinion and yours differing nothing more we may both be right to some extent but it is my opinion that fixed nights will solve very little but I am happy to be proved wrong .We have limited information( I have non you may solid official info) as with most things in s/way a lot of it is shrouded in secrecy and we don't all the pieces to the puzzle .
  6. So this will save speedway( in the UK) and all these riders have agreed to be in the league next season or will they have another reason for not wanting to race here such as Money offer them enough and you won't have to mess about with anything let's call it OPTION THREE
  7. So it's sounds well worth messing about with fixed race nights NOT Good for BV Imo this far more realistic to try and encourage a younger fan base
  8. So it's sounds well worth messing about with fixed race nights
  9. No what I am saying is there is a shortage of money within the sport ( I think we all agree on that one) and going to fixed race nights will not address that IMO and will destabilise the sport even more .As to Pl clubs( whose race nights seem suit there purpose but may well be struggling financially as well ) being effected I am under the impression that fixed nights is to help EL teams attract the"names " back to these shores .I am not an EL hater/ PL snob quite the contrary and accept that the sport needs a high level such as the EL but not at the expense of damaging the sport further .I repeat that these riders will ride any day of the week if the money is there as is proved with the GP lads dashing back to Poland on a Sunday afternoon .
  10. Many tracks can't change their race nights for various reasons particularly PL tracks which would have to do so to accommodate EL tracks hoping to attract the "big names " back .It has already been said that it's that money is the primary reason for them giving the EL a miss so untold damage could be done to multiple tracks and they would beggar off again once the last drop of money dried up
  11. Exactly "money" I am under no illusions there but fixed night will finish speedway in this country mark my words for the future if that happens
  12. Totally agree everything is about the "money" but often feel I am the only one that see this !!!!
  13. So PK did not consider riding for Peterborough this season I stand corrected
  14. Drawing board or stump up the cash for PK !!!( plan "B" I suspect )
  15. I have no doubts that there is a difference in the ability of riders in the three leagues and I think any rider should be paid as much as they can get within reason ,my point is that while there are issues for all s/way teams the EL spread theirs over everyone else.No one wants to see the demise of the El but it just seems blunder from one problem to the next and thinking these big names returning will improve things, all it will do is drain the last drop of money left in the sport. As to the make up of the El explain to a non s/way fan how the FT system operates and see their reaction protected heats are absolute nonsense ,we are all brainwashed into thinking it's for the future of the sport .
  16. Never mind that what about thinking that a league who can't find or fund a team of seven EL standard riders wants the lion's share of the Sky money to show five EL riders and two NL riders hidden under the guise of the FT system .How many riders have now progressed to full team places, they should have less money for putting a diluted product. The likes of Hancock ,Tai &co aren't coming back anytime soon :mad:when will people realise this .
  17. So they are not all in the same Boat PL can have an EQUAL share of all the problems and short comings of the sport but not the "money" sounds about right .
  18. This just might be the shot in the arm the sport needs well done to all involved I wish you every success for the future and look forward to visiting and seeing the wonderful stadium first hand .
  19. Fair enough just tell the EL that it's all one "Boat " and to share the lifeboats equally including the Sky money if you want equality that's a good place to start ,
  20. The sport has never been the same again IMO and never will be sadly . Could not agree more EL is making their problems the PL's IMO let them sort their own problems out, the future of the sport maybe to run the leagues totally separate where possible I have always thought that .
  21. Some good points I think the fact of the matter is that the cost to riders in league speedway needs to reflect the income of the sport at turnstile , in a perfect world let the GP boys spend (waste ) theirs or sponsors money on the latest "must have's " and excessive tuning costs .In league s/way the running costs need to be cut accordingly ,as I remember in the past bikes used one season in the EL would turn up in the PL the next season and this seemed to work quite well .I remember riders wearing s/hand leathers or having odd mudguards ( B/Briggs being a prime example ) now even in the NL they look like GP bikes and I know that there is a standard to be kept but Briggs said it was more important to have a good motor than fancy guards etc.
