Tom Brennan is a talented rider, you have to remember he had a bad break to his leg missing a season and then he had the Covid season so almost had 2 really important years lost of his development.
so going off the back of virtually 2 years out he’s an outstanding talent, head and shoulders above his age group
I first went to Arlington in 1976, seen a few laps around the place.
From a fan to involved with a rider and now a sponsor of 2 of the riders and a few past, this could be heartbreaking.
True, when speedway first opened up a lot of other places to go were still closed so speedway was one of the few options to go for a night out.
Now with other attractions open, people can go elsewhere.
No idea about rent or income streams from the food outlets or bars..
Re the Birmingham fixture, OK I'm in Brighton 30 miles away but it has not stopped raining since I got up at 5.30 and doesn't look like it will stop for a while.
I think its the best call both financially and weather wise..
Thats a very good point that not many people including promoters have considered.
The start of the season there was not too many places/social events open so it was one of the stand out places to go for a night out
Now the country has come out of lockdown and the social scene has opened up it would be interesting to see if a lot of clubs attendences have dropped from that point onwards, ominous signs if gates have fallen nationwide if thats the trend.
TBF, always a good side and a team running into form at the right time of the season.
I would have thought most would have gone with a home win today..
Yes its a shame about the double headers..
Its a good move to take Jason out of the firing line and put Ablitt in for a bit, both have talent but Ablitt looks to have more confidence at the moment
That will upset you then Bob, just as negative about Eastbourne as you was about Lakeside and British speedway in general..
I do enjoy reading your posts though, if I ever need to cheer myself up I just look at your cheery persona and think my life must be great...
