13 from 5 rides today for Eastbourne from Tom Brennan. Don't forget he missed most of 2019 with a bad leg break and of course most of 2020 due to covid. This lad looks a top prospect

Long shot I know, but I don't suppose you was the gentleman I was talking to today on turn two? -
EASTBOURNE V KENT K O CUP 6th June
M.D replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Apart from Nicholls and Starke who got better as the meeting went on, Kent didn't turn up today, the rest was very poor indeed. Both Brennan and Kemp excellent for Eastbourne, Kennett seems under power to me. I would say a definite collarbone break for Kerr in what was an awkward looking spill, classic looking collarbone tumble although obviously I do hope I'm wrong. -

I Will, long time Eastie fan from 1976, so you would think we would be at loggerheads him being a primate and myself a budgie.. One of the nicest guys you can meet trackside and yes I enjoy his posts on here, humour and digging at fans, riders and clubs but this is a forum and should be both discussion and fun. Always a welcome poster on this site and thats from a budgie as he would describe me.. -
Eastbourne v Poole 29th May 2021 Championship
M.D replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hey Steve, are you down in Sussex today? I can't make this evening otherwise it would of been good to catch up again, not seen you since my Adam Shields days and thats a good while back now! Next time the clubs face up again I will make a point of catching up, stay safe and enjoy the speedway.. -
If this is true and hes lost his nerve then he needs to quit the sport fairly quick before he hurts himself with over cautious thinking on track. ive seen it happen to a few riders and they never get their nerve back unfortunatly.

Im a project manager on large new build construction sites so I know the effect the jab has caused on people, you have a good manager there 3H -
The Sussex area around Arlington is clay based so holds water but they are pretty good at getting meetings on, hope it holds off enough

I had my first covid jab about a month or so back, felt fine. Went to work next day feeling great, mid morning started to feel a bit iffy and by the evening I was awful I know a lot of people who have had no reactions from the jab but know an awful lot more that have been really unwell with it like myself. Don't judge -
I don't get the SS anymore so I have not read that. Is there a doubt over Poole running this season?
-
Still Eastbourne for me Very strong and well balanced side but importantly this won't be the first season they have ridden together Team spirit and understanding both on and off track is a massive factor

Paul Hurry looks like he may have a bit of a power to weight ratio issue..

Switch it to the Arlington raceway Eastbourne. Be lovely to see the Poles have a complete and utter meltdown.. -
I think we won't see high level exposure from the media for the sport for a while. Clubs need to promote the sport more in their own back yard first before the bigger picture of national exposure can be achieved. I know its my club but Eastbourne are doing things the right way and moving forward, they are doing a lot of work in various areas, some with success some with none but they are trying very hard to promote the club and sport. Difficult but I know the numbers for advanced tickets for the first two meetings are very encouraging with a lot of lost fans returning and thats a start..

There is no way a club can run with that attendance allowance, even if it goes up after June 21st

I agree with this to an extent, the only way we will get main stream media coverage in this country is with either a winning international team or individual. Tai had some good exposure on TV and media like Talk sport but the problem now is if we do well at international level, neither Tai or Lambert race in the UK so punters can't go and watch them live in this country. If we can get exposure with our top stars we can hardly promote them with a "riding this week at insert club here" as they won't be riding here anytime soon..

A 16 year old Martin Dugard went from 5.69 up to 9.75 in 1986 winning a league and cup double in the process.

Birmingham Brummies 2020
M.D replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Brum look the only team in this division that can fit him in and he's definitely stated he's riding in the UK this coming season.. -
Blimey, that is kind of a shock but expected during this past year, I hope it doesn't effect the running of Kent as that business has been going a long time..

And they paid Sheffield Wednesday £6.5M to get Steve Bruce and his backroom team!
